    Somali and Yemeni restaurants are very similar in many ways:
    A- customers are always very loud
    B- too much rice and meat, but less vegetables
    C- No organized crowd control and systematic seating order - people end up walking towards all direction , up and down in all areas of the restaurant. However, food is delicious and always extra hot.

      Not true. Yemenis have many dishes with vegetables, but their rice dishes are very popular

    Glad you enjoyed Yemeni food my sister.
    It is a shame it was expensive. Yemeni food is normally reasonably priced compared to other foods.
    The Soup you had is called Maraq
    The mix salsa is called Chutney or Bisbas (Green chilies)
    They also do Ashar (pickled lime in red chilies) if you prefer this to Bisbas
    The tea is the famous Adeni Tea (Adani shahi)

    Most Somalis in Europe hate Ethiopia. Some even think we are the reason for their problems. But we Ethiopians love and welcome anyone esp our neighbors. There are 10,000s Somalis in Addis, esp Bole Medhanialem area. Why the hate i don't get it. You almost never see Somalis and Ethiopians mix in Europe. A lot of Somalis left to Europe an America via Addis but they almost look down on you if you tell a somali you are Ethiopian.
    Addis is the gateway to Africa. It is where the African union seats. Every country has an embassy not just from Africa but around the world. If a country wants diplomatic relations in Africa, they build in addis. There is a street named after EVERY African country in Addis. Also , Somali land has no embassy in the world, only in Addis. Yet some still hate on us. Its ok...we only look forward and do our thing build for the future.

      It amazes me that Somalia has 1 religion, 1 people and yet they still find a way to divide. Somalia would have been same level or more than where ethiopia is today, if there was such a thing called love , tolerance there. Never too late to change. We have our problems but no matter what the politicians do to divide us, we stay united.

    • @Abdulkga
      @Abdulkga Год назад +3

      It's not really hate, it's ignorance and lack of tolerance towards other ethnic and religious groups.
      Two waves of Somalis came to America: the groups that came 70s & 80s were mostly educated students and they used to mingle and get along fine with Ethiopian diaspora or other ethnic groups in the US.
      The other Somali groups you talking about, came to America after the Civil War in the 90s and after. They're mostly uneducated, and traumatized by the war, as a result They're more religious, more conservative in their dress code, and more intolerant towards others whom they perceive as different.

    • @mrshonourable
      @mrshonourable Год назад +2

      We do have have other embassies. One opened in London recently too.
      I think the beef is from old disputes from the Somali region in Ethiopia and also the Ethiopian TPLF government that invaded Somalia in 2006 caused a lot of the hate. Ethiopia and Kenya both openly worked with non African governments to destabilise us, and the Ethiopian government along with djbouti pushed the 4.5 political system which is a backwards tribal system. The Somalis in the Somali region have also been treated terribly for decades and the Ethiopian government spends little to no money on developing the region.
      Anyway, I think relations between the two nations are improving significantly and working our neighbours is the best step forward. There are lots of Ethiopians in somaliland right now, and they locals treat them well.
