I know a truck driver who has been driving many years. They are struggling to get into a good company. What companies would you suggest for me to tell them about so they can stop getting with bad companies? Thank you for your help 🙂
The trucking companies have mastered how to rob us blind. I can no longer accept less than just to pretend I'm a business owner. If I can make just as much as a company driver. Why should we keep paying for these trucks and staying on the road. This was a perfect break down my brother. It has really helped me realize. I'm going home with my family to get me a local job. I can accept that. I'm done helping companies pay for trucks with no real difference between company pay versus us o/o
FYI most big carriers employ drivers to be relief and recovery. If you will be off over a week, you can hire a relief and recovery driver to drive your truck until you come back to work, and what they earn covers your truck note and that’s how you don’t come back in the hole
Now i have to consider Prime as potential company. Respect to you man for keeping it 100 its hard to find that out here with these companies and message boards.

$70k for a team is not great. The truck is running most of the time so the risk of a catastrophic accident is 2x as much as solo. A solo driver should be able to net $400/day or $120,000 for rolling 300 days in a year.
These are the videos people looking to go lease need to see, the reality can be different for everyone but taking into account several Down weeks. First 3 months were solid, keep it up bruh 👍🏼
Leasing is never worth man. If you want to responsibility of a truck with none of the reward then it is for you. Stack your cash and just go finance a truck, prime already charging your 3 times more than what the truck is worth and if you really wanna stay with them once your get your own truck you can lease onto there 0/0 side. When I first started my career at prime i wasted my first 4 years leasing at prime, never going home, barely making more than company drivers unless I trained and ended up paying 200k for a truck I will never own before I wised up, got myself a 50k truck payment only 900 a month instead of over 5k like prime and I get home all the time instead of once a season. Dont waste as many years there as I did man, please come off the prime coolaid.
I fell for the "own your own truck" kool-aid too...then the warranty ran out and the repair bills ate me up. Load revenue hit a slump and that was it. Won't own another truck again. I love driving and I love the freedom of doing lease over being a company guy with forced dispatch and not having the freedom to go and stop wherever I choose to and to go whichever way I choose to go. You might pay more but coming from dart and going to prime and seeing how my truck was in ans out of the shop in less than a day, they do offer up some superior service and amenities compared to where I came from, so much like a 7/11 you pay a higher price for convenience. I only signed up for an 8 month lease to check out the difference between a Cascadia and my old t680. The fuel mileage and their steep discount in fuel makes it worth it for me. Fuel is where your money is at and where it will always be. Just did my first load and the rate for load revenue was better than where I came from. My fleet manager is amazing and so far I have nothing bad to say over here. It will always be what you make it. I know some people are still sitting around in Springfield and haven't left saying they have no loads, but I just showed up in person to the line up and was offered a load within 5 minutes straight out the gate. If people are sitting at the yard enjoying the steaks, massages and the gym room it's by their own choice and I don't blame them...I know my money will be going to the massage therapist and the chiropractor over there 😆
What if I told you that you could be making that driving solo booking your own loads. Also drove teams for a time and was knocking out 6000-8000 a week on a dedicated account (before I became an owner operator). If you're happy where you're at then great. But keep in mind you are leaving money on the table. My record sits at just above 14k (gross) for the week

I ran across a Prime team lease drivers and the owner truck was in the shop and he said that they didn’t have any warranty do to the miles.. They went 3 weeks without a check. According to him. I can’t do it..
I’ll put it this was very bluntly. Everyday that you’re not on the road driving, you’re going to be in the whole $1,000. I drove 6 weeks, took 3 days off, and it took me a full 2 weeks to recover. That meant a paycheck of $0 and then next week a paycheck of $300. I then drove for another 6 weeks and after taking off 3 days, I ended up staying for an extra 5 days because of an illness. So in total 8 days off the road. I didn’t receive a paycheck for 6 straight weeks. This is my opinion, but prime is out here conning the lease drivers. I quit after the 4th week of no paycheck. And then get a $350 cleaning note for the truck. Its an actual scam on some con artist type level. Watch out bro.

If that pay was solo driving, id be considering it. I make 90k a year and im home every night, off every weekend and holiday and never work more than 12hrs a day.
I explained why it was like this the market is bad. And we went through truck maintenance i repeated that so many times bro. Your 90k is not my 90k you have bills to pay I don’t. So we can’t compare local and otr please understand that. I’m happy your home and got a nice job tho but I can save 75% of my income that’s unless you are living rent free and or under someone roof which is not a problem I just don’t have the luck you have if it’s that. Thanks for watching bro. I’m going to make another very soon now that market is picking up!
@@1rakiim fully aware that you explained the market and rates. Watched the video twice. And yes, you are correct on the differences. If you're happy with that pay and the life style that goes with that, that's good for you. The amount of money a person needs is drastically different from person to person.
Everyone in the comment sections makes 6 figures a year, home every night and off weekends lol. It's a story as old as time, everytime someone posts a video detailing their pay in trucking, someone always posts this same comment, it never fails.
I'm not comming at you, I would like to understand. What makes you guys do this? Is it to gloat or are you trying to offer useful information, genuinely curious. This industry has so many different variables, everyone's tax brackets will vary wildly. To be honest it always comes off as " I make more money than you for less work, i'm doing better so I don't understand why you're driving". I just don't get it...
@@jmh4gggquick and simple answer to your question about posting my pay and other info....because he asked for us to do it in his video. Did you not watch it, or just didn't watch it to the end?
So, once you guys finish with the lease, who will own the truck?
Company Trainers make over 90k a year 0.53cpmx4300 milesx4 weeksx10months
Leasing a truck with a company is a red flag 🚩 you could make 30k a month solo with your own company permits but hey wish you luck
Easier to get on with a company and some guys don’t have good credit to finance a truck…
I drive for kllm
At .64 cpm company.
Average around 13-1500 net per week.
Plus each week is 2 days pto at 100 per day so really add a extra 200$ ontop of that each week.
I can pretty easily net 5200$ each month running around 23-2400 miles per week. Not even counting the pto or the milage bonus pay etc
I understand what you saying , I enjoy the freedom of someone telling me what to do and what load to take and when to go home ! I’m
Happy you happy but like I said we had a few bad weeks this is just how it goes I’ve made more for sure. Appreciate you tuning in !! I know allat abou KLLM I have a friend she work for them road runna Nia check her on RUclips !
@1RakimTrucking best of luck bro
But KLLM is slow & kinda shitty and that's not a guaranteed company
rate
@@Impact.23 just net 1940$ off 3700 mile week
Really helpful been contemplating doing team lease. I see all the haters but if the market wasn't bad the money yall would make would be crazy. Anyway I can get in contact with you so we could do a 1on1? I'll pay for your time as well.
Dm me on TikTok @ 1rakimtrucking or email kwonstergreen12@gmail.com
I put away 30% every check last year cause I didn’t know what to put up and after paying my taxes I pocketed 6k sh had cheesin lol
Respectfully saying. I don’t understand why people lease a truck from a company.. The overhead is too high.. it’s is very difficult to be successful.. The only way it would work if all the money was going into one account.. like a married couple.. Then I can understand it..
Plus rates are just at a all time low. But I take your thoughts into consideration I’m behind the wheel you aren’t.
I make close to 3k company driving I have my own truck parked at the house I'm ok reciveing more money coming in then going out my cridet shot up 150 points since I park my truck
Recommend?? , should def promote your company and tell us !!! Thanks for watching 🫡
Company?? That’s awesome!
Can you explain what excess miles means? I know that you said something about driving too many miles?
Just your charged going over a certain mile I’m
Not sure the full
Breakdown on it but I’ll ask for you !
The bad comes wit the good💯 🤷🏾♂️
🤝🏾
So if someone was a solo driver the numbers wouldn’t be cut in half but what do you think that gross would be if you were solo?
Nah it depends how much you work fr we had truck maintenance ! So it never Is prob going to be the same
Sorry if this is dumb but does the expense column include y’all’s truck note?
Every thing yeah Brodie
What's the pay for 1 yr OTR at Prime Inc via team driving?
Reading is fundamental 😂
The last pay period wasn’t a bad week, the CPM was lower than the rest.
Why are yall only running 3k miles a week, team drivers avg 6k miles or better a week 🤔 you running solo drivers
I know you said team driving, but 3k miles for two drivers? Thats coo money, if you like driving with husband/wife or bestfriend (team driving)
been wondering where you was
We back gang 🤝🏾
You can get more as a company driver
I just like my freedom i appreciate that tho. More Money isn’t always the answer
Yeah everybody has their preference…but overall you have to know trucking leasing wise is very screwed right now if you only care about money
So you lease a truck paying about 125% of the real truck payment and all the expenses of an owner operator.
@@Rae_Rae-1 sadly , until I stack up and get my own truck I benefit stacking moneys till bro and building business credit everyone can’t buy a truck right away this puts you in the business mind it’s a rip off until you come up on top
@@1rakiim I know it just they profit of us and then resell the truck for all profit while only paying 72% of the load with some concessions. It’s hard to get ahead and make a good living!
@@Rae_Rae-1 it’s all good mane if I was the owner I’d prob be doing the same thing 😂 but at least I have no
Bills bro
@@1rakiim I wish you the best!!! Be safe!!!
Thank u!
How much is your lease payments?! You're way overpaying for that truck Bro.
70k a year with no benefits. Nope no thanks
I’m in tnt rn I’m thinking about doing team when I’m done. Are both of y’all on lease or is one of y’all lease op and the other is under company?
Both of us are lease
Fashoo preciate that y’all boys stay safe out there 💯
@@Supremejaaywhen you talking about if they both are leasing or one is under company
You mean they both have a LLC ? And leasing that truck? Or one have a LLC and the other guys is getting pay by the LLC owner?
@@1rakiim.. can you answae me that i would appreciated
Do you train? Or know someone who is willing to train? I tried to do prime and they told me, I needed a trainer because they are backed up
Did way better then what I do at my company ain making nun 😂
It's sad how it's basically the same amount as a local driver but without the benefits of seeing your family everyday
Seen family my last 23 years of my life
Bro, and I don’t have kids and don’t have bills remember that
@@1rakiim A I'm just saying that if you have those things local is better. Don't get stuck in the truck and let life pass you by.
I am currently a lease owner operator with prime and I have been noticing after accepting a load my estimated revenue drops from what the initial estimated revenue was.
Can anyone who’s been a prime driver for a while explain this please?
For example I’ll get a pre plan and it’ll say it’s paying $4,100 and I’ll accept it but then after a day or 2 it’ll drop to 3,900
Can someone please explain this.
Thanks.
great video bro,do team drivers get paid w-2 or 1099
If you lease 1099 company w-2 and i appreciate you 🫡🤝🏾
Flatbed solo my revenue 4-6k weekly take home 1500 -2500 not working weekends shit ain't bad

$70,000 is not worth the the stress
You make $100,O00 driving LTL with health benefits no stress as an owner operator
Not stressing I’m learning. Lol I don’t plan to work for companies my whole life thanks for your opinion tho bless
70k net after tax
No offense but you are doing solo miles as a team…I do 12-13k per month solo.
You obvs didn’t watch the video did you see how many things we had to go through ? We easily see more than this on a healthy truck now accidents if we stay out 35 days straight no down time we’d see way more but tall quick to compare when everyone situation is different it’s weird
That's not worth it staying OTR. $17k in 3 months and deduct what you need to pay the IRS ?
Some will say it’s not worth it. But like I said in the video we had some issues with our truck we had a few bad weeks and that’s just the reality bro. I’m sure if I had 3 months straight of trucking and no down time we’d have way more I’m sure! Plus I was missing a week from the beginning of the month it’s just the reality bro.
@1RakimTrucking Bro, I use to do OTR and all. I use to fuck with a lot of companies etc. What I'm saying home everyday and running local making the same as you or even more. Prime is a B.S company to work for and I can name multiple of trucking companies out here are doing ppl dirty!! Its a cut throat industry and yeah they see my name on here. I got proof and facts on these grimy ass companies 😒🙄
yall avg 3300 miles as a team
Other than that.. you will be making less than a company driver without health insurance.. You just taking the burden off the company when it comes to the truck..
Troll
@@an6077 I’m not being a troll , just telling my experience and giving my opinion…That’s all .what I say doesn’t mean nothing..
bro not for nothin I work for fedex freight I'm home everyday off weekends work about a 9 hour day in a daycab with no truck to worry about and make more than that. I'm not bragging but you need to abort ship asap! Go get you a LTL local job and lay next to ya woman every night instead of smelling him fart. 🎉
A team should be running around 20 thousand miles a month
You can make that going company.
Those numbers not worth it
Is anyone from California working for Prime? How much do you make working company and can you go local or regional?
When rates go higher and fuel comes down, the numbers will be much better. That's still not bad for having your own business and freedom. Hope you have a good tax guy and write off all you can.
Nah definitely! Just had a couple weeks bad because of maintenance is apart of the game! And we do have excellent tax people !!!
