what I do in the meantime is to 'open a program', do something on it that needs to be 'saved to keep the changes", hit 'restart' on your computer and when the computer returns and asks you to 'save' the program hit 'cancel' the pop up will be gone
I saw this today and I was shocked... Uninstalled McAfee, ExpressVPN and the Web Advisor, and all was okay. No virus detected on the system, but the notebook was sold with this software pre-installed. That's crazy!
You must be referencing a different kind of pop-up than the one I saw. There have been possibly hundreds of McAfee scams in the last 30 years. Sorry my 6-minute video doesn't cover all of them.

i was just reading about a pack on the sims 4 wiki and all of a sudden without clicking on anything my computer starts making beeping noises saying i have 5+ viruses and to install mcafee i knew it was bs bcz...cmon dude its the sims 4 wiki and i also only browse secure websites so i tried to click off but it redirected me too the buy page so not only was i frazzled but i was pissed aswell bcz for the past few months mcafee ads have been popping up and bugging me so i thought this was just some slimy scare tactic from them and bcz im very interested in viruses especially malware i started looking into things before finding this video so while the pop up i got was a scam probs thru one of the ads on the site i now learned of others experiences w mcafee and i like it even less lmaooo thanks for the video though!!! great info in here for ppl who dont rly know abt these kinda scams!!
