Hi i own this. I spent a lot of time restoring the amp in it. It has two el95 as outputs per channel. Everything now works. Unfortunately its in a shipping container in melbourne on my friends farm. I moved to china. Hope to take it there one day. The sound is great...thanks for all the comments. Its not for sale.

Hello friend I would like to know if you can help me and it is not too much to ask I have the same console !!! but the record player does not work ... I would like to know if you can take a picture of the part of the connection of the record player motor I think it has 4 or 5 cables .. but these are disconnected I put them directly, it turns but it does not actuate the needle Can you send me a photo of the motor part of the record player please ... and the connection of the needle cables ... please !!!

I have the exact console with the real to reel and record player, but the real to reel and record player does not work. Hopefully I can find a good repair man.

The tape unit would need belts and the motor start capacitor needs to be replaced. The turntables only need all the old grease removed and oiled and greased to work

I have the same console. I do not have the reel to reel. I used the plug as rca line out to connect to modern devices
I KNOW you're right, ever see the stupid prices people TRY to get for even shot beat up german consoles? lol there's even one that's been running (of course it will never ever sell) for 3500 bucks lololol most over price them at around 500 bucks those don't sell either obviously wonder why they keep posting them so high no one buys them and then they post it again at the same or sometimes even higher prices lol etards I guess what elese explains it? lol

Hey to be honest they aren't worth as much as they were back in the day i see them all the time in good will or furniture shops they usually go for around $40 to $50 depending the size and quality and shape.

Let's assume you know that from personal experience. Otherwise, how could anyone know about sound quality from a RUclips video, whose audio track has been picked up by a regular camera mic?
My parents bought a Grundig console very much like this one when Dad was stationed in Weisbaden in the early 60's. I was a child when we used to listen to my Dad play his guitar and record himself with the reel to reel. I used to love to watch the green "eye"open and close as he sang. Thanks a million for posting.
Now the Reel to reel versions are the expensive ones and hard to get since they were not really being made as much.

As a German radios collector, I really like this brand. Sounds great, with deep basses, and grundig is almost the only brand to offer so much control over the sound called wunchklang.
I don't have a console however because it takes too much space.

Hi the grundigs dont have a top arm on the record stack.. They kinda just stay there...not sure how many records it can take. I have a 40 ft container full of stuff like this..used to buy them and had two bedrooms full..then moved to china so put them in a shipping container...about 60 grundig console radios some with record players on the top. Also about 80 grundig and similiar valve reel to reels...will stick a photo up one day..ha

I just found out, Dec 2017, someone broke into the container where these are stored in Melbourne West and stole everything. The container had not only this unit, but another 200+ Greman Console Radios and Reel to Reels, and Vintage Transistor equipment, library of manuals and books on Vintage Electronics.. If anybody every sees this unit in Australia, please contact me. Very sad day.

Beautiful....not just the song....but I love that console...
It was recorded with a handy cam. The sound is actually way better than the video. Its picks up short wave with only a short wire. But the ambience is just beautiful. Hope it survived being a shipping container on a farm for the past 7 years. Hoping to go see if its still there in 2018.
Anyone have a list of common issues with these? Mine powers up but no sound. Thanks.
Power Supply Rectifier is main problem. Check the DC voltage is in spec, and change the old rectifiers if needed. Most other problems are the old paper Capacitors. I replaced ALL of the smaller ones, (not the main DC supply). That is the only electronic problems. Rest are the mechaincals.
