I love that there’s a male and female version, so then we get Hailstorm and Pyrite singing about the things they missed. Honestly, Hailstorm has a pretty sad life. He doesn’t know what he wants anymore or who he is, he doesn’t know if he wants to stay as an ice wing anymore and can never really be happy, as now he’s questioning himself with every decision he makes. Poor guy. But great map! Everyone did great and this might be one of my fav maps now!
Tbh in my opinion he would be happier as pyrite but maybe like with ruby he still has some icewing memories. He could keep his old friends without them knowing and have his brother as well
Hailstorm got a taste of what it was like to live a happy life that wasn't overruled by the desire to be respected. As Pyrite, he had a carefree time to just be happy, not worried about a perfect status for anyone watching. He got to experience the gift of not being an IceWing. And now that he's back in his original life with his old memories, he has no choice but to leave that happy carefree life behind, and serve his duties as an IceWing inside his life-draining tribe. You never know how bad you have it until you experience the better life for yourself. May the IceWings let go of their pride and allow themselves to live happier lives by end of The Dangerous Gift. That is my wish for them.
This turned out absolutely STUNNING, the intro and epilouge makes it feel like a genuine movie. All of the partcipants had such gorgeous parts, I'm so proud to have been apart of this and to have gotten to work with you all!

I kinda feel bad for Hailstorm. He didn’t WANT to be Hailstorm anymore after he took off the necklace. Winter kinda just forced him into it. Hailstorm liked his life as Pyrite.
Okay but imagine you grow up being loved and looked after by the leader of your whole nation, given a necklace to symbolize the fact she looks after you like her own daughter. You have friends, you know you are loved and couldn't be more happy with your life. But your queen asks you to help save her after she is dethroned in a traitorous coup. To help her through this, you attack an enemy, who takes off your necklace that She gave you, and you remember. You remember that you aren't from that nation. You aren't her *Son*, in any way. Those happy memories are all false ones, and the one who took that necklace off of you is someone you know. You know him. You care about him. You don't want to remember the past childhood, true childhood, where you were almost always alone and grew up with few friends. But remembering the fake memories also hurts, because the Queen that did this to you was never your friend. She turned you against your own nation and family. (So then why does staying where you really grew up hurt so much. It's not like you can go back. The necklaces magic- you shouldn't even want to go back. Why was being in the arms of the enemy better than your home?)
And that's what I love about the concept of a "Mask Enchantment", the stories and dramas that can come from characters discovering they've lived two entirely different lives, and having to choose which one you'd rather be.
@@intothewoodsatdark i havent watched tpn in awhile but basically its an orphanage and the children are fed to demons, and there is a caretaker (mother) who has to feed the children to the demons. Basically the children find out and see her as an enemy. She does care for the children but she has to feed them to demons or they ALL die. The children escape the orphanage, seeing their own mother as an enemy. And we see a flashback of mother"s life and learn that she was one of the orphans. And her and her friend sung that song called isabellas lullaby and its really sad, her friend was fed to the demons and she knew too much so she was made to be a caretaker
All of the animators did a wonderful job, the end product is stunning. Everything about this MAP is just gorgeous, from the sets to the concept to the animation. The thumbnail was so fun to create and I’m honored to have had mine chosen aaaa

This map is GORGEOUS, and I'm really in love with the expansion of Hailstorm's character, especially considering how jarring an experience it must've been to live as 2 different people and not remember.
The beginning is creative! This is so gorgeous!!!! It expresses all the emotions that hailstorm and pyrite had, and how hailstorm felt when he was freed. Wow, this is amazing and all the animators did perfectly.

Been meaning to watch it for a couple weeks now, but I only now remembered Pyrite and Hailstorm have such an interesting character, it would have been interesting to see what he'd have done with the necklace after he found out the truth, and whether he'd ever put it back on again for anything

This is amazing!!! I kept seeing the parts separately and couldn't begin to imagine how well it would come together! I'm stunned that you added a prologue AND epilogue, that's just so rare in MAPs. This character isn't spoken of enough and the concept you came up with is amazing, and with the animators putting all their heart in it it just came out so beautiful. Such a great job done!!

To be fair I think hail storm doesn't mind being hail storm I think he loved both of his lives as pyrite and hailstorm but he did get a glimpse and what it was like to live a better happier life as a skywing but I still think he wouldn't trade being his true self for anything but he's probably conflicted in which one he preferred more who knows where this path will take him but I can't wait to see and so much more
Regardless of the situation, this song will always have such eminence feeling behind it. The song is a beautiful masterpiece and it fits perfectly with this.

I just had a random theory (or well it would be more like an AU as there is like no way this is cannon) what if Pyrite used to be her own dragon and she died while she was still really young and when Chameleon made the enchantment her soul kinda like latched onto it so he wasn’t making an entirely now dragon he kinda just wrote out something and it fit the description of one who already died so the dragon who died just kinda became that enchantment so that could be a cool idea on its own but what if Pyrite was scarlets daughter (maybe even her first one maybe she was like Ruby at one point and then somehow the dragonet died and then from grief or something she became evil or maybe she just murdered her out of fear) and so that’s why she basically worshiped Scarlet sorry if this isn’t explained well
Wow, I love this! It's really like my OC, which I inspired off the hailstorm and pyrite thing. Princess Lagoon is an animus Sea Wing who looks like a female Albatross. She's frequently bullied for it, and one day it got out of hand. The bullies shoved a thin brass necklace with a diamond in the middle on her. It turned her into Garnet, the pink fireless Sky Wing. She thought she was a poor Sky Wing who fought in the arena. She was close to the royals though, and lived a happy life. She would always wonder what the kingdom of the sea was like. But one day a huge thunderstorm raged across the kingdom of the sky. She couldn't handle the booming of the thunder and the pouring of the rain. She soon tumbled down and passed out. On the coast of the kingdom of the sea, she woke up to find a few dragons watching her. Her snout was tied up with seaweed. One dragon stepped up to her. They wore a white mask with soulless black eyes and a black smile. It looked like a purple sea wing. Another dragon tried to grab her necklace, but she killed them with her extremely sharp claws. The masked dragon ripped off her necklace as she was catching her breath and checking herself for wounds. She turned back into Lagoon, and began to cry. And the masked dragon was her also animus sister, Seaglass. When she tried to put the necklace back on, her sister melted it to be almost irreversible. But now what the rest don't know is she is slowly unmelting it in the icy waters of the ice kingdom, hidden in a small crevice beside the ice palace when she has to leave.

This is amazing!!! I kept seeing the parts separately and couldn't begin to imagine how well it would come together! I'm stunned that you added a prologue AND epilogue, that's just so rare in MAPs. This character isn't spoken of enough and the concept you came up with is amazing, and with the animators putting all their heart in it it just came out so beautiful. Such a great job done!!

To be fair I think hail storm doesn't mind being hail storm I think he loved both of his lives as pyrite and hailstorm but he did get a glimpse and what it was like to live a better happier life as a skywing but I still think he wouldn't trade being his true self for anything but he's probably conflicted in which one he preferred more who knows where this path will take him but I can't wait to see and so much more

I just had a random theory (or well it would be more like an AU as there is like no way this is cannon) what if Pyrite used to be her own dragon and she died while she was still really young and when Chameleon made the enchantment her soul kinda like latched onto it so he wasn’t making an entirely now dragon he kinda just wrote out something and it fit the description of one who already died so the dragon who died just kinda became that enchantment so that could be a cool idea on its own but what if Pyrite was scarlets daughter (maybe even her first one maybe she was like Ruby at one point and then somehow the dragonet died and then from grief or something she became evil or maybe she just murdered her out of fear) and so that’s why she basically worshiped Scarlet sorry if this isn’t explained well

Wow, I love this! It's really like my OC, which I inspired off the hailstorm and pyrite thing. Princess Lagoon is an animus Sea Wing who looks like a female Albatross. She's frequently bullied for it, and one day it got out of hand. The bullies shoved a thin brass necklace with a diamond in the middle on her. It turned her into Garnet, the pink fireless Sky Wing. She thought she was a poor Sky Wing who fought in the arena. She was close to the royals though, and lived a happy life. She would always wonder what the kingdom of the sea was like. But one day a huge thunderstorm raged across the kingdom of the sky. She couldn't handle the booming of the thunder and the pouring of the rain. She soon tumbled down and passed out. On the coast of the kingdom of the sea, she woke up to find a few dragons watching her. Her snout was tied up with seaweed. One dragon stepped up to her. They wore a white mask with soulless black eyes and a black smile. It looked like a purple sea wing. Another dragon tried to grab her necklace, but she killed them with her extremely sharp claws. The masked dragon ripped off her necklace as she was catching her breath and checking herself for wounds. She turned back into Lagoon, and began to cry. And the masked dragon was her also animus sister, Seaglass. When she tried to put the necklace back on, her sister melted it to be almost irreversible. But now what the rest don't know is she is slowly unmelting it in the icy waters of the ice kingdom, hidden in a small crevice beside the ice palace when she has to leave.
