After nearly 2 years of making, Millhaven is done and I couldn't possibly be happier with the final outcome! The participants did a truly incredible job with their parts and it's thanks to them that this idea of mine could have been brought to life. I am also really thankful for all the recognition this MAP has gotten over all those months and for all the support I myself have gotten regarding it - it still feels like a dream come true ♥
We can all now finally sit back and watch the finished project, enjoy!

I honestly love when songs get more progressively aggressive with all emotions running through the singers voice. It really does fit Mapleshade, sounding sweet with her kits then as the story goes on she progressively loses her mind. Amazing
Yeah like when she talks the softest when shes with crooked kit and it does sound quite kind and welcoming showing how good mapleshade is at manipulation and hiding her true intentions from others.

I absolutely agree! Like, it starts out really calm but it really gets emotional or violent at the end, I immediately love it.
I realized that when she says “You do not know the day nor the hour-” she’s talking about when you die. And it begins with her saying that only God knows when you will die, and ends with her knowing too. Implying both that she is god, and then she controls when you die (because she’s the killer.)
Idk how I never put that together, that helps it make a lot more sense tbh

I really appreciate the color pallet this MAP has, it's like...Sickly and putrid and corpsy but like in the most effective and appealing way possible, it sets the whole atmosphere and I genuinely can't listen to this song without imagining this color pallet anymore
Yes, I was inspired by the animation to the polish version of the song (linked in the description) and I’m really glad you like the vibe it gives off:)
I have honk one of the reasons is the lyrics “Millhaven is a small and colorless town”
And the og animation is practically this but what the song describes and with a blonde girl with an eight head 💀
I am polish and I remember hearing this song over 10 years ago. When I saw some parts from this map on youtube, I got really excited to see the finished result for this project...and I am not disappointed! The overall mood and colors are gorgous and they fit the dark tone of the story. Good job everyone!

Ok this is the creepiest map I've ever seen, not only do the animations fit super well, but the lyrics are haunting.

In the Warriors wiki Vicky says that he truly did love Mapleshade and his kits, so from that I'd believe he really did feel bad imo

AGHHH THIS WAS SO AWESOME! The animators did so great and I love how it gets progressively more creepy.
I can't wait for when the subtitles will be added, I'll definitely rewatch it with them on. The original story of the song generally fits so great with mapleshade.

ok so i fell asleep in the living room last night and woke up to this map playing on the tv because my sister loves warrior cats right... and usually horror stuff doesn't freak my out but waking up to this in the dark was genuinely unnerving. so good job everyone lol
When it goes from: “Only god knows them” to “Only I know them.” It’s like a moment of ominous dread.
You can imagine my joy when I saw the finished Swiftpaw and Brightheart MAP by Splashdreamms today, but to see THIS right afterwards?!?

im polish and this map is a literal masterpiece! songs in other languages aren’t very common among maps, especially from smaller, lesser known countries! but other that that, i simply ADORE the eery tone of this, and how it all slowly builds up from calm and ‘normal’ to angsty and insane. overall, im so happy youtube recommended this to me! :D
This song make's me think at the end mapleshade admit's she didn't kill those cats because her kits wanted them dead but because SHE wanted them dead, fantastic map !!
It wasn’t her kits, the Dark Forest was calling out, and Mapleshade thought it was her kits.
FINALLY a mapleshade map that doesn't victimize her.

2:25 At this moment is where the fun starts and it’s also an secret foreshadowing on the craziness of Loretta and that she is the curse.
It’s easily understood to how she uses words “But the body was never found” mostly linking that she was able to hide it well.
I still remember when parts were still first coming out for this one, i'm really joyful to see it completed at long last. Props to everyone that participated, the emotion in this one is absolutely flawless.
I don’t know if it’s the gradual aggression rising in the voice, or the tone, or the vocalization, or the fact that i can’t understand it without lyrics. But this song scares me to an unexplainable degree.
Tolkien when creating language of orks and goblins was inspired by Slavic languages. These have more emotional inteligence than English coz in these you can express if you perceive emotions as a part of you or identifies with them.
For instance in English you cannot say "I angered myself at him" it is incorrect grammar but in Polish you can. Identifying with emotions means lack of control over them.

This map was just..Awesome. The song playing really fit mapleshade, just slowly loosing her mind. good job!

Ok but first off, the polish version of the song fits this map so well :D I really like how Loretta in this sounds more and more angry after being discovered as she sort of believes she was only doing God's wishes, like Mapleshade seems more and more angry as the book goes as she believes she's doing the best for her dead kits!
Also I adore the grayish color palette with all the browns and yellows, it really fits the tone of the song too!
The map in general looks wonderful and was well worth the wait! ^^ Everyone did a fantastic job in making their parts fit the mood of the map overall, great job everyone involved :)
Isn't it strange how Mapleshade was pretty much the only cat who got in trouble for having mates and kits from another clan 🤔

My eyes were glued to the screen the entire time holy shit. This is by far the best map I have seen.

Such a creeping and gradually increasing chilling atmosphere!!! I was at the premiere and could feel the chills from everything gradually getting darker and darker... All participants and most importantly host, SUCH AN AMAZING JOB!!
Coming back to this my appreciation is still endless.
The song choice is just so PERFECT for mapleshade omg-
So many ppl neglect the fact she was a religious zealot who justified all her actions in the name of Starclan. IMO religious zealotry in villains is one of the scariest things you can do
Thank u all the participants for capturing how truly dangerous Maple as a person really is by showing her duality and blatant manipulation
During the whole song, when she says "nie znasz dnia ani godziny, tylko Bóg je zna" (translate to: "you don't know the hour or the day, only God knows them"), in the end, since the four Clans and StarClan have more or less forgotten her, she says "nie znasz dnia ani godziny, znam je tylko ja" (translate to: "you don't know the hour or the day, only I know them"). Since the clans forgot her, her murders' hour and days are only known by her.
AHHH!!!!! This is so beautiful, it perfectly illustrates Mapleshade’s bitterness as FESTERING, which is what it was, rightful bitterness, a type that festered. It really shows her as sorrow and mistreated but doesn’t excuse what she’s done by showing her as some kind of wretched playwright. With her deep raspy voice, and dark eyes, the music + atmosphere + visuals all tying that together, showing how gruesome her crimes were.
What a beautiful and haunting map. I love it!!
Edit: her voice going softer around her kits + crookedpaw was a really nice touch.

I love how the art subtly changes throughout the video to match the tone of the singer's voice. It's a really good detail and I think we should see more like it in the future. And the fact that all the art styles were perfect for the verse and line is still sending me 👏😭 You all did fantastic! Especially Brook on the thumbnail ^^ If you're reading this I adore your art and I love how you made Mapleshade kind of crawl out of the shadows. Well done everybody, keep up the great work

I have been waiting to see this map finished for months and omg y'all did so amazing! Everyone's art was absolutely stunning and the timing was fantastic! I also really enjoyed how clear the storyline was and how well everything matched with the actual story of Mapleshade. Just, all in all, really well done!

I love the way this fits together! It’s amazing.
I'm so glad to finally see this MAP finished! As soon as I saw HarvestBrook's entry (that's where I first heard of the MAP) and heard the song, I just couldn't wait to see it in it's complete glory. I like that we got it so close to Halloween (it's currently not Halloween where I'm at). The participants did a fantastic job bringing this idea to life. And I love a good murder story with a creepy (for lack of better words) song to go with it. Music from foreign languages can be really cool to listen to. I like the grim atmosphere too.
The part in the credits of aditional art did remind me that I should probably redraw the fanart I did for this MAP a while ago. Looks weird when I look at it now, haha (mine would be the one with 'MelancholyBee48' underneath it). But I'm glad you seemed to like it, garevka :)
