I was 50 when I first heard this. I’m 94 now!
lol
serious? If so, that's bad ass. No joke.
I fucking love you man if you're not winding us all up I bought the 1980-1986 EPs collection so I didn't scratch my realities of war & fight back EPs in 1987 or was it 1988 anyway I don't know what I was going to say now had a little drink but take care of yourself anyway old dude DISCHARGE FOREVER
did you fight ww2?
@Soundeagle3456 love that too somebody please say something like I'm 16 but my mum & dad raised me on DISCHARGE CHAOS UK EXTREME NOISE TERROR & loads of other punk hardcore crust or whatever & let me know there's more than just idiots growing up today
Discharge are a piece of history. Both Metal and Punk shouldn't have been the same, without them.
they launched a whole entire genre as well!
haven't heard this for donkeys years !! I just read a book about "Cult and Evolution of Black Metal" .. amazing how many bands were influenced by Discharge :-)
@@MyEvolution5 a lot of Punk / Hard - Core bands, or early acts that united Punk and Metal, influenced Black Metal. Too many to name in few lines. An anedocte that i always rememeber is that Quorton, back in the day, used to put an ad in a musical instruments shop in Stockholm looking for other musicians to form a band with, and that he quoted three bands as his main inspiration source in the ad, one being GBH, another one another classic band of Punk / Hard - Core whose name i can't rememebr, and only the third band were a Metal band, MAYBE Iron Maiden. The "core - fact" is that his main influences were , as above said, Punk / Hard - Core. A band like GISM, the pioneers from Japan, for example, was born as an Extreme Punk act, but their riffs and vocals and sopund in general have a lot of what later should have been defined Black Metal (some of the latter Black Metal knew the band, some didn't). Venom themselves were half Punk half Metal. King Diamond and Hank Shermann from Mercyful Fate used to sing / play in Punk bands. Whether one likes it or not, Extreme Metal and Black Metal particularly owes A LOT to Punk.
@assurdo888 I am into Extreme/Black Metal...but my musical roots lie in punk/hard-core punk. My hometown gave us the ANWL 😎
Motorhead
I remember listening to this as a teenager in the 80's. there was nothing harder out there! I still own this 45 on vinal. a prized part of my record collection
Im 57 now & still lovin it.
I HAVE THIS ONE OLSO ALONG WITH THE OTHER EARLY ONES WOULDN'T PART WITH THEM FOR NOTHING PUNK IS FOR LIFE NOT PART TIMERS LONG MAY IT LAST
@@iandarragh6437 good music lasts forever and thankfully i was lucky to grow up with punk, still love it today, punks here forever ian and we are all still in it.

Best punk band.ever.
Try GBH
Fuckin punishing
I had the EP and the leather jacket to go with it, now 49 years old and still listening to this sort of stuff. Its as fresh as the day it was released. how many bands did they influence, must be 100s
shortly 1000s
oh yeah moonhog01 me too mate. Right on the button. Without Discharge Metallica, Slipknott et al wouldn't exist. Can't believe I'm 49 too :)
Im 48 and grew up listening to this, still got me singles, loud days.
100s In Sweden alone ; ) .
moonhog01 Yeah i concur , i had a RAF flying jacket compete with studs and discharge cloth badge ,only wish i'd kept it . I am 50 and still listen to them too ..
What do we have here? The birth of modern underground extreme music.
+Richard Brown - Which spawned crust punk, then "thrash" (not thrash metal) bands like Heresy and ENT, then grindcore...
thrash and black metal too
@@shroomzed2947 dont forget pop punk
moe
If you call 83 onwards modern......
Timeless. At 53 I'm not going to cringe n say 'It's a racket", It's as intense and well produced as the day I heard them - 80/81...and the messages exactly the same. Brilliant and raw.
At 54, I concur my man.
It's probably wreck n roll...
At 54 me too lol😎
@@Alastor_UrLocalDumass same here 😁👍
John is this you from Ashton Preston?
One of the first singles I ever bought. The neighbours used to worry about me because I would shout out of my bedroom window 'they declare it... fucking WAR!' They were right to be worried, but still ... anarchy!
Lmao, sounds like helluva good time buddy. Wish I was there to see the neighbors faces!
I first heard discharge around 1983 as a young 14 year old punk kid it blew me away.
I was 18 in 83. It completely changed my attitude about punk and politics.
It’s crazy how modern they still sound. This ep and all the singles they released in the early 80s still sound fresh and modern.
This band is more relevant today than ever before
80-82 discharge forever!!!
U BETTER BELIEVE IT HARDCORE PUNK AT ITS BEST NO ONE CAN TOUCH THEM
I grew up listening to punk, ska and Oi through my Dad,, but of it all, I am glad I was introduced to this. This is the sound I want.
Fucking unreal
The birth of all extreme music
They Declare it, Is so Awesome
my fave on this ep
Im 53years old i was in punk mille, i can that...and love discharge great band...( i can much punk band on this fucking world...) and make that band...
Best band ever. Nothing comes close.
Nothing sounded like them back in the day
better than the Beatles
@@thomasdupont7186 the beatles invented all.
Saw these back in 1980, They warmed up doing realities of war and the sound was probably the loudest I have ever heard. The shear volume at the gig has lived with me to this day
All the way up to 11
I am 60 now.once a punk always a punk
I'LL DRINK TO THAT 🍻 ONCE YOUR IN THERE'S NO WAY OUT IT'S FOR LIFE NOT PART TIMERS 👍☠👍☠👍☠
great ep great Discharge D-Beat monsters!
my soul is clean again , rid of media radio , praise the lord !
Hello all my brothers and sisters all over the world. We are the old punks now lol.....old
....but the music is immortal.
This e.p. certainly is.
bands like Inepsy, Varukers, even Defiance never would've even picked up music if it wasn't for Discharge's bone-crushing debut EP!
This was probably the hardest hitting tune back in the day it changed me as a punk while my m8s still listened to the pistols etc i was into discharge ❤
EP still sounds fresh, amazing band..
40 years later insane
@Creature Rock man whats EP ?
Fiero Vitto extended play with more tracks than a single, but fewer tracks than an album (album is called LP)
I love this EP. I come here to get strength!
And so it began...
Keep seeing everyone in the comments talking about listening to this in the 80s... I feel a little left out as a 15-year-old. 😶 Any other young punks/metalheads here?
Hell yeah! Punk for life.
Fucking awesome band back then you didn't need drink or drugs for adrenalin just this to go mental !!! Proper punk rock
no drugs needed just anger
Society's victim still sounds brutal after all these years
probs my fave tune on the record
2018 more than 1980
as a dedicated '76 to '77er i thought the best was behind us until i heard this.
The 70’s saw the dust and dirt of the old tired rock and roll get shaken off in a fit of pent up aggression and resentments. Must have been quite a rush.
But, the bands of the second wave stepped in in leather and Mohawks singing reactionary lyrics and were the working class themselves not being paid lip service by art school students.
But, I wasn’t really there but pretty brushed up on my punk rock history.
Discharge started in 77 if I'm not mistaken, but when cal started doing vocals that shit was next level fucking brutal.
If you lived in Stoke you would be this angry too
I had a great summer in NYC where this little ep was the soundtrack with a few other bands. Youth! One of the best summers of my young life!
Raw and brutal.
My favorite record from discharge
Done a swap for this discharge e.p for a shitty sham69 album. Best thing i ever did.
neil phillips which sham album
whitedwarf13 can't remember the name of the album. It had Hersham boys and gonna be a borstal break out on it and the cover was of newspaper cuttings over it. . . .
neil phillips That's Life is the Name of the Sham lp
neil phillips fuck sham 69 ! puro D BeAT
bum skag lol, , , , went to see sham69 and wot a ripoff, never again, they only played for an hour the support band's played longer. .and they were shit to.
They declare it,hard-core punk at its finest
Wish i lived in stoke back then lived nearby for a while in uttoxeter but to early for it 1976 bastard!!!! :(
...and it's still as relevant as it was in 1980.
Best of the 2nd wave punk bands fucking loved this band more than my hometown band the exploited they inspired a lot of bands back then and still do
i was in junior high school. college radio used to play this during their punk/hardcore nights. it was the best. what great memories.
Love the vocals, riffs, basslines, rhythm and the purpose of the songs!!!
my favorite of Discharge
This has always been my fav Discharge record. Something about this one really does it for me. I mean, they all do, but ya know…
I keep coming back to my youth
I was a punk who visited Romford in 1985 to see some fellow punks who we all met in Cornwall (Butlins). Sweet memories.
I've still got this record.
AND I STILL HAVE MINE ALONG WITH ALL THE OTHERS WON'T PART WITH THEM 4 ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD
It was the birth of CLAY RECORDS !!!!!
The birth of extreme music😎
40 years of this jewel.
Not a big fan of Hardcore Punk, but I really enjoy this band!
Edit: Now I'm addicted to Hardcore Punk lol.
Well, you’re really missing out!
All the hardcore punk bands I've been around act like nazi skinheads from hollywood movies. They're all on power trips.

Discharge. The definition of a "Not Fun" band. And we love them for that.
This and Pure Hell-Noise Addiction are timeless
Just now discovering these guys. Wish I had sooner. Frickin awesome 👌
Don't know if anybody cares , but I remember this when it released ,a brilliant cover image & realising this was (like 'Feeding the 5,000 'by Crass) something very different in the punk genre .After playing a side on his show John Peel said " the sound of discontented Stoke on Trent" ,which stuck in my mind ....
yea i remember this well as i do the feeding of the 5000 by crass. i cant remember where i bought the realitys of war ep but it was the week it was released and i bought the feeding of the 5000 direct from small wonder records on the small wonder label before it was re-released....in my punk days of course where my true roots are
I still have everything they did originally first saw them live in 1981 London on Apocalypse Now tour & few times with GBH who blew them off stage every time.Still have my Crass stuff &, 99.9 % of my 70's/80's punk vinyl
If someone said to me it was in my punk days, I would think they were never punk anyway, they were just on the band waggon. I am still a punk from 77 and been listening to new punk bands ever since 77,

@@rrbh I was sure it was Eric's, got given drum sticks from the drummer, though we are talking over 40 years ago, we used to blag our way back stage
@@a1andyharrison Realities of War came out March 29th 1980. Eric's closed down 14th March 1980. I don't think Discharge did any dates outside of Stoke until the EP started selling. They did play Brady's in 1981 and some photos have finally emerged from that gig. I will be very surprised if we can truly establish that it was an Eric's event. I'm also hearing rumours that their early Liverpool gig involved a massive punch-up at some point or other ...again, details are sketchy.
