      Bro I'm saying!!! Disagreement debates like these should be interesting and thought-provoking for EVERYONE involved. When you have these morons who don't even really know what they're debating, go on the stream to debate, it becomes boring because Colin and SK almost immediately shuts it down. It's made even worse when they just keep talking and regurgitating themselves. They have a whole lot to say but end up saying nothing that truly contributes to the debate.

      I think it really speaks to how solid Colin and SK's points are. It would take someone else who has around the same validity in their arguments in order to actually entertainingly argue with them. The reason why the people who are debating with them seem like "fools" is because they don't really have any good reason for why they disagree. For example, the Sam Raimi spiderman dude in the video just keeps saying that green goblin wasn't character assassinated because he "feels like the goblin [he] knew in 2007." If anyone were to come on their stream and have an entertaining debate, they would have to actually prepare points with enough evidence and logic that correctly support their statements instead of just saying f*ck it and going into disagreement day guns blazing like these "fools." It's an uphill battle, especially with Colin and SK already having established their arguments through the large amount of time spent analyzing and justifying their points in the process of making their videos. I just wanna clarify as well, I totally agree with your statement. I also agree a lot with Colin's points in his videos. W RUclipsr.

Quinton elaborates how the elementals are multidimensional beings that destroyed his world and killed his wife which he points out through the ring on his finger. He also elaborates that they are coming back to destroy Peter's but Peter doesn't make an attempt or effort to stop it. Mysterio's illusions are obviously fake and the elementals aren't real threats. But Peter doesn't know that yet still doesn't make the attempt to stop the attack even if he'd lose. One of the core fundamentals of Peter Parker's character is that he will always look out for the little guy and always be there for the people first as the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. But if the world is gonna die, he'll make every attempt he can to stop it and keep fighting. Even at the cost of his life. I think alot of those conversation kinda ignores that, Peter is still like 16 in this movie……and actively lacks the “with great power comes great responsibility” moment
    So the stuff that’s seen as “Peter not caring” is more-so him caring, but being selfish and prioritizing his personal life more. Which is something he often times *refuses to do* post “great power, great responsibility”
    And there’s also the specific journey this Peter goes through that explains his character becoming like this, compared to him in infinity war and endgame. We meet him as a kid that’s eager to impress his idol….whereas by this movie, he’s struggling alot more with finding his balance in life. This ties back to my first point as well….he lacks that *true* selflessness……because he never really had it. Its was all posturing + necessity from him being a loner.
    And that’s what makes the ending of NWH such an effective decision for MCU Peter to me. It’s him finally taking that step into what it means to be SpiderMan. It’s him finally realizing the responsibility he has.
    Put Post NWH Peter (as they’ve tried to set him up to be) in any of the other movies, and your complaints about the character probably go away
    *Granted, they definitely could have done something to make certain things fit together in the larger context. It always seems like they approach these movies with nothing more than a loose outline of where the character should go to tie it all together….and then everything else around it is just done with only itself as consideration*

    • @BirdsElopeWithTheSun09
      @BirdsElopeWithTheSun09 Месяц назад +2

      I disagree he lacks the “with great power comes great responsibility” moment. In Civil War, he says that: "when you can do the things that I can, but you don't and then the bad things happen; they happen because of you." Peter had already realized the responsibility that he has.

    • @Kurotama11
      @Kurotama11 Месяц назад +1

      @@BirdsElopeWithTheSun09 I mean he lacks that specific “canon event” for lack of a better term
      Like, there’s a major difference between general sense of responsibility and *guilt based* sense of responsibility
      A person who’s had a family member die of cancer, will often *never* turn down a chance to donate to those who have it…..as opposed to the normal person, that understands the responsibility, yet doesn’t have enough personal skin in the game, so they only donate “when they can”
      He has *some* sense of responsibility, yes, otherwise he just wouldn’t have been Spider-Man at all…..but without that more personal moment, it makes sense for him to have times where he just wants to be a selfish kid, and is like “dawg, let the fing Avengers handle it….i wanna go to prom”

    • @BirdsElopeWithTheSun09
      @BirdsElopeWithTheSun09 Месяц назад

      @@Kurotama11 That way Peter says it makes it sound like he does have a guilt based sense of responsibility, presumable from Uncle Ben's death. I think it's very obvious that we are supposed to assume that Peter lost Unlce Ben in similar way to other movies, or at least that something bad happened to Peter that feels guilty about.
      "it makes sense for him to have times where he just wants to be a selfish kid" - Not if the world is at stake. And Fury told him that no other heroes were available. And he left his prom date in Homecoming to go after the Vulture. I don't believe for a second that Peter would not help Mysterio just becasue he felt unsure about himself.

    While I can confidently agree with ffh being a genuine mess of a film the arguments u presented are just ridiculous lmao.
    1. Stop using edge of time as an example just because they explain he’s similar to the base level interpretation of Peter doesn’t mean he’s completely the same, u have literally no context of his mental state prior or anything he’s gone through with anyone on his earth to reach this point, he could just interpret the uncle Ben speech a little differently, and his mentality might just be different and that specific choice is hard for him too deal with. Also Peters plan is to risk potentially helping both but caring more about his loved ones which shows him still caring about the city and u have no prior context of how he specifically deals with risks lol.
    2. Peter couldve have examined at multiple points if people were looking before he fought unmasked, or even if ppl did find out and look to see him fighting he would’ve just explained it was temporary tech by the hero’s of he found it randomly at the cust of the battle for protection? U realize this universe and especially peters class are really stupid(big issue with the movie) and are written to not understand certain things right?
    3. Peters mentality before the sheild things was completely tampered with along with him already being young, probably saturated and sick of crime fighting, and probably was going to wait to ACTUALLY see how bad the elementals are before dropping his trip. Once again brother u have literally no context of how Peter deals with this kind of stress or how his mentality could be compromised please make points about ACTUAL contradictions lmao.
    The problem with this type of content is not only what ur saying 7 times out 10 wrong and stupid but inherently subjective presented as objective problems with films. Everything u point out to a certain amount of ppl literally could be solved by simply stating every universe has things that might seem like condridictions to us but make sense in the actual universe. What if I said “the plot hold goblin took ahold of this character and made him do this thing” then what? After that whether u like or feel satisfied with that answer is subjective. U thinking ur personal view on media is objective and everyone else’s is either stupid or subjective is exactly why u lack media literacy and aren’t even worth taking serious lmao.

    Spider-Man 2 is the greatest one in y’all eyes… so when Tobey gives up being Spider-Man it’s all good. But when Tom does its character assassination? Tf. And ion wanna hear “tobey had a reason” bruh Toms mentor was Ironman the greatest hero ever (in his universe) and he had to watch him die. That was traumatic for him, and he doesn’t think he can fill his shoes. Not assassination just simply he’s a kid doubting himself.

      Spider-Man 2 isn't the greatest in our eyes. And yes Tom leaving the entire world to die while he's happy about not wanting to help. Is blatant character assassination, he would die as well, and it would make Tony Starks sacrifice meaningless on Earth.
      Tobey in Spider-Man 2 isn't dealing with the end of the world, his life is falling apart, and his powers are working inconsistently and he's losing them. So yes him quitting being Spider-Man in that movie makes sense. Tom not wanting to help with the end of the world isn't justified by literally anything...

I mean we can sit here and nitpick every little detail and call it “character assassination” but that would just be absurd. Just because the story doesn’t go your way doesn’t mean it’s bad. I mean he literally learns his lesson during the movie and still saves the day. Plus…Beck was a narcissistic supervillain whose whole character is built off of illusion and lies. Not hard for him to trick Tom into giving up Edith and convincing him he’s a better option to save the world, especially since Tom was a grieving teenager who’s already seen his demise in a world ending event before.

    I personally never took the MCU movies seriously, it was just fun and entertaining to watch. The only MCU movies which I seriously took were Avengers Endgame & Infinty War. I am a huge Spidey fan, I've watched all shows and movies, read many comics to know enough about him and the brand. I'm the type of fan that would defend the tasm series and Spider-man 3 at all costs. Yes I did enjoy those movies, I actually did like them. Now by the looks of it, Colin and another YTuber criticized the mcu spidey movies and the character. What they say isn't totally wrong but for me personally, I don't take this version of spidey seriously. Yes the portrayal is not the best of all live actions, maybe worst. I don't like the the whole spidey being a sidekick of Tony situation, but it was new. It worked fine till FFH. Like Peter was being ridiculously stupid, even though he is a teenager, he wasn't taking things seriously. My only reasoning for that is that the MCU is just that way, everything is just a joke and chaos, comical at times as well. The MCU portrays more of the quirky sides of superheroes, which is something I've noticed, so that combined with Peter being 16-17 in FFH, makes sense. Now coming to NWH. It was a fun movie, it was fan service at it's finest. The multiverse, old spideys and villains, it was amazing. I loved seeing Tobey and Andrew back, it was just an amazing experience. The comedy and references were amazing, it was a combination of nostalgia and new. The very end of that movie changed my perspective on the MCU spidey. My speculation is that the Uncle Ben event wasn't too impactful, so all the horrible stuff happens in NWH to shape this character. Peter went through a lot of stuff as a high school student and now his identity is erased, basically a restart for Peter, but Spidey continues his thing. I think people took this character a bit too serious and that's where all this criticism came from. Even Doctor Strange didn't take Peter as a serious threat and he was going easy. Maybe Tony did do something dumb by giving Peter the EDITH glasses. Yes the could've kept Quentin Beck under the radar in case he did smth. Yeah the writing isn't great but I'm sure everyone enjoyed the dialogues and screen presence. Now the criticism would make sense if this after the tragic event in NWH, and moving forward the mcu movies portrayed Spider-man as still a not so mature dumb hero. After all, this version of Spider-man has just started his journey. He literally grew up in a world with other superheroes so he might've not been able to shine in his early stages. He was a young teenager in the mcu, he's going to make a lot mistakes for sure. Now that all the Avengers have basically retired and he's the next generation of frontline heroes, we will hopefully see a newer and more mature version of that Peter, you never know. Not all Spider-man Stories have to be the same.

Like why would the guy who almost oofed himself over a weapon-trade ring act so irresponsible over a potential cataclysm? It’s far too out of character by their own standard.
