I don't think the album version did it justice, still amazing but it was best live, this is decent but best version I've heard is Hammerstein ballroom with flea, Perry's vocals most powerful I've ever heard him sing live
@@TheDreamer1980I’ve been down the rabbit hole today and there are some sick live clips with good audio of original lineup in Sydney. 1990 I think but should come up in a JA live Sydney search
@bononista3999 no one is saying that he didn’t. It’s like klinghoffer for Red hot…. Great guitarist but if you’re saying Frusciante ain’t the real deal, you’re kidding yourself
@@5tar5zI bet a good majority wouldn't know the difference if they were played audio versions of versions of songs with Eric and Chris cheyney.... Eric clearly works best but Chris done a great job and is an incredible bassist, people act like Eric Avery was janes addiction just cause a lot of the songs were built around the bass , 4 equal members.... Those bass lines were nothing without Dave's guitar and perrys vocals and words and of course perkings drums
@@TheDreamer1980 you nailed it man. I agree 💯. And the two albums they did without Avery, have a lot of very good songs. I’m happy Avery is back in the lineup too, but these Avery cheerleaders are exhausting tbh.

I've been listening to a lot of shows, from 90/91 which for me was them at their peak but they were sloppy at times which isn't surprising when 3 of them were strung out, musically they sound better now bar perrys weak vocals..
The reason why everyone is commenting about Eric A is because this outfit was a unique blend of four incredibly creative talents, and removing any one of them and replacing them with someone else is bound to make a difference. Really glad he is back in and hope they write some new material together. This rendition of 'Then She Did' sounds amazing.
Avery is a great bassist, and I’m glad he’s back in the band. However, he didn’t want to participate in several tours since 1997. Thankfully, Martyn LeNoble, Chris Chaney, Flea and Duff, stepped in so we were able to enjoy this band. Especially Chris Chaney. Seen them several times without Avery and they were excellent.
@@5tar5z I know the story. I've been a fan of the band since the early 90's. I'm not one to yuck anyone else's yum, so if you thought those other bassists were suitable/enjoyable than good on you. I don't think this band is the same without Eric Avery
@@miterbox7031 it was. I had a feeling things probably wouldn’t last too long after Dave Navarro rejoined the band but I didn’t expect Perry to get violent at his age. Wonder if Love and Rockets found another band to tour with?
@@Abarataba I picked up an odd vibe. Usually Perry and Dave will walk up to each other and do some stage moves but they seemed distant already. I knew it wouldn’t last, and I’m so so glad I got to see them one last time.
" Its great erics back" Yeah and what about navarro ? Erics great but the bass can only do so much on its own , the real melancholy and emotion is coming from daves guitar and perrys voice .. Every member is vital
One of their best songs... Almost perfect, here... if Perry handles his issues, he'll be able to hit those high notes of this song again... at least I hope lol
Bugger, I had to go to Gary Numan in Bristol on this day. Oh well - to be fair it was a very good performance but Jane’s are “my” band- still kept my other half happy I guess…
I saw Jane's on most of their UK gigs 88-90. I became friends with Dave but I never met Perry. They are the greatest live band I have ever seen. Stop bitching about irrelevant shit and rejoice at the glory of a marvellous rock and roll band who can still cut it.
Watching this makes me pine for what could have been. Thank you Eric Avery for trying to make it work.
I will say it forever, Eric Avery makes all the difference in the way this band sounds. He and Perry wrote so many of the early songs together.
Yep, he's essential to that band
Exactly.
Are you the Same guy that posts this in a bunch of vids out?
Dude it’s the whole band not Eric Avery LMFO!!!! Too funny
I couldn’t have said that any better brother…. Avery has always been the piece that makes Jane’s have that IT!
@@19712218 it’s not easy for some to understand. But I’m glad you love janes!
This is their greatest song. It hypnotizes me.
The Milan 1990 version is like a heroin + acid trip

So pick any of their live performances of this at the time. Blows the album version out of the water.
Then She Did is and will always be an utterly sublime piece of music.
This is the best band I have ever seen live. Barrowlands Glasgow.🏴❤️✌️
This track was always meant to be played live - shame we will never hear it again .... RIP J.A.
One of the great JA songs...love it...hopefully the band will record new music....
Thank you, Eric Avery.
That took me back. Such a better vibe with Eric!!❤
This really is fantastic. Great to see the OG line up back, on form, and what a great song.
The Drums in this song always loved this song the feel is intense ❤
I was there! They were on fire! ❤🔥🔥
@LizFarrow They really were.
No bells and whistles, dancers etc, just four genuises back together.
They're broke and can't afford payroll
Amsterdam in July! I haven't looked forward to a concert so much in years!!!
Jane's Addiction is Best with Eric Avery! What a difference a Bass makes

Love it. Can't wait for the Dublin gig.
Wow! Pretty impressive
The lead singers so cool
That was F’ing awesome!!!
I saw them do this in Jax, and it was possibly the best show that I have seen
just amazInG
Can't wait for the Manchester gig on Sunday! They seem on great form
Im just so happy to see the boys back and will be seeing you shortly with my 22 year old who loved you

My favorite
Eric ❤👌
I had lice versions of this on repeat all summer last year

Been a Janes fan since 1985 , Please Perry QUIT the little mixer thing you play with for sound ! Please! See ya soon in San Diego.
@fubmw Perry has always used effects on his voice - this isn't anything new, and he certainly needs it given the condition of his aging voice.
