Making A Street Pop Art Collage

This time I went for recycling some street posters paper instead of my usual magazine paper.
Also, I recycled my previous collage artwork Dali artwork.

Very cool. I wonder if it’s possible in the future to add captions? I have ADHD/audio processing difficulties. It would be more accessible to me & possibly others, to read and hear what creators are saying.

Super-cool process, and the final looks amazing. I like how you combine analog techniques and digital tools for a truly unique piece. Do wrinkles settle down when it dries, or do you consider them part of the charm? I always stress, but there doesn't seem to be any way to avoid them. Thanks for letting us see how you create!
Yeah, no way to avoid them. They do become smaller when it dries and some even disappear. Thank you for your appreciation!
Super Cool. I don't have Photoshop, so I may need to try another program to do the collage. Get idea of getting paper from the streets to create your collage. I should try that ;-) Thank you for sharing.

Beautiful work! How do you ensure that the print colours match exactly with the original work?
Thank you! Actually I don't 😊. Some minor difference will not impact the final result :). However a good white balance set on the camera will ensure a pretty close match.

Wonderfully creative. Does the finished product fade over time?
no, they do not. I use a UV protection varnish. I am not sure if they will last for 100 years but my 10 years old collages still look very good. they did not fade 😀

Hi, Ovidiu! I was so excited to find you and your extraordinary work! Quick question, how do you know what size to make your printouts so that the faces you use aren't too small for your canvas? LOL I always struggle with getting printouts of my digital work too small to collage on the canvas I'm using--they're never in proportion! I appreciate any advice you can lend and thank you again for being so generous in sharing your process! Truly grateful!
So glad you like my art. 🙏 I first create a file in Photoshop the size of the canvas. Then I scale the photo I took to this size and overly it and save it as pdf. Print it with page scaling: none. And that's it 😀

Ok i have what probably is areally dumb question.... if i cant find posters like you do around my town what can I do to get a similar outcome ?
Well, i usually use Elle magazine. You should be able to find really easy depending on where you are from. But any fashion magazine should do it. Just be creative with what you find. I sometimes can't do it til the end. I just don't upload my mistakes :))

Hi there if you want to sell a mixed media piece is it legal? Coz you are using someones else face?
It really depends on a lot of things. It is a highly complex issue. Only a lawyer can answer this for each piece of art. You can check the story of *Barack Obama "Hope" poster* by Shepard Fairey for a similar issue.

I will check it cos etsy and shopify are full of mixed media asrtisrs prints of their work like dain nyc and i was wondering or all of these major brands even on bi like dior using the classic converse style as his in their new collection etc… or these sculptures with mouse like ears style like minnie etc but they are ugly in a way lol
What are you using to glue the newspaper to the canvas ?
I used Décopatch - Aqua Pro Exterior Varnish - UV & Water Resistant, Suitable for Outdoor & Exterior Use - Porvides a Protective Coating

Not sure I understand the questions
If you're talking about copyright you need to check the law and the copyright terms of the picture you use. Also you need to take care of the way you use your art - for practice? For selling? For comercial use? And so on
@@ovidiu.solcan omggg i started a s a hobby because i was selling on etsy etc art journals and mixed media and i saw artista using art deco inspired people james dean ols cinema people etc and collages… then some people ask me to do them some pieces i didnt to art school or something but i like it so much
