Keep at it, Mat. I've been a fan of these strength events for about 10 years and it's great to see a Kiwi presence there, and you're doing so well! :)

only seen you in like 5 comps so far and am already a big fan! 2025 will be a great year for you. you're already deadlifting and hanging with the top guys in the world and are seemingly novel to the elite pro strongman scene. I'm ready, as are a lot of us, to see you podium and win some good comps next year....maybe even the latter part of this year. you've been killing it and the best we all know is yet to come! Keep up the solid work!

you did pretty good. without easy mistakes you would've come 4th or 5th pretty easily.
you lost at least 2 easy points in the car walk, maybe up to 3 points in the stones, arguably 1 in both the wrecking ball hold and dumbbell. with these, you would've had 32.5 points out of a maximum of 50 which is very good. with these minor changes you would indeed have come 3rd overall.

Yeah for sure! It’s part of the sport and I think it’s what makes it so interesting! Anything can happen and whoever keeps their composure comes out on top!

I was living and training in NZ last year 2023, living on Waiheke. I went into town sometimes and i tried to get a session in at Decile One but I couldn’t figure out how to get in, no one was answering the phone lol Next time

you were trying to do a sort of serious interview, but your mate was having none of it, that was funny. that's how it should be, i think, not taking everything too seriously. i train just because i love the process and it helps me feel good, not because i wanna show everyone how cool i am or whatever. i know i'm just a stranger on the internet and my advice isn't worth much, but since you're bringing it up yourself might wanna do some more cardio. Mitch does 1 km runs every day and it certainly shows looking at his performance. best of luck in the future comps, you're certainly capable of upsetting the current favorites.
