One of my good friends, whom I recently started talking to again, showed me this band while I was going through a breakup. By far I enjoy this band. Helped me get over it more
@@BLUEBEATLE001 i haven’t spoken to him in years now, i don’t even know where he lives heh. he was a very existential and “awakened” kinda of person and for me it didn’t vibe with my kind of anxiety. he was very nice though.
Saw these guys play with alkaline trio in Portland,OR back in 2009 and tim kasher was so drunk he could barely keep his eyes open but they were still so good that they stole the show in my opinion. I been a huge fan ever since. SOOOO underrated
Ha, I saw them as well when they toured with Alkaline Trio here in Cleveland. Ever since then, they've been one of my favorites. So unique and hard to explain how they are live to others. Something you just have to witness and appreciate on your own.
Just ended a FWB relationship tonight. The literal interpretation of this song is hitting me quite hard. "I wish that we had never talked, our hips said it all."
Slowly chocking on existential pain, masking it behind a harmonious melody. Do you have that courage to fight back against your grabbler overlords? History forgets the cowards so you may as well fight.
Tim Kasher will always be bae. I wish I could count how many times i have heard this song, either in itself or played/sung in different ways or played/sung at least 500 times by my ex. I always loved this song, but I never knew just how much it would matter to me later.
I watched the new episode of Community last Thursday and the whole time I was like "where have I seen Todd at before?" Jeez surprised it took me so long to figure it out seeing as how this is one of my favorite music videos.
^ wow, maybe it's just because I haven't been following news on American music for a while, but I would never have thought those 2 bands would tour together. I want to see this though.
I think the song has a lot to do with how we overwhelm ourselves because of our nature and up until the final scene in this video, you can see that the two main people are overwhelmed....because from our hips, we think about sex and/or love. THe end of the video is probably just what is Tim's idea of not being overwhelmed encompasses, which would be the desire for just one person.
+Satoko Tanabe I think its more about that feeling that 'you'll never know someone for the first time twice'. They will never be 'that mysterious man/woman at the end of the bar'/'that really lovely girl/boy who served me coffee' (the list goes on), once you know their name. Which is great, you build a relationship from that and its beautiful, but there will never be that same feeling of unknown 'I know nothing about this person apart from the way they move', aka them talking from the hips, not the lips. I believe this goes for music/film as well. It could be talking about the magic when you hear a song for the first time, or catch a film midway through at a friends with no idea what its called, who its by and what its about, and the more you read into it, and learn how it was created, and what the subject is, the more it will never be that piece of art you heard for the first time that moved you, rather than spoke to you (hips not lips). Im not trying to start youtube fights, just lemme know your thoughts :)
and then when you finally get to know them, even though its obvious and inevitable, you discover they're not anything other than normal, and human...and they discover that you're just normal, and human, and you wish you could take it all back, and meet them again for the first time.
Is about sex: our most refined habits are just to deceive us, while our most original drive is a gut feeling without sound, is the movement during sexual intercourse , an a sensation without the word.
Saddle Creeks Signs some great Bands The Faint, Cursive, Bright eyes (ok i guess). but still i never knew they were all signed by the label until now. Awesome
Pretty much the entirety of Dosmestica and The Ugly Organ albums and the Eight Teeth To Eat You With and Busrt and Bloom EPs, Dorothy At Forty, Warped The Wood Floors and After The Movies.
Checking these out before I see them at the Alkaline Trio show in Feb. Do they ever rock anymore than this, or is this kind of their sound? Any suggestions on songs to check out by them?
Got tired of domestica after looping it the 200th time, but I still dig it and respect it. Gotta say I was impressed by Happy Hollow as a concept album
Its todd from community, looks like he got roped into another school project with these cursive guys. so much for the wife and kids with those girls round him.
One of my good friends, whom I recently started talking to again, showed me this band while I was going through a breakup. By far I enjoy this band. Helped me get over it more
Cursive will do that ♥️
Give him a gift for it

Album of the year holds that spot. This song is a close third to the second best song in the world, The Casualty.

When did Cursive's sound become so mature? I love when you grow older and you find a band you loved grew with you. Like Conor Oberst, too.
Exactly this. Love Conor Oberst toob
Oh man! I forgot how much I love this song
I can't get enough of this song.

Really critical song. Therefore and for the melody - genious!
I've never heard cursive, but always really liked The Good Life... I think I found my new favorite song!

Saw them play this live its so much better live.
omg the 5secondfilm girl!!!!!
After listening to this song for a while, I suddenly realized what this song is about.
enlighten me
+Omar Hernandez read the lyrics. Basically "do it like they do it on the discovery channel"
+Satoko Tanabe I think its more about that feeling that 'you'll never know someone for the first time twice'. Cool.

i just wanna be the first to say, it's hilarious that they gave Tim a mandolin.
Got tired of domestica after looping it the 200th time, but I still dig it and respect it. Gotta say I was impressed by Happy Hollow as a concept album
