I love watching your videos I live in Detroit Mi and watching these videos are like watching National Geographic learning how these wild animals live in these conditions are unbelievable and the way you catch them and set traps man is something I find amazing I'm sure it took you years to learn so much about living in the wilderness surviving under conditions where the average man wouldn't live 2 days I've been a fan of your channel a few yrs now and when a new video pops up I stop everything and watch it Keep up the good work Andrew God bless you and take us on a day trip into town one day I'd like to see how things are done along with the cost of living there it kind of puts things in its proper perspective about how important it is to live hunt and survive in the wilderness
@Vincent Nothstine Haha, you too eh ? That's a smell you never forget...AND it hangs around like a bad fart. I did one in the garage and my wife could still smell it in the house the next morning. Of course, I was wrist-deep into him at the time so I couldn't really smell it when I went back inside...but her face told me :) Now I have a separate hook and gambrel outside just for them.
Sent some hawbakers and misigaaq(bearded seal oil) this morning. Sent it express so hopefully it'll be there In week. The seal oil I sent is probably fresher then what you had it's the good edible stuff we love to eat. I'd love you see you try a teaspoon with a dash of salt. Maybe dip some moosemeat into it. You want it to stink more keep it in warm spot for a long time and it'll age more.
Hahaha when you said why your laughing thought he is gonna say “ I got some cat piss here” 😂 Ben is a man of little words we love camera man Ben! He is the king of dodging branches in the north!
It sure feels good to see you at it Andrew i love watching you work and give me all kinds of tips. I thank you a lot for all the videos you put out cuz nothing beats watching your videos when i get home from hunting or snaring hares. Keep at it buddy!
Love this video. !!! BREAKING BAD WILD NORTH STYLE !!!!!! LOL. Not one time have i ever been disappointed in a video. You are the angus young of trapping!!! You rock brother . Be safe and tight chains my ftiend . Mad respect from Maine
Hi, I am an Arctic Alaska trapper and have been trapping for sixty years, forty five of them in Alaska, Since I was a kid I have used Hawbaker's lures and still do when I can get them. To my knowledge they were first made by Stanley Hawbaker. I smile when I hear you call them "HawBrakers lures." Check the spelling on your lure bottle. I am over 70 now and I suppose I could be wrong. but check the bottle and see what you think. I enjoy your videos, especially since you've cut back on the F word. Have a productive season. Arctic Circle Dave
Happy New year Andrew 🎉 2 fine video's in one morning cheers, gr8 to see the river finally frozen and the east line open 😀 best of luck for the beavers.
LOL :) :) you making that bottle of mix and then adding the last bottle and giving er a sniff the noise you made had me smiling and replaying it over and over again thanks, keep the videos coming eh :)
To smell lue it is sometimes best to open the lure bottle and stir the scent towards your nose with your hand. To stir the little bottles of lure, use a nail held so that the head of the nail it at the bottom of the lure bottle. Lifting the nail gets the ingredients off yhe bottom. Thanks for the video.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I once took a snort of fox piss that way. I gagged and had tears running down my cheeks. I always said that if I ever woke up with a hangover so bad I wanted to off myself, I would take a snort of that to clear the bad thoughts, because once you snort it you can think of nothing else but survival. I used to put it on my boots when hunting. Can't bring the boots indoors, tho. I gotta tell ya, I was rolling on the floor when your head snapped back. Shame about the martens being thin this year. Same with rabbits. Sometimes there are cycles like that, especially with rabbits. Good and better luck, Bud.
Meanwhile 2000km to the southwest, I'm watching your vids after pulling my creekside otter and mink sets because the rain has blown out the creeks. I've got a few coyote snares out but nothing's moving around when it's this wet. +7degC and raining...again. Good day to bottle up the fish trim bait that's been brewing on the windowsill: I'll bet mine smells worse than yours :)
Andrew, Andrew , Andrew why oh why did you do this ???? Reminds me of the time I took Buckley's cough medicine for the first time ,lol , or the time my Uncle said come here and smell this... the rest is up to your imagination ;)
friend ran out of lure...put together some sardines and bacon fat and garlic salt and some melted vasoline...the smell was bad but the first trap check got him a couple of martins...he's like a mad scientist, going to use vapor rub and what ever he can get out of a deli dumpster....
Andrew if you keep messing in the trapping shack with special mixtures you’re liable to lure a cross between a Wolverine a beaver and Bigfoot with a 24 inch tallywacker that chases you down and shows you his trapping method while sitting in your cabin drinking a beer watch old episodes of your show
I know on my line cold weather mid winter ain't catching marten they seem to hibernate kinda catch most of them in November beginning of dec then hardly any until feb
Maybe one of your American friends can pick up some hawbreakers lynx lure and mail it to you? You think it'll get there faster than ordering from fur harvesters. I'll keep an eye open for some.
It looks like that mink castor took you to a whole new level there Andrew! I can only imagine how rank that was huh bud!? haha Hope you got some good prices for the cats and marten. What did they give Ben for that wolf.....just curious.
Did I understand you correctly Andrew? Hawbakers is not making lynx lure any more, or they aren’t making any of their lures these days? I looked at a couple of local places and on line , and I still see Wildcat No. 1 and Wildcat No. 2 available down here in the US. Let me know specifically which lure you are looking for and I’ll do some digging around for you. Cheers! Whipple
@@TheWildNorth OK. If you can post a good shot of the label in your video, I’ll see what I can find for you, too. Hate to see you trying to make your own lure if you can get a proven recipe form Hawbaker’s that is already prepared. Watching you gag in that video almost had me and my boy gagging, too! LOL Cheers! Whipple

Wassup WildNorth. We going hunting no doubt. Dr. funkenstein. Take out a bear for us.
Anxious to see how that lure works out
Ahh the B-814, also known as 100% real Wolf Glands. Maybe get another sniff in there eh? Haha
When you trap beaver and flesh them out, save the fat and render it down, it gives you a nice oil for lure bases.
Hey man love the vids keep up the good work !
Great video! Can’t wait til the next one ,keep them coming !
B 184. Whatever it is, I think it's the only stuff I've ever seen make you gag. Lol. Must be mighty powerful stuff eh? Hahaha.
I know on my line cold weather mid winter ain't catching marten they seem to hibernate kinda catch most of them in November beginning of dec then hardly any until feb
I like your cooking videos

Almost no snowshoe hare tracks in interior Alaska as well.
Here in Northern Alberta there is not too much rabbit tracks this year
Can you even find a six pack anymore? All 8 packs in the prairies. Thanks A.
Happy new year!!
After the sale, let us know what you got for all that hard work. Appreciate it.
Laughed my ass off after you smelled that!
Don’t drink it ! Lol 😂
Was the funniest thing you did lol
Andrew just watched both of the video you posted, FANTASTIC great videos, keep the coming.Have you had any luck on wolverine this year..👍
Andrew why don't you put some catnip oil in there too?
B 814 I think is wolf gland.
Merry Christmas happy new year's
Andrew have you ever tried using cod liver oil or shellfish oil as a base or extender for your lure making?
Two in one day...yes
A couple of ozs of skunk quill oil would call for a very long way. Wolverine would probably come to it willingly.
👍
Dirty ol gatorade bottle of goodnes lol
Do you ever use power rams with your snares?
Could ya give us an idea on how your fur prices were Andrew?
6:03 for those who don’t know, yes weasel gland is that bad, comparable to skunk🤮
It looks like that mink castor took you to a whole new level there Andrew! I can only imagine how rank that was huh bud!? haha Hope you got some good prices for the cats and marten. What did they give Ben for that wolf.....just curious.
Have you ever tried seal fat or meat, as lure and bait?
Did I understand you correctly Andrew? Hawbakers is not making lynx lure any more, or they aren’t making any of their lures these days?
