Surina you’re a queen, thanks for the content
Great Content! and free too. you're such a blessing Surina!
Dr, could you make a video about obgyn specialization, how long does the training takes and the competitiveness for img?
Hi, i am following your videos for the last few days. These are really nice.I would like to know is there any videos of you discussing the competent pathway to be a doctor in Australia. I am working as a clinical fellow ( fy2 equivalent non training post) after clearing plab.
Thanks
Hey Surina, I was one of your medical students a couple of years ago (Thanks for signing my CbDs lol). Glad to see you're doing well. I too will be coming go Australia. I'm done with NHS 😊
Good to see Dr Surina has returned to the NHS, the precious backbone of healthcare delivery in the UK.
Hi, its so nice to your you narrating everything so aunthentically. I am also planning to shift to australia as a doc,If you dont mind , can you share some insight about working in ED, as in the timings, shifts, culture. I relate to you so much on time and travel part.
Thank you for the useful information.
I have a question : How hard is it for an IMG to get into surgery specialty in Australia?
I am a medical student and I like to travel and I see you like to travel too. Not sure if this is why you went to Australia to work as a doctor but in the UK/NHS, do you not have time off to travel as a doctor or does Australia give you more time off?
Could you suggest some specialities that are high in demand/ paid higher due to the shortage of doctors available?
Hey
Can you do locums if you have that 10 year moratorium? Should you do locums in DWS or DPA areas only ?
Please explain how it works
Hey! Thanks for this informative video. Wanted to ask, how does it bode with you working in different hospitals and not being used to the systems? Do you get some time to adapt and get your log ins sorted? And do different areas in Australia have different guidelines like in the UK?
Hi Is it possible continuing residency program (which is in Germany) in America by passing the relevant exams or I will start in Amerika this residency program from first year
Hey Surina
Do you know any GPs in AUSTRALIA?
Will be massive help if you can interview one if they are happy with their decision of moving to Australia?
Hi! I have been enjoying your videos. I am a mature student starting medicine next year on a 5 year programme. I really want to end up moving to Australia permanently but I don't know how feasible this would be since by the time I go after F2 I will be 37 🥺. I have tried researching but I cant find anyone with personal experience of this. Can you do a video on how to move to Australia to complete GP speciality training (if this is even possible) as well as hoping to get permanent residency. Hopefully, starting this process at 37 wouldn't be too late for me. I am also just about to have my first baby, which is also making me re-think a career as a doctor and work life balance, which I never thought would happen! But I can't think of an alternative career since I have wanted this for so long. I have a biomed degree but not sure if that's helpful with careers I would enjoy and able to move to AUS with.
Make the move before you're 45, the usual cut-off for immigration.
How many hours you can work as locum??
Which Uni did u go to in the UK
you said you quit medicine full time,
what is making you come back to it again
Hey surina
Did you come to decision whether will you stay in medicine or leave???
Not yet!
What about the visa situation? Do you need a new nomination?
I didn't but it's very case dependent and the Locum company should help you with figuring out what you need to do visa wise
Hi thank you for your videos 😊
I have been wondering, as an IMG from Europe, assuming i will pursue residency in UK/Ireland will i be able to get accepted directly as a specialist in Australia without taking any significant extra steps?
Can you tell me, why do you want to leave europe??? Is it cuz of language or pay???
If you do the PLAB and have full GMC registration, you can apply to Aus via the competent authority pathway. Hope this helps!
There's also a specialist pathway which may take into account your years in training, but note that if you become a consultant, there's a 10 year moratorium where you have to work in rural areas (only for certain specialties and even then I believe public hospitals are exempt from this, especially for specialty training, hence the high number of Brits in urban hospitals).

Not sure if the poster above works in the NHS...
The pay for junior doctors in the UK is HORRIBLE, and there's a high workload with barely any training opportunities (it's difficulty for FYs and even IMT1 and 2s to learn how to do an LP, for instance... mostly because PAs and ACP/ANPs get preference for learning procedures). A lot of the work is service provision (eg discharge letters, and scribing the ward round notes). The NHS is broken and there's a high degree of scope creep from "noctors".
As for mainland Europe, many southern european nations also have low pay and poor staffing levels...
@@colephelps7816 Thanks for your reply. I do know about competent pathway but I'm confused about specialities , as I heard it's hard to get into main streams like cardio, neuro and also to be become a surgeon
@@colephelps7816 what do you think about Germany? Compare to UK, it has better pay and work/ life balance and also the main thing about working is one can get into specialities which it's for IMG to get in. BUT drawback is language 🙂🙃.
Hello Surina, I really appreciate your work. The Content is super amazing and very informative. However, you seem to be inconsistent in the content post and Video editing. I know you're swamped with work and have busy days. So for these reasons, I want to be part of this journey and would like to assist you in all aspects of social media growth from editing to creativity. My experience will surely save days-hours of time and effort. Please let me know when you are available to discuss this.
