I'll never forget the immortal words "I floop the pig."
always floop, never activate
Equivalent to "I summon a pot of greed!".
It is good enough that it has made its way into several recent Nux videos. That is how you know this works, Nux keeps flooping that pig.
May the Pig never be unFlooped
to this day, still have the Miguel O’Hara deadpan meme saved with the “Jake the dog watching in unfathomable horror as his comrade and brother in arms utters the soul crushing words ‘I floop the pig’ yet again”
Fun fact: someone is trying to make a proper, show-accurate real life version of Card Wars. It is absolute hell.
Where
Isn’t there an official card wars game for phones? Don’t think it is multiplayer but it does exist
@@blyatman9726youtube
@@cernunnos1240 It isn't show accurate.
The youtuber is called BigHoles and he is trying to fit everything mentioned in the show into the game
CARD WARS LITERALLY CHANGED THE PATH OF MY LIFE FOREVER. It made me into cards, creating cards, designing monsters, creatures, characters, complex interactions, statistics, tcgs, ttrpgs, card video games, and thus I wanted to become a programmer and artist
Dude that's actually so awesome
Did you manage to change back into a human from your card form?
That was a dumb joke sorry
Brother, I finally found you!
A kindred soul!
MTG, Hearthstone, Slay the Spire, Evolution board game, Inscryption and many more.
But it all started with this episode.
For some reasons I started to feel motivated about making my own card game after this episode, especially after Nux’s reaction, but I can’t even do normally something I was doing since the childhood (drawing), so I don’t know
@@RikaSchlarpWas that a Ralph Kard reference? Based, my friend.
These reactions have been therapeutic for me, maybe because this was a big childhood show for me, and watching a person experience it for the first time is nostalgic.
Especially someone who actually understands the details and nuances of the show. He's not one of those reactors who just goes "damn that's crazy" and goes to the next one. He truly gets it and he's helped me understand some episodes in a way that I never did upon my initial watch.
@@YormanGinaHe understands the nuances more than I did when I watched the show 😂
edit: oh you said that too... didn't finish reading your comment when replying
Definitely!!
I knew IRL gamers exactly like both Finn and Jake.
One was the sore winner who would invite new players to play and then crush them.
The other was the noob D&D player who just SAW how classes and feats and spells would interact as soon as he read them and would create these instantly broken builds.
The first person, I just stopped playing with (and he was the reason why I didn't play CCGs for YEARS).
The second person was one of my most challenging players as a GM. I would have him play classes and roles outside his comfort zone, and he would always turn them into insane power gamer strats, even with extremely limited options. It was nuts - and kinda impressive.
I bet that guy could turn rangers into op characters then
Finn didn’t know how the game worked, but he knows how battle works. So he had real life experience on his side
Interesting rationalization.
also finn's tactic: eat corn
This actually shows that aside from using his powers, Jake doesn't have the same battle knowledge Finn has. For most of the show, Jake has been reliant on his powers while Finn has to be creative just to be able to match some of his enemies.
"He's literally History's greatest bro"
Oh Nux you have no idea how right you are.
When a professional vs. a man who is just lucky.
To be fair, Finn was skilled too, dude instantly picked up on the logic and strategy of the game.
I’ve been the lucky guy, you immediately become the most hated player.
No Jake just doesn't read his opponents cards like Yu-Gi-Oh players 😂
Jake just doesn't read the cards. He's so quick to anger and impatient with these that he gets way too tunnel visioned
One trick vs genius
Jake bought the expensive tier 1 deck, but failed to read what any of his cards do. Finn just read the cards.
Lol, Yeah.
Idk, I feel like Jake is one of those snobs that doesn’t want to play a meta deck because it’s a meta deck. He only plays his corn deck and mocks all that is not his corn deck.
@thesupersaiyanilluminati3985 maybe the corn deck is the meta
@@elijahlong1243 I mean, if your whole deck can be dismantled by one card I don’t know if you can call it meta.
@@thesupersaiyanilluminati3985dude its the meta against everything except that one card!
This is literally the time my friend tried to explain Magic to me. It took forever to go through every little nuance and than the endless gochas of all the card abilities. And funny enough I actually beat him on pure luck just like Finn, I just always got the perfect card combos. Guess the stars aligned lol
Edit: Also yeah, Card Wars just basically seems like the play structure of Magic with the card combo style of Yu-Gi-Oh.
That sounds awful but fun
Beginners luck is a real thing imho.
Seen too many instances to think otherwise
Not even card combo style of yugioh, that happens in Magic too. People underestimate how combo heavy certain Magic formats are, there's formats where the game is expected to end in the first 1-4 turns. Yes, there's decks that combo turn 1 if the enemy doesn't have a counterspell.
*CARD WARS LORE!!!!*
CARD WARS IS THE BEST NON-LICH EPISODE AND I WILL NOT HEAR OTHERWISE
Yeah you right
Eh id say number 2, ICE KING EPISODES WILL ALWAYS BE PEAK
'I Remember You' is way better.
For a second I disagreed and part of me still does, but ultimately I share the same opinion, there something so cool about this non existent card game, it’s like the game we all imagined as kids which is just every game combined, summoning creatures, making buildings, battle, hologram projections, special effect like the tower stealing the walker, pig eating the corn it’s like a open world sandbox cardgame, it’s so fun to imagine playing it I wish it was real.
@Worm-revolver I remember you is ACTUALLY the best episode of AT
YES!!! CARD WARS!
"I floop the pig. 🐖"
1:49: Right!? It's like "WHAT!? WHAT IS IT!? WHAT DO YOU WANT!?" XD
I saw you like this comment on your recent Twitch stream. XD
There was actually a Kickstarter campaign that is making actual physical card wars cards to play with. The highest tier even includes the Cool Guy and Dweeb mugs. The project was funded over $1,400,000, funding over 1773% of it. backer prizes are being delivered in September. The backers even get rarer cards and an art collector box.
There was an app version on kindle for a while
Wait did they delay it, cuz I thought they said they would send it to us in August
YES YES YES FINALLY NOW I NEED NEXT EPISODE RIGHT NOW.
Is it time?! IS IT TIME TO REMEMBER?!
@nathancurnutt8074 Not yet, we got 11 more episodes. But OH BOY, OH BOY, OH THE BOYEST OF BOYS, am I just Excited to see him react to it. Rewatching it with Nux is awesome after all this time, and when he hits that episode, it will be more glorious than fighting for the God Emperor
The fact you still put this up after watching it ruined an entire stream vod for a hot second, Boss is truly a real one
It was ruined ruined? Is that why I can't find it?
@@count-countess8464 Apparently Kick staff came into his channel, told him he couldn't watch Adventure Time because of copyright and immediately deleted the VOD the second he ended the stream. Apparently we only have this video because there was a viewer who was able to recover it for him (from what I heard).
@@ImmortalLorient that's actually really wholesome of that veiwer to give nux that
@@ImmortalLorient that viewer's a hero :D
Wait, so does that mean he can't keep watching it on Kik? That'd be a bummer :/
Fun fact, BMO's comment on how he could have killed finn if it was a real atack is true
Yeah this is one of the best Adventure Time episodes. I love episodes like this where we just see Finn and Jakes being best bros. This episode stands up there with Remember you, Burning Low and Hall of Egress.
If this is the episode designed to make a card gamer freak out, then Hall of Egress is the one designed to drive a tabletop RPG player into total apoplexy.
*[11]*
The best part was that this is like the perfect TCG fan episode. Like, I played Yu-Gi-Oh up until I entered High school (only just bought the new Lovecraft cards a few days ago, thanks Nux), and everything just spoke "The writers know their shit."
Like, the monster cards and field cards, wanting to duel or get your buddies into it, the emotional intensity in it, the two hour rules explanation, the Trap Card being a Monster card (those were the most fun in Yu-Gi-Oh outside Synchro's); it was great, man.
Ngl, I still wanna try Card Wars, even if I probably won't be able to Floop the Pig.
Plus, ya gotta love Finn and Jake's smug faces. It's so hilariously over the top with how conceited they both get at times. It's great
A youtuber by the name of BigHoles is actually trying to make the most show accurate version of Card Wars, its really cool.
@Nuxanor I'm really glad you were able to recover the episode. You were observably down over it (understandably so), so I'm happy it all worked out. I feel like a lot of streamers would give it the big "oh well" and move on, but you really fought to revive the content your viewers wanted, and you succeeded. That's something to hang your hat on, and I hope you feel good for it. Cheers.
FINALLY! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU TO REACT TO THIS EPISODE FOR MONTHS! GLAD YOU ENJOYED IT!
A few things to mention:
1) They came out with an official Card Wars Card Game, and it's absolutely glorious. Not really like the show, but still a fun game that has a ton of aspects of Adventure Time in it.
2) A youtuber is making a show-accurate Card Wars, and it is now open for Beta if you want to try it! It's really cool, and he has a few different videos talking about his work trying to create and balance mechanics for it. Highly recommend you check it out!
"Super Amadeus" probably didn't meant pro, it meant prodigy: somebody who was just born with so much talent for something they could at least give onlookers the impression of mastering it young without any effort or practice. While I'm not sure Mozart deserved that reputation, he definitely had it.
Finally more adventure Time and hopefully we get more spooky month!
When i was a kid, i can't even explain how much i wanted to play Card Wars, and i don't even like card games.
Despite all the absolute insane lore and story and plotline in this show, the opening scene in this epsidoe of Finn eating two full, massive sandwhichs each in two bites, only intermissioned by the drinking of an entire glass of orange juice, proceeding an immediate nap, is my absolute favorite scene in this entire show. An absolute mood if Ive ever scene one
Can’t believe we almost lost the react till a stray offline egg boi saved the vod
Finn literally was like "magic degree equals pig and won"
10/11 episodes before I remember you.
I absolutely cannot wait
Yeah i've been waiting for that one pretty much since he made it clear who his fav Characters are
Up Next:

It’s Flooping Time!

I love the part where he flooped all over the place.

Hermitcraft card game I think
This was actually the very first Adventure Time episode I watched, many years ago
Fun facts about this episode:
This episode was inspired a mobile game, Adventure Time - Card Wars.
A preview of this episode was shown on July 14 during Cartoon Network's Big Fan Weekend 2012.
Only fourteen cards in the game were used: "Silo of Truth," "Cerebral Blood Storm," "Husker Knights," "Ancient Scholar," "The Pig," "The Cave of Solitude," "Legion of Earlings," "Spirit Tower," "Field of Nightmares," "Volcano," "Reclaim Landscape," "The Immortal Maize Walker," "Summon Archer Dan," and "the Field Reaper". "Useless Swamp," "Cool Dog," "Teleport," and "Wandering Bald Man" were all shown and named, but never used directly.
This is the first time Jake has referred to Finn as "Finn Human."
The same music played in the title card is also played when the pig is activated and eats Jake's corn fields.
The pig Finn uses during the game slightly resembles Mr. Pig.
Episode connections:
The flame explosion in the long preview before the "Card Wars" title was also used in the "Princess Cookie" preview.
The Cup of Many Ales from "Video Makers" is seen again in this episode.
The music that plays during the scene in which Jake explains the rules of the game to Finn was originally used in "Too Young," during the "Prank Machine" scene.
This episode has a sequel in a later season.
Cultural references:
Along with other ingredients, Jake adds kimchi, a popular Korean side dish, to the Dweeb soda cup
The card game contains various game attributes from popular trading card games such as Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokémon, Cardfight: Vanguard!!, Future Card Buddyfight and Magic: the Gathering. Jake also mentions the "battle phase," a phase in both Yu-Gi-Oh! and Magic: the Gathering.
The term "Floop" appears to be synonymous with Magic: the Gathering's "Tap" mechanic.
Additionally, Jake uses the term "Ganked" when Finn takes control of his Immortal Maize Walker, a term used commonly by Magic: the Gathering players for the same event.
"Corn Fields" in Card Wars could be allegorical to Plains (White Magic) in Magic: the Gathering. The criticism Finn throws on Jake for using only Corn Fields bears great similarity to deck construction discussion and "smack-talk" used by actual Magic players.
The term "Casting" that was mentioned is a very common way of placing cards into certain areas, such as Future Card Buddyfight, which is another popular trading card game.
Jake's kingdom includes structures similar to Stonehenge, the Greek Parthenon, and the Roman Colosseum.
Finn called himself "A Card Wars super Amadeus!" in reference to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's genius, especially from a very young age.
BMO saying "B-Mo chop!" is a reference to the manga series Soul Eater, in which several characters (namely Maka and Lord Death) do the same thing.
Storyline analysis:
This episode reveals that Jake has a very obsessive-competitive personality that he cannot control even when it comes to Finn, Lady Rainicorn, or BMO.
It is shown that Finn and BMO are better at Card Wars than Jake; BMO says that it beat Jake, and Finn let Jake win so he would not ignore him for a month or longer out of anger like he did with BMO. It is also possible that Lady Rainicorn herself may be better at Card Wars than Jake too; she may let him win in order to avoid any trouble or she does not like being beat by him, much less the way he behaves when he plays the game.
Coincidentally, both Finn and Jake turn the tide of their game with seemingly useless cards. Finn uses "The Pig" to devastate the cornfields powering Jake's army; in turn, Jake's "Useless Swamp" allows him to gain control of "The Pig" after it battles his "Wandering Bald Man" in the swamp.
It seems strange that, having always lived together, and Jake loving the game so much, Finn still hadn't heard about the game before, or known about Jake's behavior when he loses a game.
Production notes:
This episode was originally titled "Card Quest."
This episode was originally scheduled to air on July 2, 2012. However, due to a last minute programming change, it was moved to Monday, July 16, putting it after the two-part episode: "Princess Monster Wife," and "Goliad."
Errors:
After Jake says "And then you'll hate me," the words he wrote on both cups disappear.
The cups move in between some scenes.
When Finn rejoins the game after talking to BMO, the writing on the cup says "DWEEP" instead of "DWEEB."
The word "DWEEB" is seen written on two different parts of a cup even though Jake only wrote it once.
There are continuity errors regarding Finn's missing teeth.
Some items on the table (notably potato chip bags) are gone when Jake pulls Finn back to the game. However, when Finn returns there is a new bowl of chips; Jake may have put the chips in that bowl.
When Finn's "Spirit Tower" captures Jake's "Immortal Maize Walker," Jake calls the latter a "Spirit Walker."
At about 10:57 into the episode, Finn's schoolhouse and tower are still on the board after they have been destroyed, but when it zooms out, they're both gone again.
Apparently, a card is "flooped" by turning it to the left, and "activated" by turning it to the right. With this in mind, it is noticeable that Jake activated his land cards at the beginning of the game; also, Finn activated the Spirit Tower and Cave of Solitude, instead of flooping.
When Finn sends his pig to attack Jake's "Wandering Bald Man," the creatures are at the edge of the "Useless Swamp." After the pig defeats the bald man and gets stuck in the swamp, it appears in the middle of the swamp, then back to the edge again in the next scene.
When Finn's pig eats Jake's corn which defeats his Husker Knights and makes the Cerebral Bloodstorm rain over them, the bloodstorm appears to be two brains rather than one.
When Finn and Jake are shown through the window, the Card Wars box appears grey, but when they are shown from inside the treehouse, the box turns brown (although this may be because of the tint of the window).
When Jake uses the Field Reaper to take control of Finn's creatures, there is no spellbook in Ancient Scholar's hands.
Jake plays a "Volcano" about halfway through the game. However, the volcano can be seen on his land before the game even starts.
There is a continuity error in which the words on the cup keep disappearing and reappearing while Finn and Jake were talking about whether Finn was asleep while explaining the rules or not.
Thanks again misty man
I use 4 types of lands and my favorite is the swamp
Now what kind of demon possessed you do to this and can i borrow them for exams

I don't care what the lore fans of AT will say
THIS is what Adventure Time TRULY is.
The world and lore might not be expanded, but you couldn't care less since the character interactions and moments are that enjoyable
Adventure Time knows what truly matters most in life. Wholesome moments and large sandwiches.
And prasing your bro's pickle
IMO both make the show. Without Simon, Shouko, Betty and the elementals the show wouldn't be as good as it is- but without Marceline and Hunson's dynamic, Bonnie and Finn's dynamic, Finn and Jake's brotherly dynamic and so on so forth the show would feel empty. TLDR; Lore makes a show have interest, Character moments make a show have charm.

This episode is a really fond memory for me, when I was 12 I played Yugioh with my friends, and they taught me to play based on rules that they had come up with based on watching the TV show (which is obviously way off from the actual game), and I had a really good deck for that environment, but then I met some 16 year old guys who played the game properly and got absolutely schooled. Simple stuff like “you can’t summon in face up defence”, or like with Jake’s teleport “that only targets your monsters”. I was really bummed about it for about a week, and then by chance I saw this episode, and it made me laugh so much seeing the same sort of situation from the outside. I was able to take it in my stride. And safe to say when I went back to school I had bought an actual Yugioh rule book and learned to play properly
It's about time this one came out😢 I was so sad the vod got deleted
This is my all time favorite episode of this show, There use to be an app for Card Wars and it was the shit! I no lifed it and even had a deck that could beat most people in one to two turns
Couldn't find where it's in the vod so HERE I AM BOO YAHHH
Man, Nux needs to look into that guy that's make Card Wars a real game. It's amazing!
We love Nux for watching adventure time despite the copyright. 💗
I've always loved this episode, one of the Adventure Time episodes that's always lived in my head rent free
I love how we both had the exact same thought at the same time.
"What is a fantasy game in a fantasy world?"
Card wars was my favorite adventure time episode as a kid. In fact I still have all but one set of card wars. A double tournament pack that released alongside the second episode featuring the game. It was pretty fun!
Also there was an IOS game so that was probably the one most people remember.
Card wars got me into MTG
Years ago they actually made a mobile game recreation of Card Wars and I remember playing the hell out of it. Don’t know if the servers or game are still up, but if they are then I might go revisit it for nostalgia’s sake.
MAN, I am SO excited for the Pillow World episode next season.
not even yugioh understands yugioh
When my brother first taught me how to play magic the gathering, I beat him on my first try (he was not going easy on me) and then beat him the next 14 times after that. Needless to say, he was pissed that a noob beat him, a guy who's been playing the game for many years, 15 times in a row
I’ve been waiting on this one since forever !!
A thing with Adventure time you will probably see with your over analysis, and knowing this fact will help. The creator of Adventure, Pendleton Ward, left the series around season 4. I'm sure you'll see what that means later on. Adventure time is still good, like it didn't go bad at all. Its just the direction.... shifted ever so subtly. I wonder if you can point it out xD.
Yo Nux, that is kinda cool to hear you allude to you making your own card game, I'm making one of my own as well, it even takes inspiration from Magic, Yugioh, and Card Wars lol. I've based it around old god mythologies like Greek, Norse, Egyptian, etc. Every mythology has creatures, legends, and gods from their pantheons and have their own abilities exclusive to them, for example some Egyptian creatures would do burn damage over time if they are successful in their attack. So far it's coming along good and excited on how the public reacts to it when i release it and I'm looking forward to your card game as well, i hope both of are games do well and become successful :)
Would be great if Twitch streams get archived again, unless there is also copyright issues.
It's impossible for me to watch the streams live on Twitch, but it would be nice to be able to see them "unfiltered" or to even just see that there was a stream to catch up on.
There is an actual card wars card game! And they recently did a kickstarter to reprint all the old sets and some new ones too! There also used to be this amazing Card Wars app game that I'm so sad died. It had so many levels, all the characters were playable, and the were a bunch of different deck style and options.
Definitely a classic episode
