+Mark Yelavich No sir, THE best Rock and Blues voice of all time! Paul Rodgers can sing pretty much anything as long as it requires soul and emotion. Other singers like Coverdale (also great in his time) come and go but PR endures. Total respect to the man.....

Just one fine example of why you should check this brilliant "star studded" album out ! Well, why the heck are you still hanging around... go check the rest !
this version of this song, along with Pat Travers version are the two best out there, and I have probably at least a dozen versions from different artists, and have heard another dozen or so.
@97teledlx I hear that! This version has become the defining version of this song in my mind. Neal schon always sounds good with Paul Rodgers it seems.
That Is Because Very few People Look here You Only Got 5 likes in 8 Years Lol...they are both Great I play guitar...And Jeff Is just To Stiff For Me Neil Rocks It...Listen To Neil Schon & Beth Hart On The Song { I Wanna No You} Then get Back To Me............
@@jayfalco8635 Heard the track you referred to:. Apparently, you're a fan of tone swimming in oceans of reverb & echo. (I'd say it's not "stiff"_enough_.) I'd suggest a Beck track, but the issue's closer to 100 tracks. In the meantime, try the Yardbirds' "The Nazz Are Blue" , (a rare JB vocal) for a more judicious use of echo. 1966. (Neal was 12. Likely a _strong_ influence.)
Yknow. I never understood what the big deal was about a singer. You either got it or you don't. Everyone practices their pipes every damn day of their lives from the time they're born to the time they croak. A singer is pretty lame without a band but a band doesn't need a singer. Learning an instrument to be an extention of your imagination takes alot more skill than singing. With singing you either have a good voice or you don't but you have to have something pleasant there to start out with and no amount of practice will fix that as opposed to playing an instrument. The more you practice the better you'll sound. That said this is a great version of the muddy watters classic. I'll put it this way . My voice sux and even in the shower it don't sound good except to me. At least my timings good . lol
ZFlyingVLover I know what you mean man.. I mean some people with great voices are just born to sing like Mr. Rodgers... some people were born to play guitar like Jimi Hendrix... then there are some people that were born to talk out their asses... go figure... you either have it or you don't...
+ZFlyingVLover Man you are full of shit! A REAL singer has to learn to use their instrument every bit as well as any other musician. A great voice doesn't just appear without learning the techniques, the breathing, the nuances and when to turn the power on and off. Mr Rodgers has it all in spades - I speak as a time served Rock and Blues singer of 35 years. Truly we are not worthy....
***** The point is that using a voice takes very little concentration versus extendng your thoughts via an external device like a piano, guitar trumpet etc. If you have to strain your brain to sound good then you're dumber than a door knob because you either have something to work with or nothing there in the 1st place. No amount of technique can fix a bad voice. However, small hands don't necessarily mean you cannot be a kick ass on piano or guitar. Why, because the mechanical aspect determining the quality of the tone is external. You just have to find a way. Alot of people who say they can't sing sound great in the shower but are too self conscious in public to sound good. Yet those people already have a solid core to sound well in public too. They just need to figure out how to bring it out.
Agreed it's a natural thing but each singer will deliberately work on different accents, notes, nuances, vibrato and phrasing. I know I've been singing in public for 51 years from Church choir through Metal. AOR, Blues, Soul etc.
+ZFlyingVLover Paul Rodgers also plays guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, and harmonica. On his solo album, "Cut Loose", he plays all the instruments. Granted, he isn't a virtuoso and these instruments, but he doesn't take a back seat to any other rock or blues singer.
A little English boy living in north east England heard the blues and said, "that's what I want to do!"
Thank goodness 🙏 🕉!
The best singer ever... Been listening to muddy water blues ... Dang... I absolutely love his voice!!! ♥️.
I would listen to Paul Rogers sing the phone book.
LOL....ME TOOO!!!!
what a great album!
Paul Rodgers and Neal Schon are so great together. They did a tribute to Hendrix album together too. And toured together years back.
Smokin'.

This whole album is straight 🔥
Paul is truly blessed and also does excellent covers too ❤❤❤✌️🎶💓🙏💓🎹🎸
The Voice..greatest blues singer.
Roger is a GREAT singer, but he's maybe the second (speaking of white singers). Don't have that "growl" into his voice. The first af all: Gregg Allman.
this is kick ass!!!! One of my favorite singers and songs, Schon kicks it!!!!!
"This version has become the defining version of this song in my mind"... 100% with you!

I wouldn't have no luck at all
I ain't lyin'
If it wasn't for bad luck
I wouldn't have no kind-a luck
If it wasn't for real bad luck,
I wouldn't have no luck at all

A big legged woman is
Gonna carry me to my grave

If it wasn't for bad luck,
I wouldn't have no luck at all

I guess Neal Shon's good enough for those times when when you can't get Jeff Beck.
I Would Rather Have N. Schon Then Jeff Beck Any Day Of the Week

even one dislike is too many....must have been an error...i hope
Ya, Jeff Beck and Rogers would be a great match.
FYI ... Beck is on this album. Track 12. I Just Want To Make Love To You
Lead Guitar - Jeff Beck
Neal Schon likes to play 50 notes where just 2 would do
Rubbish! Neal Schon is a fantastic guitar player. He was even invited to join Clapton's Dominos when he was a teenager but joined Santana instead!
@@1600362 I concur; he restrains himself on Lights; but he lets some blister bluster go here with Paul ~~~
Who's the bass player?
Jason Bonham on drums, Pino Palladino on bass and Ian Hatton on rhythm guitar
What year was this ?
"Muddy Water Blues" (Electric Version) 1993
