September 1, 2024: “Lessons from the Underground”

We are living in what many are calling a “psychedelic renaissance.” While there is vast potential for psychedelics to change the way we approach mental illness, there is also a danger in commercializing plant medicines and extracting them from the cultural and spiritual contexts in which they belong. When approached with reverence, what can the mushrooms teach us about living in greater alignment with values of love, generosity, reciprocity and respect? In this talk, former FirstU member Amy Sedgwick will share some of the insights she has gained on her personal and professional journey with psychedelics, as she endeavours to live more fully into our shared values.
