If Northwest was open you should have gone to the backside and caught the catch line there. It’s even more awesome cause you don’t have to worry as much about where you go near the top of the mountain. Sick run though;)
One of the beautiful things about Mt Bachelor is that off Summit you have 360 degrees of mountain to ski from. This let s you pick the aspect that is most favorable based on wind-sun-snow etc. The NW bowls are grand, watch my video Summit Backside Voodoo Wall, but some days you have to look to leeward, where wind deposition is where it's at. And wearing K2 Darksides, with a 128 waist, I was going for soft.
Epic day. Which chairlift where you headed towards? I thought you were doing the west bowls, and would take the catch line back to Northwest, but you turned left. Headed back to cloudchaser?
@@mundanelark1852 I like taking summit to the East connection way beyond cloud chaser, it’s very exploratory and requires a bit of work to get back. But with a season (or outplay) pass it’s worth it.

@@mundanelark1852 Ahh, I see. Fair play brother. I usually don’t like hiking below Cloudchaser cause I’m lazy haha.
What a fun run and not another soul around. Would love to ski out west but for now stuck going to NC to ice and slush ski.
That was a extremely long run.

Yes, I went to Cloud Chaser. The catch trail at 5:30 is Sunrise getback. Cloud getback has a notable amount of uphill.
