In this exclusive report, Mark Stone talks to inmates inside an IS prison in northeastern Syria.
Some of the prisoners are horribly disfigured and many are questioning what will happen to them.
Ishak Mostefaoui, a prisoner who originated from east London, admits he was with the Islamic State but says he no longer believes in its values.
But a prison guard describes the situation as a "ticking time bomb waiting to explode".

the way ishak speaks to the reporter, it's so obvious when he's lying. he's a psychopath so he's trying to appear calm and casual but all the shock of being kept like that is making his lying easy to see through. the camaraderie among these inmates is the only thing keeping them alive.

Some where saying that the air condition was just part of what they were planning to really use them for. It could be possible that they might get gased considering they are in a country where they practice death penalty on perpetrators as a sport. It’s sad though that people such as those Islamic extremist don’t ever consider listening to their conscience but instead act on impulse and resort to violence.
Think about it: if they die from heat, then they have escaped. It's more of a punishment to go on living, but to in a way, be tortured. Plus, the guards need something too.

Many Isis militants were Iraqi soldiers who were tortured and humiliated by American soldiers and Shia militants back in the Gulf Wars. They hated the West amd wanted revenge so much that the result was what happened in 2011-2018.

Every time the interviewer asks a prisoner if they still follow IS, or support terrorism they answer with a slight upward inflection in the tone of their voice and sometimes repeat their answer. "No, no, no." These are tells they are lying. I may be wrong, but if I am not and they are released they will continue their brutal attacks.

Well youre technically not wrong but that rule is for people who speak english as a first language. Facial expressions and tones of voices are different around the world for example a way an arab may speak may seem completely sarcastic to an english person or the way a russian may speak may come across as if hes irritated to an english person. Most prisons in Mexico are very decent these days. They live in small but clean group cells (of 4) and they can work or study. Not that bad, venezuela is a different story
