honestly never thought i'd hear cocteau twins in a sports vid. love this.
All of the Pretty Good episodes are fun to watch, but this is the one I love sharing with friends to introduce them to the series.
I love how happy his team is for him when he gets on base. You can tell that Dae-Sung had been talking about and practicing batting ever since his last appearance, just waiting for the chance to get on base next chance he had, and his whole team was there with him, showing all the excitement that Dae-Sung was trying to hide so he looked like a professional.
That intro for randy really had me thinking Koo would just dissolve into baseball-scented dust before the ball was even over the plate.
In the words of the famous -sports- commentator Griffin McElroy: "Holy shit, big unit!"
koo dae-sung's career at plate apperances:
1: intentional strike out
2: double
Whenever I need a smile I always come back to this video. It's so pure and good. Truly immaculate vibes.
Some days when I need a smile or just a little pick me up, I find 10 minutes to watch this video. Thanks Jon for making this one.
David Peveto my favorite video on RUclips. And it’s here whenever I need it.
the fact that he shows a video making fun of bartolo colon swinging and posts the video exactly one year before Bartolo hit his homerun is scary
I can’t help but watch this every time it comes back onto my feed.
The sound that David Wright made after that double is almost as glorious as the double itself.
I've come back to rewatch this video over the years more than any other RUclips video. Usually I just watch whatever is new in my sub feed and then forget about it. Pretty good holds a special place in my heart though. It's like an old favorite TV show, no matter how many times I see it, it's still great.
This is like the antithesis of the modern mets. The world, stars, and sky aligned for a man who had no business doing anything positive actually do something positive
AWESOME STORY & IM SO GLAD JON GOT TO TELL IT IN HIS OWN WORDS!!!
This is still my favorite Jon Bois video. I watch it whenever I need to cheer up.
Still true.
As amazing of a creator as John bois is this may be my favorite video from him. The editing the buildup all the details turn a “pretty good” story to something you can’t take your eyes off of. Just hope we see his content more often on sb nation
"the best card is you"
Words to live by.
This is one of the best videos on the internet
Jon I just want you to know that you tell stories so well. I have heard you tell this story a dozen times and each time it always brings a smile to my face.
Thanks for sharing your talent and this story with us.
That’s the thing about baseball. I’m not much of a fan and I think most of the time the game is pretty boring. But every once in a while something amazing happens and you can’t help but get sucked into that energy of collective awe and sheer fucking joy.
i re-watch this maybe every two-to-three months
it hits every time
For a double?
This is awesome and i love the whole series. One thing that pointed out to me is the specialzation bit and that how it is so true in almost every sport but soccer, where players are progressively more demanded to be more versatile at every position: footplay on goalkeepers, more and more precise pass game, position switches/reliefs, etc
It was Wright's high five that injured Koo.
watching this after the Mariners documentary makes the Randy Johnson reveal twice as intense
the perfect song choice for the moment he hit it. 10/10
David Wright screeching in delight is everything wonderful in the world.
This is the best video on youtube, period.
+D Glenn It would be if the game footage was of watchable quality
+shadygangster888 you know.. There was no HD back then..
Have you checked in on Jon since this
As with every most recent Jon Bois video I've watched, this is the greatest thing I've ever seen.
I love the reaction from his teammates in the dugout. All losing their shit
i played a lot of ball as a kid and my dad always refered to some kids as a koo dae-sung and ive never seen this play. Thank you for showing me
David Wright just destroyed his vocal cords
I think that might be my favorite part of the video
Whenever I'm having a bad day I come back and watch this video. Fugging magical
same :)
Haven't seen this one...can't wait for the ad to finish!
Two things:
1 When Randy Johnson's name came up, I reflexively said, "Oh god! Did he die!?"
2 You bastard, you made me smile at a Mariah Carey song.
The intro music and face of Randy Johnson is the funnist thing Ive ever seen!
i think my favorite part of this whole thing is how hyped his teammates were for him
