Why is it that being stung many times increases your risk for developing an allergy, but repeated injections desensitizes you to the allergen? How does this work?

Honestly idk but I know for me I keep getting stung and I’m actually getting kinda better I never used my epipen and it depends where I get stung, a month ago I stepped on one but it was ok I went in the water cuz I was at the beach and stepped on a dead one and I got hives annd all but I later there and I was ok I really think the salt water helped… then this morning I got stung on my head that’s why I’m watching these videos and honestly I got bad hives and am so itchy and my face kinda swelled up then I actually felt the worste today butttt again I have my epipen and my dads here to make sure I’m ok. And now I’m ok like 30 mi it’s later with 2 Benadryl taken. So I do feel like I never need an epipen cuz I get stung so much compared to when I was a kid I felt I kept getting more and more allergic like bad reactions, now the reactions are less and less also I prayed and no joke Jesus Helped like I think just being calm and knowing everything within be ok helps a ton. And sorry last thing is when I travel to other countries I might not have an epipen so it’s good to know I’ll survive. Sorry I’m kinda out of it lol

The bigger problem is pharmaceutical companies cannot profit from local bee honey. So naturally, bee honey cannot be an effective treatment for seasonal allergies. . . .But I can give you hundreds of shots that will cost you a lot of money. . . . .

While I agree that greed plays a major factor in our healthcare and what’s offered, conspiracy theories are easy to come up with on the fly, right?
If you can point to some scientific research that supports your claim and contradicts this doctor’s claim, share it.

@@totallyfrozen what’s funny is that I don’t think this doctor was correct on why the honey doesn’t help. It doesn’t help because pollen is a negligible ingredient in Honey. It has nothing to do with what plants the bees are on. They forage pollen from sagebrush. However the pollen isn’t used in the honey, they make the honey from the nectar of plants, like a humming bird. The pollen is a protein and is used to make jelly for the larva to eat, as well as the queen and the drone bees as they don’t feed themselves. They store the pollen in the hive as a separate store from the honey.

    Informative interview, thanks.
As a nurse, I understand the concept behind allergies and immunology. However, I too heard the stories of using honey as an allergy therapy. I tried it myself and, indeed, it does not work. Too bad. I really wanted it to. I’d rather eat a sweet, tasty syrup than get stuck with a needle.

In other words, when U.S. government, department of Health, all these businesses selling their own allergy medicines heard this they did not like it even though it works which means they will lose money and that can’t happen lol 😂
