The teacher could have let you run to the school and drop it off. She was wrong for that. Everyone makes mistakes. I have an Idea, let her share her project with us. That way, she won't feel bad. Just a suggestion.

As a teacher myself, I'm amazed that the teacher even read the email then. We're busy teaching and don't usually have time to read emails in class. We shouldn't be reading them in fact. As a mom though, I understand. I resorted to putting important things in the car the night before or leaving a sticky note on my steering wheel. We're only human.

Unfortunately I didn’t get the same for my own kiddos … we homeschooled by 4 th grade . Best thing I ever did too . I pray she is ok with it aww . Your pumpkins turned out so great !
I absolutely agree 💯 percent... that Teacher was in the wrong, ..can you imagine the sadness, the disappointment....of a child, ??? BY .. soneone telling a parent that she couldn'tdrop off the Project???? ... Her " decision " is damaging to a child.
I have dropped off my Daughters projects ,whrn they were in school ( years ago ) but no one said : " No. You can't drop it off. .." I just showed up. That's me. Lol. Having been part of PTA, ( and I feel that Teachers have way too much power, anyway....) No one was going to tell me that I'm " not allowed to drop off a Project " that was honestly overlooked to bring to School . We pay their Salaries. I did not take any crap off of any Teacher, Principal. No one. I would have took it anyway. ..and have a talk with the Principal while I was there.

Let me just comment before I watch the whole video. Your daughter sometimes reminds me of my daughters who is now 21 and 24 and I still can’t believe that but anyways. She has such a sweet heart you can totally see that. My girls do to…. I’m sure she was very upset but….I bet she also really enjoyed seeing everyone else’s too. Shes so sweet I bet she also has such sweet friends that they were making her feel better. I could be totally seeing this wrong but that’s how I see you guys. Yes the guilt is there you just don’t want it to stay long. is nice to share. the way my parenting went was YAAS hang it on the but ya know we still have forgotten this that way too. When you think of ALL the years you’ve had to do this. There will be WAY more times you remember and get it there with it all. ❤. Just felt like giving some encouragement for anyone who has these feelings sometimes. Tks for your videos. My 21 year old still at home works full and on my work days she has dinner ready for us. My daughter is 36. When she was in school, I volunteered at her school. They wanted parents to be involved. When my daughter had her children, I thought when they started I would volunteer in their classroom also but that never happened. School has changed so much its like they dont won't you there. They want them to grow up to fast. My granddaughter is 12 one of her teachers told her class " I dont have favorites, I hate you all the same." So now we do public school online at home. It is great and my grandbabies love it. I just love your videos !! You are a great Mom❤
I use clear marbles in the bottom of my vases. They not only help the stems stay where you put them, they also look nice in my clear vases. I love your fall decor!

I change stuff too. I’ve moved my fall stuff around already and took some down. Then I replaced it with other stuff I had. Then I get tired of it all soon and want to take it all down. Lol.
I go minimal on all decor EXCEPT Christmas lol. I go all out at Christmas!!

I just had a mom moment as well. My daughter needed magazine clippings and photos and personal things for her journal and i totally forgot as well. Im hoping the teacher had magazines and things for them to use as a backup

I go all out with all my decorating…even when it’s just every day decor. I will actually take a picture with my phone of something I’ve decorated so I can get a different look at it. I use coffee beans in the bottom of my clear vases/jars. It makes it look real natural…..almost like dirt. Smells good too. It also hides the bottoms of the stems and helps the florals stay in place. I love what you’ve done. The pumpkins you painted turned out so awesome. ❤
Shame on that teacher! It’s not like she’s teaching middle school or high schoolers. She 100% should have let you bring that in for your daughter to share. On a lighter note, Love all of your fall decor and diy! 🎃🎃🍁🍂🍃

I was a teacher for years and am a sahm for now. Projects usually take more than a day because there is no time to have them all presented in one day. I would of at least let your daughter present the next day. It's elementary school! Things happen. You made the effort to make contact and unfortunately there are educators out there who are rigid. It sucks that she didn't get to share her project.Btw, I love the big pumpkin from the bin.

Beadboard painted white would be a pretty backsplash . I believe that's what you have on the sides of your other cabinets in the kitchen. Would tie that in well.

As a grandma of 7, when this happens again (yes it happens sometimes) I would suggest driving to the school and letting the office person walk it to the classroom. Sometimes it’s better to ask for forgiveness than permission 😮

Good prices! Those little $1 pumpkins are $2 here in Canada. We literally don't get half of the stuff the US gets.

I hope she accommodated your daughter with something similar to what your daughter had in mind if she declined hers. I do not do pumpkin drinks they taste awful to me. I love pumpkin foods from soups, pasta sauces, breads and muffins, pancakes and even a fusion Indian pumpkin curry. I use frozen pumpkin chunks or pumpkin puree. I am not a fan of canned foods because they always taste metallic to me. TFS. As always love to hear you giggle and your shares😊

Everywhere I went today, including the grocery store smelled like pumpkin spice! It was a little much. My favorite scent for year round is anything with apples!
Carrie, maybe if you had a tall slim like shot glass to put in the middle of the vase to stick the stems in and then put water around the glass, it’ll keep your dry stems dry, lol, that would probably work! 😊

I remember years ago you wouldn't dare put flowers in a container that showed the fake stems. Now its stylish. Sorta like used to if your jeans had holes in them you were seen as poor. Now people pay big bucks to have holey frayed jeans. Lol. We humans are strange creatures. Your kitchen looks pretty with the Fall touches. As for mom guilt, all part of being a mom, but its okay. You show your kids your love everyday. Nobody is perfect. I just added touches of Fall to my house this year.

Great vlog Karrie. The pumpkin DIY looks amazing. I may want to do that texture with the baking soda on a large lamp. I am a minimaist when it comes to fall decor. I'll add some touches to my home which is mainly neutrals and dark brown wood some hints of terracotta plus warm tones. I prefer to decorate with pieces and textures that work with what i have and transition or switched with ease. TFS 👍🏽🍁🍂

Looking great! Your kitchen would really benefit from under cabinet lighting! You can get stick up strips of LED lighting that are usb rechargeable and come with a remote. We love ours

I don’t understand why the teacher would not let you bring Maya’s project to school. Could you update us if she was able to get credit for it. Things have drastically changed since my kiddos were in school.
What if you did backsplash that was either subway or the square tiles, that are chippy at the end and glossy. They look handmade. You can get various beige, creams, greys, whites and set them organically so no pattern to them. I really hope that makes sense. I think that would look great with your space. ❤

I finally figured out how to keep cutting boards from sliding down-Alien Tape. Just cut a little cube and stick on the bottom and wow that works wonders.

That teacher sounds like a witch. This is not freaking college or something, I mean come on. If the school wasn't that far away and they already started, she could have allowed you to bring it in so she could have been one of the last ones to show hers. I would have called her counselor or principal of the school, because she might get a zero now. 😢 Smh
