I cannot for the life of me understand why people become so fixated on owning and being seen wearing a "label" that they'll part with $900 dollars for a pair of glued together sandals that have not ONE stitch holding them together, have sub-standard materials used in the making, and decide they've made a good decision. I just don't get it. At best, that's a $50 pair of sandals. That said, fine work fellers. Always a pleasure to see something getting brought back to life and refreshed so well. God bless you both in your efforts. We missed that GSP too.
I 100% agree with you and Very well said $ 900.00 for walmart quality Sandals that's insane But on the flip side people that Blow and spend money like that will pay insane money for another new pair of Sandals or pay more money to get them repaired i say that's a win for poor and middle class person that do all the work robbing from the rich and giving back to the poor and start all over again
@@Michael-Makes-Stuff They COULD BE counterfeit HERMES..I can buy fake designer name shoes, watches, belts etc etc right here on Canal St (in Chinatown) NYC or even along 5th Ave NYC..
@EmelyPhan I completely agree and even know some like that. I would rather pay for quality and not a name. And a lot of times there are brands where you will even get both.
Those look absolutely gorgeous once you were done with them. However, as many of others have commented, I can’t imagine paying $900 for a sandal of any kind. Essentially a sub-par foot bed with a leather strap over the top. To be honest, I would struggle to justify spending $900 for American made PNW boots that would be much more worth it.
💯 not the $900 sandal or shoe guy but....I do appreciate the quality craftsmanship you put into the restoration gents. They turned out so well. Annie couldn't stomach the price tag and opted out of the video 😅😅😅. I get it Annie girl. Blessings
This when a person has too much money. $900 for a pair of sandals is stupid. Your sandals are a way better value than these Hermes are. You made them look way better.
Hey guys, I know you work much harder on other restorations but there's just something special about seeing these sandals come back to life. Thanks, great job.
You're guy's are the best in the business, oh wow I'm totally impressed by the finish of this incredible sandals, man looks incredible restoration mind blowing seriously, Happy Thanksgiving to you both...until next time, all way from St George Utah...
A few times, at the end of your videos, you have asked the question, are they worth the purchase price? I'm surprised that was not added. This would have been an excellent opportunity to plug your own sandals and compare yours to these.
Very very surprised that the insole was paper. Hermes built their reputation on only using the best leather and other materials and hand sewing everything. Could it be that even they, with their ridiculous pricing, are starting to cut corners? Or, could it be that those are fakes? I know the fake Birkin bags are very nearly as good as the originals and it would take an expert to know the difference.
I am an amateur leather worker, a few years ago a discussion raving about their hand sewing came up on a blog. Shortly thereafter I was in Vegas and seen a Hermes store so I studied their work for about 20 minutes. IF they are hand sewn the craftsman made the same error on every 4th stitch throughout the entire bag. Birkin bag. Highly doubt they are hand sewn. For the price it better be perfect.
For all the folks commenting the $900 price tag of the sandals. Don't forget when you buy these sandals you get a 2' x '3 battery powered blinking neon sign that says "I'M WEARING $900 HERMES SANDALS!!" that hangs conveniently around your next with an arrow pointing to the sandals. And the sign is USB rechargeable and it's FREE! When you put it in that perspective the sandals with the sign are really quite a value. 😁😁
I can't even begin to imagine having enough money to spend a sum like that on a pair of sandals! I'd only consider such a sum if the shoes were (a) substantial, actual shoes, and (b) custom fitted to my own feet. But that's never going to happen. If I came into that kind of money, I'd spend it on practical things like deferred (expensive) household maintenance and repairs!
if my shoes use oak bark tanned leather soles and are hand welted, can they be re soled using the same leather soles and can they be handwelted back and not machine stitched ?
Great job! You guys do such excellent work. But $900 for… sandals? That is insane. I would rather buy multiple pairs from you guys. Better quality and a fair price! 😃 I can’t imagine paying $900 for any single pair of shoes. Wow.f
Hermes is notorious for their snob appeal. Their Birkin bags have a price tag like a house and (unless you’re a kartrashian) come with a a two-year-plus wait list.
As a french guy, I'm very surprised with these very low quality sandals, I'm wondering if these are real Hermes. This is not corresponding to their standards. Anyway, nice job 👌
I’d pay $900 for what you guys did. But Hermes, tops, I’d pay $30 bucks. They are crap until you guys get a hold of them. Reminds me of when I went to the Golden Goose store in Santa Clara Valley Fair Mall. I literally laughed in their face. I said “I know you’re just doing your job, but these shoes are so much crap it’s borderline a scam”. They looked like some teenager wore a generic pair of Vans for a whole summer! No thank you!
My brother-in-law has the worst foot odor imaginable. I'm talking about an odor so intense that it could warrant calling in a hazardous decontamination company. He once took a pair of his dress shoes to a cobbler for a heel block repair, but the cobbler refused to work on them and insisted he take them out of his shop immediately. What do you do if you receive a pair of stinky shoes for repair? Beware, if he sees this he may send a couple of pairs to you.
Haha…wow, that’s pretty bad! Honestly, it’s quite rare. Out of thousands of shoes, we’ve only had a few pairs that really smelled. We have some odor killer stuff, like bowling alleys, that we’ll spray them with.
Well let's just suffice to say that your Southern Polished are by far away a superior product compared to these . $900 dollars ? Seriously ? What a rip off. The owner is now getting a much better constructed sandal . Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.🦃🥧
Can anyone help me… I live in the UK and my girlfriend wants some traditional cowgirl boots! Who makes good ones that will ship to the UK? Thanks in advance everyone! 👢
I love your videos you do amazing job at everything you put your hands on . I don’t understand the hate in the comments about the price of these sandals etc. and also I bet that these sandals are not original for many reasons , maybe not the cheapest counterfeit but still a counterfeit.
They said near the end that they did it for free. Someone would have to be crazy to pay for a rebuild that basically was a new bottom added to a strap.
The Perfect Gift Idea is Right Here... Special Anson Belt offer here: ansonbelt.com/trent Get 6 POSSIBLE belt combos for under $100. Thanks Anson Belt for sponsoring this video.
Can’t imagine the feeling you guys have working on these knowing you two make a higher quality sandal at a fair price.
It’s only a pair of sandals they aren’t doing heart surgery on babies 😊
@AndyL940
The old generation used to say, "if you can't say something nice, say nothing at all."
@@paulsheffield888 Yes, but that one wears their stupidity on their sleeve.
@@AndyL940 that makes it all the more amusing that the hermes sandals are garbage in comparison
They are not paying for the sandals. They are paying for Hermes.
I cannot for the life of me understand why people become so fixated on owning and being seen wearing a "label" that they'll part with $900 dollars for a pair of glued together sandals that have not ONE stitch holding them together, have sub-standard materials used in the making, and decide they've made a good decision. People also spend 60,000+ on pick up trucks that they may use the bed 3-4 times a year.
That old saying, "there's a sucker born every day", holds true to someone who would pay $900.00 for a pair of sandals. Just one man's opinion..
But they are HERMES…! 🤣🤪
I'd be embarrassed to wear them
A large part of it is paying for the name and not much else for some people

$900, and for that one gets paper? PAPER?? Potter & Sons: not $900, made in USA, and not paper :)
If something like this costs 900 it means it is probably an overpriced piece of shit
and there was me thinking a sandal repair video would be boring!!!!!! Cracking vid chaps, so interesting to see how you brought them back to life
You guys do amazing work love to watch your videos.
Amazed at the final results! Incredible!

Fabulous work! They look fantastic!
So glad to see a new video! These turned out great!!
They came out looking better than new to me. You guys are great.
$900? How much of that is paying for quality and how much is that paying for the name?
Whatever, you guys did a superb job, probably better than new.
Also, hope you get the sprayer back up and running.
Thanks! 😉 A LOT of that is name.
My guess would be 850$ for the Hermes label…
Now that's A LOT of glue going into one pair of sandals. Great result as always!
You guys are great craftsmen. I can't believe what a fantastic job you did on those sandals. Amazing workmanship.
Once there were all done, I was seriously like… uhhhh, I’d consider rockin’ those!
You guys are the best in the business hands down! Also, I ordered my flops despite the cold weather. They’ll be ready for the spring 😁
I wear mine in the winter.
$900? That’s about $899 more than I would have paid for them 😢
$900.00 dollars for those ugly things? LOL. I wouldn't pay $5.00 for them. Nevertheless ... I like your videos and your expertise.
Thanks for watching!
Very nice - they came out great. BIG FAN of Anson belts - own two of them now.
WOW. What a transformation.

Better than brand new
Always … !
Gonna be honest, y’all did a great job but there is no arch support or like grip at the bottom. 900$ for basically something to slip on, got it.
Yeah, I would've thought a rubber heel would be better. Then again, I'm not the designer making $900 off a sandal. 😀

Not sure, but from our experience most "designer" brands don't make quality footwear. Ralph Lauren being one of the exceptions.
