There is a musical version with Frasier Crane as Scrooge and George Costanza as Marley, that’s very good too. Just watched it for the first and suggest that one too, it’s on RUclips fir free.
George C. Scott is unquestionbly the greatest actor ever to tackle the role, at least on film, and he is brilliant here. The rest of the cast is also excellent.
My favorite story and my favorite rendition. Merry Christmas everyone!! It was both me and my dad's favorite. Precious memories watching it with him.🎄🎁⛄🦌🧑🎄🌟
This is my favorite version of A Christmas Carol. Jacob Marley is such an intense character. Great actor, too. And George C. Is at his best with Scrooge. Thank you, Creature Features for bringing Christmas and Santa to us. Last two nights have been the coldest nights for my area. Bundled up around a space heater with a good cup of tea, enjoying this old classic movie on Christmas eve. Can't imagine watching anything else! Thank you for the Christmas surprise.
My boyfriend watches this movie a lot. Through the year not just at Christmas. He loves this version. Thank you for showing this movie. Merry Christmas.. v
Obviously there are a number of great versions of this, and this is one of my favorites. It can be rather dark, but hey, this is Creature Features! This will be a great addition to the holidays, so thanks to the whole, wonderful CF crew. God bless us, every one....🎄
The arrival of Marley and his dropping jaw scarred the willies out of me when I was young. This remains my favourite version too. (Excluding the Muppet version of course)
In my humble opinion, this is the best version of the Dickens classic. This film adaptation is faithful to the book. The performances are stellar. The filming location in Shrewsbury, England, is spot-on. My grandparents lived near there. Director Richard Donner did a magnificent job! "God bless us -- every one!" I concur! Merry Christmas 2022 to the CF crew and audience!
Yes there are quite a list of versions of this movie, one in 1926, a silent edition, another one in 1935 with semore hicks, another in 1939 with Reginald Owen, another one in 1959 with Alistair sim, and this one in 1984 with George C Scott, there are more but we're done in animation format, and a musical with Albert Finney. I like this version the best
After an accident recently I've been sick from work. I discovered creature features by chance & have been engrossed watching day & night. Love you guys, Vincent, such a great host & such a great writer! How he creates these situations is beyond me! Miss Tangella, Livingstone & Handrew are brilliant! I'm writing from the UK, Merseyside to be presice. Hey keep up the great work guys I ❤ it!!!!!
My favorite Christmas movie, albeit the one with Albert C. Finney, though the great George C. Scott did an incredible job as only he could! Thanks so very much Creature Features and Merry Christmas to you all from, Utah.🎄
I like this version the best. I don't think that Charles Dickens knew what profound impact this made and the fame of his story and this labels Christmas for everyone in all countries, defines the season
There is a musical version with Fraser crane’a Kelsey Grammer and George Costanza’s Jason Alexander. It’s from early 2000s and very good too. It’s on RUclips for free if you’d want to check it out.
Thank you for playing this version of a Christmas Carol, it brought back some wonderful memories of my childhood . Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Creature Features Crew!
29:57-38:21 the best portion 🎄 George C. Scott’s version of A Christmas Carol is one of four versions that (I believe) is the definitive version of Charles Dickens’ acclaimed novella (the others are Scrooge [with Albert Finney], Mr. Magoo’s Christmas Carol [with Jim Backus reprising his famous voice role], and A Muppets Christmas Carol [with Michael Caine])
You'll be up when Santa comes down the chimney! Maybe you can ask him if Gertrude can join Dasher and the reindeer crew delivering presents the rest of the night!
@@seacampeon8729 Oh yes sea campeon, Gertrude and I will be up watching this movie with everybody here because it airs at 12 midnight EST and Gertrude is ready to put on her little parka that I knitted and help out Santa to finish his work :) This is one Christmas that we'll never forget :)
Christmas tradition, watching ALL the versions of this, it's a task because there are many. I think this is the best one for it's consistency. It has a great cast and the way they do the ghosts and Marley are first rate. Thank you for showing this classic and say hi to Santa for me! Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
I've seen just about all of the filmed versions of this wonderful story over the years... and this version is my absolute favorite! Still a bit early for Christmas wishes right now in 2023 (late August), but Happy Holidays to all, just the same! Thank you, as always, to the Creature Features gang, for great entertainment!
This Christmas Carol is by far my favorite thank you for showing it remember watching this one when I was young kid. Now watching it with the grandkids. Thanks again and Merry Christmas
The Ebeneezer Scrooge gravestone seen in this movie was put in the St. Chad's church graveyard in Shrewsbury, UK -- where most of the filming of this movie was done. They left it in the churchyard and you can visit Ebeneezer Scrooge's grave to this day!
How fun! This movie from any year is one of my Fav Holiday movies. It’s chilling yet the message is timeless! Hope to make it Christmas 🎄 eve. Please tell Santa all I want for Christmas besides peace on earth and good will to all is more money to CF for even better movies on Saturdays!
You guys are GREAT. Been watching Creature Features for half a Century. Sounds funny but TRUE. You guys have awesome costumes, makeup, backdrop, and a goofy presentation. Makes for a family friendly atmosphere that is a TRADITION of Creature Features.
Santa Claus is my favorite guest to appear on Creature Features to date. He is such a lovely, positive, and articulate man. It was a pleasure listening to his inspirational responses. I truly enjoyed the movie. It is one of my favorites Christmas 💖 🎄 movies. Merry Christmas Vincent, Mr Livingston, and Tangella. Merry Christmas Creature Features Production Crew, Moderators, and all of the unique and devoted Creature Features fans. Also, Merry Christmas Fang. You are such a beautiful and well behaved 🐕 ❤️ Happy New Year wishes 🎆 to all of you. 💞
My mom loved the one with Alastair Sim so much, i miss her, and I'm watching this in memory of her.❤💯 my favorite one is the one with George C. Scott, and me and my mom like the one with Jim Carry.
I must say that IMHO this was the best (to date) program y'all have done! I loved it and the interview with 'The Real' Santa was fantastic! PS: Mr. Livingston - I subscribed!!!
Thank you Vincent, Livingston and Tangella! You entertain me every Saturday! Love your show and love the bits between Tangella and Andrew and Livingston! You are all a wonderful ensemble. Merry Christmas and look forward to many more shows and guests. Love ya!
My favorite version of a "A Christmas Carol", plus Vincent, Tangella, Livingston, carol singing, and Santa Claus! My cup runneth over!
From a silent movie to Alistair Sims to Mr. Magoo to Bill Murray's Scrooged, this is one movie that never fails to make an impact when it's aired.
There is a musical version with Frasier Crane as Scrooge and George Costanza as Marley, that’s very good too. Just watched it for the first and suggest that one too, it’s on RUclips fir free.
scrooged was my favorite
I love all renditions but my favourite is with Alistair Sims.
With George C. Scott? One of the good adaptations. Underappreciated I think. Watched it when it premiered on TV, as a kid.
Yes he did a great piece of action, I enjoy very much, I was saddened to hear the death of David Warner he passed not long ago
@@harolynallison485 I think about, two months, back. Good actor, and was in alot of films 🎞️, that I grew up with (but just didn't, know it).

It was great to see Santa on Creature Features. As expected he said all the right things, even when he said he accepts Tangella just the way she is.
My boyfriend watches this movie a lot. Through the year not just at Christmas. He loves this version. Thank you for showing this movie. Merry Christmas.. v
The best version of the ghost of Jacob Marley. He was always a good man of business.
Merry Christmas, Vincent, Tangella, Mr. Livingston, and the whole CF crew!

I think this was origanally titled "A Rather Dark Version Of A Christmas Carol"
Yeah, it falls under the category of "Scrooge Noir"...
The arrival of Marley and his dropping jaw scarred the willies out of me when I was young. This remains my favourite version too. (Excluding the Muppet version of course)
A great version of a Christmas classic! Really looking forward.
