Freaking FINALLY!!!! I thought I was losing my mind thinking I remembered a different version of this song than what is available today!!! I KNEW I remembered a version with a much better sound to it and a great guitar riff that isn’t on the version these days. I knew I wasn’t crazy!!!! Hot damn! Thank you so much for posting this!!
Me too, Karina! You weren't crazy. This is what they now refer to as the Radio Edit....the one we all remember and loved, without all the added background voices and all the other additions to the arrangement.
Same here. I've looked forever and gave up deciding to look again and found it. YAY!!! I had the old cassette single in high school when it came out. I'm ecstatic.
I was 9 when this came out singing it like I knew something about love 🤣🤣...I played the hell outta this song on my tape player, 😭😭 man the memories lol if only we could go back
The first version I heard on the radio and the version I fell in love with. Lucky enough to have this on a CD single - remember those??? Great song from a great musician.
No US stations ever played this version. I remember when this song came out very well. This version sucks and I don't like it. I liked the other version which is the only one I have ever heard before.
@@ericdraven7185 I live in a Canadian border city between the US and Canada, however all of our main radio stations come from the US (Detroit). This is the version they played on the radio there (which I don't like either). I just assumed the rest of the US played that version. However, Much Music used to play the video all the time and it was the regular album version they played which is miles ahead better. Far more emotional. According to Discogs, the US promo CD single was the "remix" (this version in the video) as track 1. Track 2 was the LP version. They run the same time. This version was also on the commercial US cassette single. Oddly enough, the US commercial CD single had the LP version, lol. Go figure.
Omg this is the version I had on my cassette single and it took me forever to find it finally. Thank you for uploading this one. For a while I thought I was trippin thinking it may have never existed lol.
1995 was the year I first started really getting into music as a kid, and I always loved hearing this song on the radio. I've been looking for this version for years! My 25 year old memories are of course fuzzy, but I knew the album version sounded off to me and that there must be a radio version out there somewhere. So stoked to find it, thanks for the upload!
I was just listening to the other version after not hearing it for yrs...and thought it did sound right . THIS is the one I remember!!!! I wasn't remembering it wrong!!
This is a live cut in a radio station that was released on vinyl single thats why it’s so good and rare to find. I have honestly been combing through everything for years for this cut and still haven’t found it as an MP3. Only on RUclips

THANK YOU!!!! I’ve been searching for YEARS on RUclips, iTunes, and numerous streaming services for THIS version of Jan Arden’s Insensitive! I’m so happy you uploaded it! This is the best version of this song! Which album is this off of?
maridean56 The original song was on “Living Under June” but I think I found this version on a “Hitdisc” CD at a used CD store. I had it on my computer and when I went to look for the CD I couldn’t find it, but if I remember correctly, that’s where I got it. I think it was only released to radio stations.
This is the "Remix". It was only released commercially on the U.S. cassette single of "Insensitive" and later as the 7" vinyl B-side of "Good Mother". The U.S. promo CD (issued only to radio stations) and a couple radio promotional CDs are the only places where this "Remix" has ever appeared on CD. A&M (now owned by Universal Music) has really dropped the ball in making the hit radio versions of huge songs like this one available in today's digital and streaming industry. They have been completely lost to history! What a shame! By the way, I think that the "Remix" is brilliant and gives the song that extra something that was missing in the original "LP Version".
@@quinnthereaux7719 You're welcome. So many hit versions of songs have been long forgotten. This is just one of many. The album versions have replaced most hit versions, unfortunately.
THANK YOU FOR THIS VERSION!!!! You have ended my ~20-year quest. I heard it on the Satellite Radio service (ykwim), but, you know, you get to hear it once every.... week? The Album version is not bad, but compared to this one... Never going back to the album version.
Thanks so much for uploading this, Ryan's Tube. I had the cassette and have been looking for this version online for years. One RUclipsr had it up a long time ago (strangely enough, from a 45, I believe), but he took his video down, and I've looked for this version ever since. I'm bookmarking you and subscribing so that I'll never lose it. And BTW, the interlude on this version with the "cowbell" just can't be beat! I don't understand why A&M doesn't re-release it rather than the rather uninspiring album version. Thanks again. Much appreciated.
I don't consider this the "rare, alternate" version. To me, this is the original version that I heard back in '96 on the radio. This is the version I loved and couldn't get enough of, before it was redone with all those background vocals and other "enhancements".
That's what brought me here. Reminds me of the last time I saw a guy I was madly in love with. By the time he closed the car door and drove off I knew I would never see him again. This was many years ago and I moved on but this song describes exactly how I felt and my observations.
I'm confused. Are there 2 versions of her Living Under June album? This is the version I remember and prefer it MUCH more than the other version I found on Spotify.
Yeah, but over time some songs haven’t really spread throughout the internet like others. Like how you can’t find almost any Aaliyah songs that came out after her first album on any streaming platforms (other than youtube) or to download. Or how that Dionne Farris song “I Know” was irritatingly hard to find until about a year ago (nostalgic+ 90s radio song).

The BEST version. Should've just used this one for release.
It doesn't matter how many versions there are.... This song simply rules.Goosebumps whenever l listen to it. She sings so gracefully.

Not sure. It was labeled as a “radio version” in my library.
"Remix" on the U.S. promo CD and commercial cassette single.
