The choir in this soundtrack is somewhat of a lost instrument, methinks. It sounds so old-school and so menacing at the same instant. I'm glad you were able to restore this one.
You right. I was remembering the Galaxy 2 version with actual orchestra and choirs, and I found super awkward how the sopranos couldn't hit that high B note
Yeah. Galaxy 1's version is basically much like a higher quality pretty faithful remaster of the original piece, just with some added more space-y effects to fit the setting. Galaxy 2 on the other hand goes for a full re-imagining route with new orchestral implementation and a real choir.
YES! Probably my favourite track from SM64. Especially for the hits in the intro and the brass ensemble at the beginning. Such a masterpiece. Awesome to hear it in such clarity. ❤️
Well worth the wait, one of the best songs in the game (dare I say franchise) and this remaster sounds perfect. While I'm excited for the rest of the songs that are now possible, I'm honestly satisfied with what has been completed so far now that we have this song.
You have no idea how thankful I am that you guys finally managed to get around remastering this one. Koopa's Road is probably my favorite song in the entire Mario series because it made me realize games where more than just pixles on a screen. Thank you so much, Moola Mixtape, Church of Kondo and everyone who has helped in this project.
Incredible stuff. Just imagine the potential of high quality videos. Custom SM64 movies (like SMG4's old videos), but now with very good bgm. Absolutely incredible. Thank you for this!
Oh maaaaan. This is one of my favorite Super Mario 64 songs. I loved they brought it back for Galaxy. This is such a classic song. Sometimes still get goosebumps listening to it. This was a great first ever 3D Bowser stage song.
I grew up with 64 and loved this theme. I remember playing galaxy for the first time and hearing the remix for this theme flying Into the second boss stage. I absolutely freaked out and ran upstairs to get my sister. That was probably my first taste of musical nostalgia, the track still brings me back today, and this remastering does such a great job of retaining the original sound and only bettering its clarity.
I've been searching for something like this for a long time, not this song specifically but just the concept: a remake of an old game song that faithfully recreates the original arrangement and instrumentation, just with a massive upgrade in sound quality. This is flawless. Edit: Holy shit, this channel....
The intro to this song is just the coolest ever, 4 simple climbing notes repeated. Very foreboding, and now in the best quality possible! Good for you!
Ever since I first played SM64 waaay back when it first released, this was always one of my absolute favorite tracks. This version really brings out the brass and bongos to add a lot to the driving rhythm of the piece. Everyone talks about the sitar, and of course the sitar is awesome, but it's the little things Kondo added that helped make this so memorable.
The music of this course one and that of Jolly Roger Bay, listening to them is like traveling back to childhood, where things were simpler, without as many problems as we have today.
I always loved how Mario OSTs sound all bright and cheerful until the stages related to Bowser and then it sounds like everyone living there wants to die with how emotional and dark it is. This game definitely excels at this trend being among the best.
The ride, X2, at Magic Mountain has a flamethrower that they sometimes deploy and it reminds me so much of the flamethrowers in these Bowser levels in SM64
Greetings, my friends. You've travelled very far and encountered many obstacles. Along the way, you've encountered 5 of my henchmen many of whom who couldn't even get this far. I applaud you for managing to beat the odds and nearly my entire army, but it is time to end this once and for all.
This is the best Bowser's level theme ever! I hope that this music plays in the second movie from Mario, where Mario enters on the Bowser's castle, defeat all his minions, and arrive at him.
I forgot to mention that the only gripe I have with this is that it loops differently to the original soundtrack. When it looped in the game, it returned to the first part of the song sans the orchestra hits. Maybe it's just me, but it threw me off a little. Still, great to see someone restoring N64 and SNES soundtracks!
good ear I don’t think it’s the same source and definitely not the same sample, but theyre indian hand drums called tablas, kondo loves all sorts of cultural instruments and he uses them a lot in everything
This is amazing! Those strings and voice sound so clean.. amazing work. However, the loop is at the wrong point of the song. It should be 8 measures earlier.
Question about Genesis music: is there any way that I could play the music where I can get rid of the DAC? I remastered the Sonic 2 Robotnik DAC and wanted to put it in audacity with a drumless version of the song to see how it would sound
does this discovery mean anything for New Super Mario Bros.? i know it reuses some samples from sm64 since it was built on the DS version but idk if that's all of them
People dosen't realise how dark is this music. It literraly help me to fight agaist depression after quitte cegep for burnout. It feel like an wounded people in hospital that miraculously energie enought to get up hospital bed to fight cosmic devil and dosen,t understand why after beat some devil why he feel hope hapiness and despair at the same time.

Agreed
@@FoxerTails I require this “Lost Boy” sample
what choir?
@@Toxodosthat main "whooooo" female voice throughout the song (I think)
A lot of mexican groups and bands used this sample heavily in the 90's.
Its astonishing how close this decompressed version sounds in many places to the updated version for Super Mario Galaxy
You right.

That orchestral hit on the opening SLAPS!
Du du du du du du duummm!
It has the same sound as the metal cap music lead
DIN DIN DIN DEN DEN DEN DOON
I’ve never heard the trumpets at 1:11 before. It gives the piece a more triumphant feel that I’ve never heard in the original track.
More like TriUMPET, hahaha!! Haha.. ha..... I'll see myself out
Trombones actually
@@bigboiinanut9967 nah how about i kick you out myself
I've always noticed it. To be fair, it might be hard to pick up.
@@NKWoodworks No, it is a Brass section, not trumpets, or trombones, or tubas, or french horns, or anything like that.
There is SO much depth to this song, it perfectly matches the open and "empty" nature of the stages it's in
YES! Probably my favourite track from SM64. Especially for the hits in the intro and the brass ensemble at the beginning. Such a masterpiece. Awesome to hear it in such clarity. ❤️
Glad it came back for the Galaxy series, the orchestrated version of this is just a masterpiece. (As is the entire game.)
From 0:17 onward, I never heard the brass until today!

This song NEVER stops being nostalgic for me. Doesn't matter how many times i re-listen to it.
I didn't realize how epic and atmospheric this music was. Now with this version IT IS EVEN MORE EPIC!!!
Perfect remaster It sounds so much like the original, but better!
I just love the drums, it’s a constant reminder that your on your way to the King of The Koopa’s himself and your about to 1v1 him in an epic duel

Definitely one of my all time favorite 64 songs

How wasn't notified of this? It was my most anticipated track and this is perfect
I've been waiting to hear this. This is probably my favorite track in the game outside of the Main theme and Dire Dire Docks. This sounds so good!
This better be in the mario movie, It fits so well for bowser's dominance
We got something better. Fury Bowser 2 and "Peaches".
Oh my goooooddddd this is my favorite track from SM64. This is so beautiful, thank you to you and Moola Mixtape for doing this 🥲💙
One of my favorite pieces of music from any video game ever, finally restored to its full glory.
Nice.
insert the same comment i said on the first upload where i talk about how long i have waited for this, and it not disappointing me in the slightest
Another great remaster, it sounds amazing guys. Awesome work.
thank you for this beauty!!

Yet another remaster I was really wanting to listen to next to Bob-Omb Battlefield, good job. 👍
Ooh yeah boy I love this so much
Amazing once again. Some sounds cut through better this time around.
exactly how it sounded in my head
Truly sounds amazing.
have been waiting for this - amazing job!
I can just imagine a remaster of the Koopa's Road levels

This is the best Bowser's level theme ever! I hope that this music plays in the second movie from Mario, where Mario enters on the Bowser's castle, defeat all his minions, and arrive at him.
Wow this is so smooth compared to the original I like it!
This is beyond epic! Thank you guys!!
my god this is so good
Sounds even better than the Mario Galaxy version now
nah
Maybe Galaxy 1. I wouldn't say the same compared to the Galaxy 2 version though.
One of the instant magnum opi of this channel. ❤️
man if only the nintendo 64 used cd's, maybe they would of done better, either way still a great remaster

This is based on the OST version which loops differently, it didn't sound weird to me cuz that's also how it looped in the SMG games
Why did they snap so hard on video game music back then?
Another goodie!
This soundtrack was also remade in Super Mario Galaxy!
Nintendo went too hard with the soundtracks... with this one and Ocarina of Time... same engine another sound!
This theme sounds very Crash 3 to me when it’s in HD, but I can’t tell why. Either way, I love it.
Quite possibly one of the best tracks in mario 64 ok?
now I need an extended version
