Funny thing is that most of the current Argentinian air force are the exact same planes that fought in the Falklands by that I don't mean the same models of aircraft I mean the original aircraft
We Brits have some of the original aircraft we used there still too. The difference? Ours, being nearly 40 years old now, are where they should be- in museums
Argentina doesnt even have those planes anymore , actually we pretty much dont even have an Air Force
@@rndm7528 it's due to arms embargos and most of the argentine air force being comprised of 60+ year old planes that getting parts is becoming increasingly more difficult and expensive so their just retiring everything the own
Pretty much left over ww2 equipment
My exact thoughts. The Argies haven't had much investment in their armed forces for a bit longer than just 5-10 years. More like 40-ish now. But, given the Falkland adventure, perhaps it's for better.
Don't underestimate the Argentine submarines.. they're so stealthy not even the Argies can find them.
Sam W this comment is brill
Sam W It's sad but that's the reality of our military..
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA you sir shall be knighted.
sadly yes, honestly speaking though, argentina submarines used to be good, i read in the falklands, they actually tried to attack british ships on many ocassions, but their torpedoes malfunctioned. That's what you get when you buy weapons from NATO countries, not even the exocets worked, none of them exploded on impact, british ships were damaged or sunk by the rocket fuel that burned the ships. When you buy from NATO, you get 2nd rate and watered down versions
Finally a comment that's not pure cancer.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen Binkov announce the results of a video at the beginning, that’s how one-sided this is
Well he explained how so....
But you guys could never take the Falklands you have no navy, no army, no air force and your politicians literally take money from the countries GDP and put it into their personal account so they can spend it
But Argies have Latinamerica boys.
And many Latin American countries would go to help. And that would be WW3 for you. Brazilian laugh "kkkkkk"
@@juano9141 with America's help britain would dominate south America
@@ricksanchez1710 maybe yes or not.
I hope that England and the whole United Kingdom will never forget the help that Chile gave.
This was basically the convo between Chile and the UK
Chile: "You can use one of our islands, and we'll keep an eye out for any of their stuff"
Britain: "wow thanks bro I'll never forget this we shall be friends"
Rick Sanchez chile being clever, if argentina ever invaded again Uk would have no choice but to invade their mainland or else look weak and lose political influence/military influence, Uk would smash them easily and with chilean help even easier attacking from both sides also the Uk wouldnt want all the land so large portions of what use to belong to chile could be returned to them, Uk would occupy rich areas like the capital and ‘wait until peace returns’
RINGO1 England didn't, but the whole of the UK did - especially the Welsh. And to this day, I've no idea why
We don't forget - we will never forget. Chile and UK are friends and help each other. I was there in 82 and I know you helped us. It's not by accident that the Chilean Navy receives modern warships courtesy of the UK.
RINGO1 if Argentina invades chile they’ll be stuck between and unstoppable force and an immovable object
It was just on news. Argentine invasion force tried to invade Falklands last week, but the 3 dingies from Aldi got punctures, while still being blown up on the beach. One soldier had to be rushed home for some corned beef after feeling dizzy from blowing.
Also their aircraft carrier had to return back as they forgot to charge their drone overnight
I hope that man got a medal for his service. He almost gave his life for his country.

I'm argentinian, and this video is absolutely accurate, or at least 90% accurate. Politics has destroyed and keeps destroying our country.
I hear there are steps in currant Argentinian politics to deescalate the situation by giving up on the Falklands or at least postponing any demands for a little while.
Yes, thats true. I think the islands should belong to both countries, share its administration and have peace and prosperity ever after... but politicians are dumb beasts, thats why they are politicians in the first place... One day Argentina will have a mad president, will take us to war, and blood will be in politicians hands all over again, both sides.
DiegoALexis2079
The islanders have no interest in joint government and thus neither will the UK.
Refer to the end of my sentence then... This is a two nations matter.
+Primarch Alpharius This is about more then just the people living *on* the islands.
It's also about the rights to the resources within the waters around the islands both fishing, oil drilling and mining rights as well as strategic importance and national pride for two nations.
The only way to settle the issue long term is some kind of compromise from both sides.
Sharing the islands is potentially one such solution.
The thing is simple, we, the Argentinians didint have to start that awful war, just Galtieri wanted to flex and try to dont loose power in that period of time, and the shot came back, and im sayng that as an nationalist. We need to admit. We dont have anything better to give to the Kelpers (Falklanders, Malvinences) We dont have a good goverment since the XX century, We dont have a good military budget and forces to protect them, the only things that we can give to them would be, corruption, hunger, high crime rates and poverty. Its all we have atm.
The military branches, they are ok only in moral and money, but they lack of equipment, an example. Our pilots have to wait minimum 4 years after their entire training to finally can fly a plane because we have almost no planes. We lost 1 Submarine last year supposedly to a malfunction of a battery (Not so much people are sure about that) the other 2 submarines are in maintenance about 8 or 5 years i think, our naval army is very weak in ships and ammunition. And now, Macri have deployed some troops to the frontiers to fight the drug trafficking that is going on in the north of the country, along side with Gendarmeria that it was part of the Military but it was separated to be an Federal Force (The best
Good post Sr Sanchez. Respect due (and to your brave men who fought so hard in 1982)
So true... At the end of the day the islands belong to the people who live there.
If Argentina offered them a better way of life and more support then no pointless wars would ever need to be fought over the tiny place.
The People would just vote to become part of Argentina and Britain being a place of democracy would have to and be willing to honour it, just like they did with Hong Kong.
Problem now with Hong Kong though is the Chinese are bullying and going against the will of the people and they now want to be back under British rule.
Look after your people and they will repay you with loyalty.
Wow Mr. El Sanchez .. That was so pragmatic, wise and most of all .. so human ! Saludos para los Argentinos
The sad thing is we are not natural enemies. We have so much more in common.
The whole episode was a huge mistake with ultimately only one outcome. It would be nice to see Argentina get their shit together for the population's sake.
I’ve never heard the term “Argies” until I went through this comment section. I prefer it since it’s way more simple than saying “Argentinians” or “Argentines”

You missed that there is almost always a British nuclear submarine in the area.
Shhhh, we don't tell anyone that
@cesar garcia he didn't refer to nukes just that a British sub sank the general belgrano
@cesar garcia Nuclear powered... e.g. astute class attack sub... obviously not a vanguard class nuclear missile sub... they have to stay in range of Russia.
cesar garcia nuclear sub means nuclear powered not necessarily armed with nuclear missiles. More than likely Astute class submarines are around frequently enough and they’re the most potent in the world.
@@seniorslaphead8336 we have 6 we can easily send one to the islands if we wanted
Wow I had no idea there was so much military equipment and personnel down there, especially surprised at the Typhoons, they cost a fortune, like 100 million each.
Worth it though. Four modern, powerful jets, two state-of-the-art warships and a company of professional British soldiers. Means total air, land and sea superiority over anything Argentina can realistically send, and without having to keep half the actual proper British armed forces down there just in case
Yeah theres about 60 billion barrels of oil around the Falklands plus it gives us the Antarctic (Queens Elizabeth Land)
and that's not even counting the F-35s that are in service right now. The F-35s would make this even more lopsided than it already is rn
Well, the Falklands War cost the UK $1.19 Billion in 1982 money (about $3.2 Billion in 2020) so all that kit acting as a deterrent against another invasion looks like a pretty good investment.

Well it comes as no surprise, its as if North Korea tried to invade SK. Argentina wouldnt risk going at war against NATO without supersonic aircraft, glass cannons for tanks and a fraction of the troops they would have to face.
@@therealmp40 honestly it's more like North Korea trying to invade Okinawa for some reason.
They do have significant ground forces even if obsolete, but neither they nor Argentina really have the Navy to be pulling stunts like this
@@Joesolo13 The navy really isnt an important factor here, they barely movilized them during the 1982 war because they knew their ships stood no chance against the Royal Navy, so they were just there for logistics support.
What matters here is aerial superiority, which would be impossible today with Argentina's Air Force, since they don't have the Mirage, their Ground attackers or even a fraction of the A-4s they used to have, pulling off what they did in 1982 is literally impossible.
The army is not obsolete, in fact, it's on par in terms of equipment to the British, except for tanks and you could argue that the modernized FAL is better than the L8A1.
@Gar Could you please re-formulate your question? It's not really crystal clear for me what you are trying to say.
@Gar Well, the Challenger 2 is too heavy and would have a hard time at fighting in the Falklands, while the TAM not only can penetrate it but also is much better suited for the terrain, navy is irrelevant since as I said before, Argentina wouldnt use it, the only department were the British havea massive edge is in aircraft.

Using the land and employees that the company’s have at their disposal Burger King would be crushed by McDonald’s
This war will be more based in a market share gain since flavor is very subjective. McDonald have more repertoire of menus that fills up every population niche, however big numbers don't mean better, they have a good product like the mcflury for example but the mccoffe is just crap. Burger King is smaller company to fail, that's an advantage and disadvantage. Their outstanding marketings give Burger King a good room for market penetration than McDonald (years of tainted reputation). However size advantage will take over by McDonald's, they have better market knowledge and client niche analysis than Burger King so later on they will come with a menu plan that will surpass Burger King in any given market, state or country, that plus they have more assets and bigger employees around the world. Labor force is about the same quality, same demographics and about the same pay, equal customer service. Health watch: both sucks if you compare to Subway.. And it only gets worse for Argentina, as the first Queen Elizabeth class supercarrier will be ready for launch after 2017. Meaning the UK will have power projection equivalent to a US carrier battle group.
that ship is unbelievable
I believe it's already been launched. It's due to enter service in 2021, and the sister-ship will be launched in 2018.
BeardedBill86 It doesn't even have catapults, and neither is it nuclear! It could've been so damn better :(
We have nuclear subs
The QE class carrier is a white elephant.
It isn't even remotely in the same league as a US carrier battle group. I see US carrier fleets come in to Hong Kong now and again. It's not just the carrier it's the support ships. A US carrier group has the carrier, two air defence frigates, two missile cruisers several supply ships and an attack sub at the very least. They also carry a wing of 50+ aircraft.
The above is for defence in depth. As it was learned in WWII that if a carrier is used alone without the above defences and support vessels it will be sunk very quickly.
The QE class only has 14 aircraft (capacity is 50) ordered for it and 19 frigates in total. Here's where it gets worse. The new Daring class frigates don't work properly as they have a badly designed cooling system for the engine.
It gets worse. As the Royal Navy can't afford to replace their missiles. The Harpoon will be retired at the end of 2017 and nothing is going to replace it until 2029. The Sea Viper ASTER the Royal Navy ordered it for 2010 but the first one was tested in 2014. They can't afford to replace those either Daring used one in 2016.
Basically Argentina isn't prepared to fight another war and UK is.
Good video, but no mention of UK's nuclear submarines?
David Moore there was non in Falklands by 2017
Binkov doesn't usually take allies, morale and nuclear factors into account, focusing only on conventional warfare
The subs role is to roam UK waters and act as a mobile Nuke site, they are not at all intended for an offencive role they are a pure deterent.
The subs would be highly unnecessary in this scenario. Even though at least one sub patrols the waters of the world, it would not be called into action unless there was a serious threat (i.e. an argie ship getting through).
You misunderstand the difference in submarines. Our Vanguard class (soon to be upgraded to new Dreadnought class) nuclear subs would not engage in conventional warfare - that is not their purpose. But there is nothing stopping our Trafalgar (or new Astute) class Hunter-Killers from entering any naval arena.
Argentine ships sink by themselves even when they're docked, and almost all their fighters are outdated and grounded due to lack of maintenance and cannibalization. Those facts are enough to make any further explanation unnecessary.
Britain can't a second Falklands war but for Argentina it is like looking for a Someone in Space ( Observable universe area 9,300,000,000,000,000,000,000 km across ) The Argentine Navy Destroyers are a third the size of the Type 45 and their Air defences have a 6th of the Range, Even when argentina tried to buy Saab Gripens they won't save their airforce they would be Useless against Eurofighters which weigh almost 2x as much
After the last war, the Argentinian ships and planes have decided they don't want another round and have decided to corrode and scuttle themselves so they can die with dignity. xD
@@justatungstenrod9173 actually we wouldn't need to FIGHT a second Falklands War as just overcoming the EXISTING GARRISON on the islands themselves would be beyond Argentina at present, but if we somehow did have to actually retake them again, trust me the British armed forces COULD do it if we had to

For those who think that Chile betrayed Argentina: Argentina agrees with Chile to solve the Beagle conflict peacefully in 1971 (Salvador Allende and Alejandro Lanusse, the Presidents of Chile and Argentina's Junta sign a treaty). In May 1977 the arbitration gives the islands in the Beagle to Chile. in February 1978 Argentina's Junta declares the arbitration completely invalid. And requests the islands to be given to Argentina immediately. Chile asks Argentina to respect their word (and the treaty) but la junta doesnt give shit about honor and treaties. And threatens Chile to give the Islands or face a full-scale invasion (operacion soberania) Does that attitude sound familiar? Thanks to the USA's pressure, and the fact that Chileans, 3 times weaker in those years, still prepared full defense till the last minute, Argentinians withdrew from attacking. But until 1984 they refused to sign a treaty of peace and friendship, honoring the arbitration. So when they did the same thing to the British, well, what do you expect? Chileans were not going to be friends with a neighbor who did not want peace, instead has been threatening them with full-scale war against them. It's simple. Chile made sure that Argentina lost the war bc that way that dangerous, murderer, and aggressive junta would be dissolved and then, we could finally have some peace.
@@matid9687 LOL!!!!! So ignorant, the arbitration was by the British Crown you fool!

I would say that there's one more thing that had Chile scared and is the fact that if We (Argentina) would have won the war, it was obvious that the next thing that followed was a war with Chile.
Is it a kind of treason? Yes
But that betrayal, surely, was induced by the Belligerent Attitude of the Military Gov. (Lieutenant Gral. Galtieri, the Drunk Bastard) and the Direct Threats they were given.

Could you do Australia vs. Indonesia, and North vs. South Korea
johnjet98 ROK (South Korea) would win in days, even if the DPRK (North Korea) could build and launch its nukes the ROK would crush North Koreas Cold War era equipment, although the South Korean population and industry would be almost completely devastated for years to come
its true that south korea has advantage in tech, in fact it has several decades more modernised equipment than north korea. However, war is won with men. north korea has a military force of 5million troops ready anytime , south korea has less and would be hard to mobilise fast enough when enemy already threatening borders. i dont doubt that south korea would win, but not as fast as you think.
Aus vs Indonesia would be very interesting. A small well trained army on a large landmass vs a numerous untrained army on a small landmass separated by a bit of sea. Will only become more relevant as the china seas tensions rise.
Alucard Our (Australia) Navy and Airforce are our only deterrent against Indonesia. We only have 3 active Army Brigades (9,000 men on paper in total), which isn't even enough to defend all our major coastal cities. If Indonesia was able to eventually build a competent Airforce they could destroy our navy just through the usage of air-launched anti-ship missiles as our navy ships don't have any over the horizon radar capabilities. After that the only problem for Indonesia would be power projection (transporting there troops overseas) and our airforce.
Alex T Sounds like Binkov should settle this!
It sounds to me like Argentina is virtually defenseless. I think a well coordinated boy scout troop might actually be able to occupy most of their country.

Not needed...the RAF would have things mopped up before the RN could make it down there.
She hasn't been fully operational since her late 40s or so (my guess, not first hand knowledge), but the two were enough.
British aircraft carriers make this completely impossible, even if the Argentine military budget goes up by 3-4x, the only chance they had was before the Queen Elizabeth class carriers were complete.
The carriers still have to get there in time
If somehow they captured the falklands within 72 hours with surprise, they could rebuild the airstrips and contest the skies
Of course that would assume a present day conflict, which for the current Air Force, would be insufficient against Queen Elizabeth’s F-35 carrier wing
@@looinrims even if they got those new JF-17 Thunder aircraft from China via Pakistan they'd still stand no chance against F35's no matter what, and given the strength of the garrison, the weakness of the Argentine navy and the presence of radar on the islands, I don't see how the Argentines could possibly take the islands by surprise OR actually overcome the garrison either way even if they did, at least not within sufficient time before British reinforcements arrived
