This song was done a great disservice by this music video. The lyrics ring true for anyone who's ever been a young man trying (unsuccessfully) to follow the advice of his friends, "get over her by getting under someone else "
What's it about?
@@AndroidOO3 basically it's about a guy who's hooking up for a one night stand with a rebound girl. They both know they're only doing it 'cause they cannot get what they really want and that they, in the end, do not mean anything to each other. So after the act he'd be walking back home, as there is nothing real between them. The guy is recalling the better times, when he didn't have to behave like this (hence he had a soul)

And he’s horrifically underrated in that. His “insults” are some of the most biting insults I’ve ever heard.
they're both PHENOMENAL musicians. Its amazing that he can play those complicated riffs, sing, and sometimes play harmonica at the same time.
best 5 bucks ever spent for a hour of majestic sounds captured in a concert held in a basement and a light bulb.

the farmhouse in las cruces nm was a little too wild for me, i saw these guys once very drunk and loud
Thanks to the movie Silk Road I found this band, and I'm very grateful. Easily one of my favorite discovered artists of 2021, along with another two member power house called Pil & Bue from Norway. I really hope we can see a Two Gallants concert here in Kelowna B.C.

One of the greatest live act I've ever seen! And they produce suck a thick sound with only two members!! Atleast that's how many were in the band when I saw them.

The most deepest and beautiful lyrics I've heard in a very long time. They way it just flow rhythmcally in his voice. I love the trembling in his vioce, like he's delibering a deep heart felt confession.

ya - I would say he's struggling too. But the pictures of the woman that apparently he misses, and the little chest that he can't open until someone (unknown to him, perhaps and angel figure) gives him the key to finally open it. I think it represents his willingness to accept and access his loss of the woman, after a long time of being locked out of himself.
"The smallest things in life, can be the most rewarding" type of sentiment.
I saw these guys on a dvd of bonouru(cant spell) and have loved them ever since. Awesome song.

Its all C,F and G. In the refrain it goes to an Am. The lick in the refrain goes 3-1-0 on the E then 3 on the B string.
I just checked these guys out because they're playing at a festival I'm going to this summer. Their music was described as "melancholy garage folk" and I was like, "ok, these guys sound cool".
