No more quadjets. The end of a beautiful era. At least the 747s have a life after passenger service, but the 380 will go straight to the boneyard. The 380s are really neat, but they weren't very well thought out. However, I'm not certain the 380 could have been built with an eye toward freighter service. It's difficult to say. Nevertheless, it's a beautiful catch, Kevin! I wonder if the final 747 ever built comes into LAX for a visit?
In 2019, Lufthansa had retired 6 of its 14 A380s due to their unprofitability. Later that year Qatar Airways announced a switch from the A380 to the Boeing 777X starting from 2024. In February 2019, Airbus announced it would end A380 production by 2021, after its main customer, Emirates, agreed to drop an order for 39 of the aircraft, replacing it with 40 A330-900s and 30 A350-900s. However, the $445 million price tag of each aircraft was not sufficient to even cover the production cost, so with Airbus losing money on each A380, and with orders evaporating, it made economic sense to cease production. Enders stated on 14 February 2019, "If you have a product that nobody wants anymore, or you can sell only below production cost, you have to stop it."

So, what, they're not making any new A380's anymore? Just using the one's already manufactured?

She’s so clean
Such a beast!!!
cool
hi there my friends in LosAngles ❤
An aviation marvel!!
AirBus never recouped their money they lost a few Billion Dollars on that plane. It cost Airbus more to make one 380 then what they made in profit 😟
👀
Beautiful landing and take off but sad knowing the A380 will soon fade into history.
First lol
Beautiful ❤️
