ASICS is the best brand on the market right now. From a walking shoe to a race day shoe and everything in the middle, they have the best lineup on the market.
A couple years back I would have said not true Nike is still the king of the running game. But I have to agree Asics is the best in the business right now (coming from a Nike guy myself) I bought a pair of Nimbus 25 earlier this year and instantly became a fan of the brand. Just bought a lightly used pair of the Glideride 3’s, can’t wait to try them on. Keep it going Asics!
@@ax23xrNike have become very lazy in running imho. Aside from their flagship super shoe.....their line up is uneven, and unfocused. Nike has been coasting on their brand equity for a while now. And yes ...the Gel Nimbus 25s are really damn good shoes. Look good, modern, and are super comfy.
Definitely. ASICS has to be commended for totally turning it around. About four years ago they were about as cool as herpes. They were considered old fashioned, out of date, dad brand, stuck in the past, and duller than dish water. Now they are seen as innovative, modern, forward thinking, dare I say exciting......and say it ever so quietly......almost cool. Especially with how trendy their street fashion shoes and Onitsuka Tiger brand are becoming these days. But for sure their overall running line up is 2nd to none.
Novablast 3 TR is criminally under the radar. Not a full on trail shoe but just a Novablast 3 with an outsole that has better grip/versatility/durability. Wish there were more colorways of it.
Just got my first nimbus 25, and good lord its so soft. I overpronate just the slightest bit and the extra wide base helps me not collapse on my stride. I rotate the nimbus and tempus depending on my run. Great vid!
I used to race ASICS gt back in the 90s, helped me do 10k in 32mins. I now have nimbus 25 as I start to get back into running at 50 years old. Great channel guys full of great information 👍
I’ve always been an ASICS fan, but when I took a break from racing between 2016 and 2022, it was like coming back to a totally different brand (not mad about it)! Current rotation: Gel-Nimbus 25 - recovery Novablast 3 - easy Magic speed - workouts Superblast - long/tempo Metaspeed Sky+ - race Considering the Trabuco Max 2 for trails/snowy conditions this winter, and looking forward to the new updates!
For me, Magic Speed : Speedwork, Metapseed Edge+ : Racing, Glide Ride: Daily trainer. Didn't like Novablast felt like a slow max cushion. Noosa Tri like a faster harsher daily trainer. Getting Fuji Speed 2 soon for trail season. (Asics Fanboy)
I just got my second pair of Novablast 3's its so forgiving and easy on my joints, considering I'm 248lbs Cross Training athliete this is a no brainer for me to be competive at my Park Runs.
Interesting information about the Asics 2023. Like to Meaghan, Thomas and Robbe. My vote goes to: Long distance, easy run- Asics cumulus 25. Race day- Asics magic speed 3. Daily trainer - Asics Noosa tri 15. A nice day for everyone. 🌞🏃🌞
Solid review of the Asics lineup 🙌🏻. I definitely agree that the Superblast is one of the best shoes out there right now. I really liked the Metaspeed Edge + for Boston last year. It felt more stable than the Sky for my stride (old guy shuffle). While I liked the Novablast 3, I shelved it and opted for the Glideride 3 most of the year. And it wasn’t mentioned, but you can’t forget about the Noosa 🔥
@@alexanders4911The Superblast has FF Blast Turbo foam that is forgiving enough for easy days, but responsive enough for faster paces. The high stack height will help keep you from feeling beat up the next day.

I don't run but I walk trails and fish ponds in the midwest. I also go to the gym. I bought a pair of Fuji Lites that I wore to do, well everything and now I have 4 pair. I like the low heel/toe drop and the little bit of cushion. As I said, I don't run, but I really enjoy this channel and your emails.
I have the ASICS Trabuco Max 2 and it is the most amazing and super comfy running shoes that puts my other high end running shoes and race shoes to shame. And I love the 5mm drop of the Trabuco Max 2 cause it makes running feel very natural
Any chance you’d consider it a road to trail shoe or more strictly trail? Considering what to buy after really enjoying my Novablast Tr on roads and trails.
You're a little dismissive of the Gel Cumulus 25 guys. Both my wife and daughter use them for recovery and long easy runs and love them. Lighter (and cheaper) than the Nimbus and a trainer that suits many whereas the Novablast is often a firm and in my view a dead feel after awhile. Anyway a view from the UK.
I have the Superblast, great shoe! I also have the TM2 and man on the trails its brilliant! I've not had any issues with it, no rolling ankles or anything just nice comfy miles. I'm surprised you didn't include the Fuji trail 2 in the lineup. Asics smashed it out the park in 2023 and I look forward to the new releases of the Novablast 4 and Superblast 2
My entire rotation for my fall marathon has been Asics. Daily and recovery with Novablast 3, faster daily with evoride speed, speed/tempo with magic speed, long run with Superblast, and updated my trail recently with Fuji Speed 2.
Great video ! Re: the Novablast outsole - they have a “TR” version with better grip - also available now on nimbus and cumulus. Super excited for superblast v2… v1 getting me through so much of my NYC training
Glad the Novas made the cut 😅 It’s my first time wearing ASICS and since they didn’t have the Superblasts in my size, I had to go for the Novablasts for my 3rd marathon coming up in 3 weeks. Maybe if I’m lucky enough to win a spot in the lottery for Berlin next year, I can get the Superblasts well in advance 😊
Would it be fair to say that with Novablast (daily trainer), Superblast (high stack), Nimbus (max cushion recovery), and Magic Speed (super trainer), Asics now has the best option in each of the training categories?
I have a pair of the Nimbus 25's and only use it for recovery runs. I'm waiting to see what ASICS brings out later this year or the next for a daily trainer. Until then, I'll stick to the Hoka Clifton 9.
Lol I just left the Asics store in New York thinking which one to get and I see this video. Good work! The clerk at the store said that the Nova blast 4 is coming out in November
Superblast and Nimbus 25. A versatile combination. Cost effective because its cheaper than buying 3 or 4 pairs of shoes. Or at least thats what I tell myself.
Nice summary of the Asics line-up, I think you made a mistake with the Novablast 3 specs; according to Asics the stack height is: Heel height: 31mm Forefoot height: 23mm
Hope you guys can soon review the Fujispeed 2 plated trail racer soon! I was a little disappointed it was not mentioned. Seems like a winner for shorter trail races.
Can you please review the Asics Kinsei Max. It's been out for a while. And also notice, you've reviewed the Kinsei blast almost 2yrs ago. Wanted you're take on the differences on both shoe. Thanks.
I have the NovaBlast 1 & 2 and was going to get the 3 until I saw the Superblast but man it’s SO expensive and never in discount so hopefully it will be discounted soon 🤞🏼
Cumulus has 4e which fits my foot better than any other in the asics lineup (way better than 2e novablast), especially in the midfoot. It's a great soft workhorse trainer
2:29 Superblast is really going to be updated before year end? It’s barely in stock rn, and I need it already lol. 8:21 Novablast update inbound too, which I feel confident about since the v3 is already on sale.
Love your reviews! Confused on drop of trabuco Max2. At the beginning I saw 5mm and at the end I saw 8mm. Was the 5mm for the stability shoe before it? Thanks!
I would love a pair of superblast but for some strange reason asics have only gone up to a size 12 uk where as they normally do a size 14 or 15. Very disappointed considering the comfort of this shoe like you say for doing everything 👍
Wonder if they’re going to restock the Superblast any time soon. I went to ASICS to use my birthday $10 off and there were no Superblasts in either my size or 1/2 size up or down. (What did I do instead? Got a pair of Novablasts on sale.)
I picked up the Novablast 3 and in less than 100 miles I wore holes in the heels of both, I'm curious why you think that might be the case. The size was right, I'm a midfoot strider, and I've used the runner's loop at times so I'm not sure what happened.

Never buy Asics shoes anymore. The mesh they use is just too weak and I always end up getting holes after couple of months even though I run on asphalt and the shoes are right size (my toes doesnt cause the holes). Asics warranty doesnt cover those holes in the mesh.
