  • Page AZ to Bullfrog Basin, over Lake Powell, at 5x speed. CTsw light sport airplane from Flight Design. Flight was done during the 2014 CT Fly-in at Page AZ. Note the two aircraft ahead in the early part of the video. The RUclips video stabilization does a good job, but makes the stable things (airplane nose and wing) appear to jump around.

I took three people to Bullfrog in a Cessna 182 (N735AC) in May of 1990. I spent three days there, with my wife, and another couple. We spend three days camping there, with a rented 17' skiff,(with 25hp outboard). This video shows that there is a lot less water, at the time of this filming, than there was in May of 1990.

Even though I'm in terrified of flying, it was really cool to see beautiful lake Powell from the air.

Loved our 2015 coast to coast trip in our CTSW, especially low and slow through Monument Valley. N293CT.

Took this flight many of times landing in halls crossing and Hite. Youed shit your pants landing and takeing off in Hight since the landing zone was next to a cliff and the other side was off a cliff. Many of planes were lost in the lake and halls crossing landing zone was hard to find if you didnt know it

How far can you fly in that one way?

    • @azctflyer

Mocha Gypsy about 5.5 hours, at about 133mph. There is 34 gallons of fuel and it burns 4.5-5 gph. YMMV

Was it worth destroying the pristine Glen Canyon to build a lake whose annual evaporation rate would supply the people of Los Angeles with water for a year ?

You would have never heard of Glen Canyon if it were not for Lake Powell.

The people of Los Angeles can go drink some woke liberal soup they do not need the water from this reservoir.
