Oh, that's so freaking cool! Saddening, but cool. The idea that it's a LeafWing at the heart of the homes using leafspeak is such a neat take, and I like that Sundew thought to stop Luna from killing the dragon who'd kept her company (even if she couldn't acknowledge her) :D

What if Rainwings were actually fighters when they first appear. They have been able to live peacefully in the rainforest due to the fact they killed any dragon that went there. They put up a front of weak and lazy to other dragons when in reality that’s a way they protect their home. They simply are to wait the war out.
Fun fact! Rainwings actually used to be assassins! In the guide to Wings of Fire Book, there’s a letter addressed the rainwing queen from her aunt who is outraged by the peace treaties and the shutting down of the assassin training program. So they were a threat at one point but gave it up. The changing of the rainwing queens was based on why should they kill their strongest leaders every time so that’s why they had the contests! Sorry if this isn’t what ya meant

I'm gonna be honest. I much prefer this to the original. Just in this small part, I feel nearly every character got something to do that was meaningful. Where as in the original arc 3, one of the characters couldn't make a single meaningful decision in their own entire book. Im looking at you blue (Although its been a bit since I read it So maybe thats not entirly true). Here his personality is all there but he's also active with his choices. Also the first book being cricket in this scenario is perfect. It gives a different perspective to the segregation in the hives as she didn't see the mistreatment of the leaf wings at first but will slowly see it. Instead of it being "roll, your eyes obvious" of what the story is about. This little tid bit of a bigger story got me more invested than nearly the entire 3rd arc. Not that I'm a 3rd arc hater, I had a good time with it, I just think it could've been written better.
You should do an AU where Glory and Darkstalker (plus their tribes) switch places. Like, 2000 years ago an animus SkyWing (just to add a bit of irony) fell in love with a RainWing and had two hybrid dragonets, Glory and whats-his-face. Glory is the Darkstalker in this AU, with her falling in love with Deathbringer, a NightWing assassin on the run from his tribe due to the Queen trying to use his powers of foresight to manipulate the ongoing SkyWing-RainWing war to her favor. Listener is replaced by Kinkajou in this, maybe it can be Tsunami or Turtle instead of Fathom, etc. Glory turns evil, gets imprisoned, the RainWings flee to the volcanic island and become mysterious assassins able to spit venom and turn invisible (strange, though, that they only ever seem to be in various shades of gray - but surely that’s where they got their name from, right? Because of that rain-gray color?). Obviously because of chronic sun starvation the modern RainWings can’t do any of that because of the damage from the volcano or whatever. Tamarin, the blind RainWing dragonet at Jade academy, grows up ridiculed by her tribe - but it wasn’t her fault that her mother had hidden her egg in the rocky canyons of the NightWing kingdom, and it wasn’t her fault that she had been able to bask in the sun and eat fruit for her entire life. It wasn’t her fault that despite her blindness, she could turn colors she couldn’t even see, or spit venom from fangs that couldn’t aim. She came to Jade Mountain Academy to avoid her peers, to learn to keep a blank gray appearance (easier said than done when one can’t even see what color they are) and maybe make some friends. But she keeps having dreams about this strange green-blue and orange RainWing who keeps trying to talk to her, saying that they were both ‘Sunbound’ by an animus magic she created long ago to connect the RainWing tribe together, to make them stronger (to Tamarin, that sounded a lot like mind control, but whatever). Idk where it might go next, but that’s my idea 👀
I love this. I want to explain how I see how this alternate version of the story goes. There are powerful Leafwings that are kept hidden away in the trees to power them, while the rest are kept as a back up in case something happens to the leafwing powering the tree or for breeding to create more leaf speaking Leafwings. When young leaf-speaking Leafwings are young, they are tested by the Hivewings to see how powerful their leaf speak truly is (kind of like how the metamorphosis thing for the Silkwings was on display so they could see if they turned out to be a Flamesilk), if their leafspeak is nothing really remarkable, they are just given a job fixing the tree's wounds. But if a powerful leafspeaker is found, they are captured, fed the breath of evil, and forced to power the tree (or be kept prisoner like I said earlier). Sundew was a child of a captive leafspeaker and she had a normalish dragonethood. She one day met Hazel (or whatever Leafwing got the silkwings to help save Sundew in Cyprus' story. I forgot who exactly), and they became best friends. But on the day the test came, Sundew was found to be a very powerful leaf speaker and was taken away and put into one of the trees. Hazel (I'm just going to refer to the other Leafwing as Hazel), desperate to find her friend left her hive and accidentally discovered the Silkwings, Luna and Swordtail wanted to kill Hazel to make sure they were never discovered, but when Hazel revealed that Sundews powers could cripple the Hivewings trees (Just like how the Leafwings in book 11 really only helped Cricket, Swordtail, and Blue because they wanted help to get the Book of Clearsight. A tactical advantage against the Hivewings.) Luna, Swordtail and Blue agreed to help Hazel get Sundew back. And after a bit of work (I didn't know what to put in between this and them finding Sundew so I didn't put anything here.), they found Sundew and Cricket and the events that Cyrpus talked about happened. I hope that in Cyprus' version of the story, that Blue and Cricket still end up falling in love.
I just got back to watching this series and I forgot how much I loved it, with the Hvitur and Asha one being my absolute favorite. I kinda have a little idea that might sound stupid, but I wanted to recommend it anyway. What if Queen Scarlet wasn't evil and ruthless? I feel like a story for that could be interesting and it would also be interesting to see how she would react with other characters like Kestrel and the dragonets of destiny as well.
That was an great what if. It made a lot of sense. I feel like this might have been a good alternative option for the books. This was written amazingly. Keep going

If I made the ending I would’ve had Cricket walk towards the group and then the silkwings would hide leaving the leafwing and Cricket would ask if she can keep a secret from the hivewings and then bring her to sundew and then the leafwing would trust her and tell her their secret.🎉

Glory turns evil, gets imprisoned, the RainWings flee to the volcanic island and become mysterious assassins able to spit venom and turn invisible (strange, though, that they only ever seem to be in various shades of gray - but surely that’s where they got their name from, right? Because of that rain-gray color?). Obviously because of chronic sun starvation the modern RainWings can’t do any of that because of the damage from the volcano or whatever.
Tamarin, the blind RainWing dragonet at Jade academy, grows up ridiculed by her tribe - but it wasn’t her fault that her mother had hidden her egg in the rocky canyons of the NightWing kingdom, and it wasn’t her fault that she had been able to bask in the sun and eat fruit for her entire life. It wasn’t her fault that despite her blindness, she could turn colors she couldn’t even see, or spit venom from fangs that couldn’t aim. She came to Jade Mountain Academy to avoid her peers, to learn to keep a blank gray appearance (easier said than done when one can’t even see what color they are) and maybe make some friends. But she keeps having dreams about this strange green-blue and orange RainWing who keeps trying to talk to her, saying that they were both ‘Sunbound’ by an animus magic she created long ago to connect the RainWing tribe together, to make them stronger (to Tamarin, that sounded a lot like mind control, but whatever).

I love this. I want to explain how I see how this alternate version of the story goes. There are powerful Leafwings that are kept hidden away in the trees to power them, while the rest are kept as a back up in case something happens to the leafwing powering the tree or for breeding to create more leaf speaking Leafwings. When young leaf-speaking Leafwings are young, they are tested by the Hivewings to see how powerful their leaf speak truly is (kind of like how the metamorphosis thing for the Silkwings was on display so they could see if they turned out to be a Flamesilk), if their leafspeak is nothing really remarkable, they are just given a job fixing the tree's wounds. But if a powerful leafspeaker is found, they are captured, fed the breath of evil, and forced to power the tree (or be kept prisoner like I said earlier). Sundew was a child of a captive leafspeaker and she had a normalish dragonethood. She one day met Hazel (or whatever Leafwing got the silkwings to help save Sundew in Cyprus' story. I forgot who exactly), and they became best friends. But on the day the test came, Sundew was found to be a very powerful leaf speaker and was taken away and put into one of the trees. Hazel (I'm just going to refer to the other Leafwing as Hazel), desperate to find her friend left her hive and accidentally discovered the Silkwings, Luna and Swordtail wanted to kill Hazel to make sure they were never discovered, but when Hazel revealed that Sundews powers could cripple the Hivewings trees (Just like how the Leafwings in book 11 really only helped Cricket, Swordtail, and Blue because they wanted help to get the Book of Clearsight. A tactical advantage against the Hivewings.) Luna, Swordtail and Blue agreed to help Hazel get Sundew back. And after a bit of work (I didn't know what to put in between this and them finding Sundew so I didn't put anything here.), they found Sundew and Cricket and the events that Cyrpus talked about happened.
I hope that in Cyprus' version of the story, that Blue and Cricket still end up falling in love.

I just got back to watching this series and I forgot how much I loved it, with the Hvitur and Asha one being my absolute favorite.
I kinda have a little idea that might sound stupid, but I wanted to recommend it anyway. What if Queen Scarlet wasn't evil and ruthless? I feel like a story for that could be interesting and it would also be interesting to see how she would react with other characters like Kestrel and the dragonets of destiny as well.

If I made the ending I would’ve had Cricket walk towards the group and then the silkwings would hide leaving the leafwing and Cricket would ask if she can keep a secret from the hivewings and then bring her to sundew and then the leafwing would trust her and tell her their secret.🎉
