  • Now before you start flaming me about the processor heat sink...yes I do now realize the logos are upside down lol. It didn't make sense that the logos would be on the bottom, and I didn't know which side was up on the DeepCool logo, so I mounted it upside down on accident. With that out of the way, I hope you like this change of pace before we get back to our regular gaming content! Stay around until the end for some benchmarks!

The extra 4 or 8pin CPU power connnectors are only useful for overclockers. You can safely use a single 4 pin to deliver over 190W of CPU power.
On a seperate note, it seems you upgraded from an AM4 system. Why not have gone for a 5(7/8)00x3d or waited for the new AM5 motherboards & CPUs coming late this month?

@@ruinedlasagna There was a really great deal ($485) for the motherboard, RAM, and CPU bundle at Micro Center that I just couldn’t pass up. I was hoping to get a 7800X3D for a little while now so when I discovered that bundle I went through with it.
As far as waiting for the even newer stuff, I wasn’t aware new stuff was coming. I saw AMD released their “AI-powered” processors but that didn’t interest me so it was time for the 7800X3D.
Lastly, thanks for the info on the power connections! I haven’t looked up a wiring diagram for computers before but it’s probably something I’d find interesting.

What temps did you get in Cinebench?

@@puzoni That’s a good question and not one I tested. I’ll get you an answer later this week. Do you want the CPU or the GPU tests ran?
