The internet is a brilliant invention. I can explore the world from my couch. I can learn a language, expand my horizons, learn, and grow as a human being... I'm watching a porcupine eat pumpkin.
@@GuantanamoBayBarbie2 I listened to a wild porcupine make the same exact sounds while munching on some corn we put out for the turkeys. It was amazing!
I gather from looking at his other videos that he's atypical because he was found abandoned at 2 days old and hand-reared - he's never met another porcupine so doesn't know how he's supposed to behave. He's used to hearing humans vocalising to each other so he joins in. According to various zoo websites, porcupines do vocalise, particularly during the breeding season, but I think Teddy Bear is far more vocal than most.
@Sharron Clark exactly, You know what if the situation was reversed how would those evil people feel! My Family thank God found a little black kitten near a church and cemetery where someone dumped her We took her in and she is so loveable and will talk to you well meowing and vocalizing she didn't deserve to be dumped....
Elisha Cooper most people show animals love. You mostly hear about the mental nuts that treat them badly. Do worry about those bad people . There is a hell for people like that. Just enjoy these videos
Ok I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks that, I didnt hear it in this one but there's another one of him eating mini pumpkins and I swear he says it
I agree with MeMiri O: animals that I have been associated with (pets, barnyard) definitely understand our tone and body language, possibly better than we sometimes do, and of course domesticated pets learn the meaning of words as we use them -- sometimes better than we want them to. I have had a couple dogs who knew enough that I had to even use alternate spellings of some key words to keep them out of the conversation, words like "ride", "walk", "outside", etc. One even learned to pee on command, which was a GREAT convenience to me! :-)
I thought Teddy knew what it was before he started eating because he sounded like it was one of his favourite foods. Then he keeps saying yum, yum, num etc until he thinks the person who gave it to him wants it back and he says, go away, this is mine now, go find your own. Very Politely...., and with gestures to indicate he means what he says, just in case his "porcupine" is not understood!!!
How very interesting and entertaining. Having an african grey parrot with a vocabulary of 600 + words. It makes me wonder if Teddy is not really in a limited way doing his best to verbally communicate. Nature is more surprising than many people give it credit for or believe.
00:45 "How good is it?" "Good! Goooooooood!" "This is what Teddy does with leftover holiday pumpkins" "Good!! Hmm...hmmm... Good, good! Oh yeah, yeah...! Like it!!"
I come back to these Teddy videos whenever I need a total escape...gives me an idiot smile. So, so cute! You don't need the words to know much of what he is saying, just the way you can understand a lot of what pre-verbal babies are "saying" in the last few months before they say actual words.
"Alright...you gave me this and I obviously like it so- STOP...get aw-....getdaphuckawayfromme!!!" - *Teddy Bear, The (slightly aggravated)Talking Porcupine*
Teddy is amazing. I just learned that these critters are vocal about a month ago. Are we sure that they really are animals and not aliens from another culture. The dude can sure express itself. I find he and his kind special. Who knew?
Oh my. How can something so adorably vocal and conversative in the cutest way I've ever heard in an animal, have so un- cuddly pricks for an exterior in the same time
"Yes, Yaah, Hey, Yaahh", Well, Is that good? "Yeaahhh." How good is it? Great. This is what Teddy does with leftover holiday pumpkins. Yes! Good GOOOD. I'm watching a porcupine eat pumpkin.
TenebraeVision Dude watch him eat corn, too!
true
🤣😂😂
Too funny
Lol
Learning doesn’t release as much serotonin as entertainment.
He’s so cute. I wish I could cuddle him without getting stabbed.
Jared Stevens 😂
Lol thats what I thought...I want to give him kisses but I am thinking my lips would be full of holes.
Jared....Stabbed or Bit!!!! But cute it is....
My thoughts on most women 😂😭😭
😆
Omg his little noises are more than I can handle. They are overly adorable!!!!
He is sooo cute i never would have thought that he would chatter like that such sweetness
Ironically, he's basically yelling expletives for her to go away in Porcupines. Its threat vocalization to say "this food is mine, back off".
The gods must have attempted to punish a little human by putting his soul into a porcupine. Except it wasn't a punishment.
Him telling her its mine and stay sounds cute
I want Teddy talking as my ringtone and voicemail announcement, damnit.
One day I tell ya! One day soon.
He’s really cool, I didn’t know porcupines were so cute
They’re also a bit stinky. 😜
Because you probably didn't have a good child hood .Sad.:(
I know, but if you try to pet him you will be stuck with a handful of quills!

Yes you can, his caretaker, she does!!!!!
@@facesbysusanna SHE does, you or me cannot because zoos don't let patrons touch or pet the animals.

I never would have believed that porcupines make that sound. That has to be the most human sounding animal ever O_O
Goats also
MoonLiteWolf talking rodent lol
Who do you know that makes those sounds?
There is an animal what makes even a better closer human sound than this animal
yea but i don't think you want to cuddle with them like dog or a cat.
He sounds like Gizmo 😂 I love how she gives it to him and then he's like, "Hands off, Lady! Teddy doesn't share food!"
Yes!!!!! LOL!!! It's like he's saying I love you and thanks for the pumpkin but don't mess with me now LOL
Gizmo Duck?
Teddy don't text.
@@lisaschuster9187 No, THE Gizmo... the cute little maguai from the Gremlins.
YESSS so cute :3
That's not a porcupine. Listen to him; Teddy is an Ewok.
That's hilarious.
If he'd had said "yub yub" that would have been cool
Baby ewok lol lol
No he is a minion he does the voice of the minions 🤣😂
@@sicksneaks so porcupines are a much less obnoxious alternative to the Minions, got that.
I heard him say, "back off" in plain English 4 times.
Lawrence Grott, I heard Stop It! 😄
I literally heard “well, lets see here...”
He’s speaking Ukrainian though.
@@lisaschuster9187 lol!💖
I'm going to watch again just for that, but even the first time I definitely heard at the end: "Yeah, I love it."
With all the talking he does I would never be bored.
This pumping give him a lot to talk about. 🎃
Omg the sounds he makes are just the cutest!!! He’s so sassy and adorable!😍😭
He sounds like tv show “Adam Family’s” strange cousin, IT.
I was going to say the same.
Omg!!!! Your right. Does sound like It lol
It is Cousin IT after he visited the barber.... 😉😂
"Addams Family"
Also, Cousin ITT, with two Ts.
@Beautiful Rose MUNSTERS
So glad to see Teddy looks loved and well cared for. Listening to his darling chattering, is pure joy.
Who knew porcupines were so vocal… he’s like an anime character.
I wonder if the intense vocal range helps keep predators away as well? Along with their quills of course.
I wonder if he's vocal because he was raised by her and she talked to him? Maybe it's not common among wild porcupines.
I'm so curious about it!
...or anime characters & Ewoks are like porcupines?
I'm sure he was trying to sound terrifying trying to protect his pumpkin but instead just comes across as adorable.

Cuter than cute. Love the noises Teddy makes.
That’s him saying he will rip you open and eat your insides.
But he bristles when he thinks she'll take the pumpkin away; a real prickly personality.
Doesn't seem like he wants to share his punkin much.
I heard him say MINE! when he jumped on it lol!
In a way it sounds like he says back off also.
No kidding 🤣
Oh my goodness he's speaking his own little language. How adorable!
I swear I can hear him saying.....get back...several times.
Same here...I thought I was just imagining it lol

He gets all prickly when he thinks his food is going to be taken away from him.
I thought he was going to smack her with some quills.
I wonder if they are like Parrots???
At the end he says "yeah" when she asks what does he think it's Good Pumpkin?? .
