I'm going to ride from NC to Key West in October then do the East to West ride some time after that. Im 35 years old and hadn't really thought about doing these long trips seriously until several months ago it hit me like a brick wall. Now it's all I want to do. I daydream about going all the time
It's interesting, as someone from California, to learn that it is in fact legal to ride bike on certain highways. For example, the 74 makes sense because there isn't too much traffic but riding on the 10 makes nervous lol

As someone who lives in tornado alley, whenever a tornado hits, it’s not really like a movie where it rips your house out of the ground. The occasional tree falls down and your roof loses tiling. Once I was jogging when a tornado hit, was worried but the thing just made everything windy and rainy passed by me and I was good lol.
Really good documentary dude! Really good motivation. Want to do something like this someday. Would be so cool, alone, out there in the United States making a journey from coast to coast damnn

Nice video, I like these kinds of travel adventures! On living in 'dangerous by nature' places, maybe it is all kind of relative: A Dutch colleague of mine while visiting a relative in the California earthquake region wondered : aren't you afraid living on the edge of two tectonic plates, waiting for an earthquake? His relative answered: You are living in a Dutch polder 6.6 meters below sea level, aren't you afraid ? Fact is that both families ancestors have been living like that, making it 'business as usual'. On the traffic part (dangerous things), I realise more and more how blessed we are with the Dutch cycling infrastructure
Im from africa and you know how it is over there with crazy roads🥶 i would ask my neighbors to go wash the bike or work for them so I could ride it😂 it was very fun My uncle used to go to work with a bike about 4 miles as a security guard i would walk there and ride the bike in a soccer field😘😍 I think I would do the same one day. Every one reading this i hope your family and friends are doing well 🙏🏽🙏🏽
That is really dangerous ans scary to drive on these highway s, this is totally not alowed and possible here in Holland., you really have risked your life,., but as you said there are no other roads with asfalt, great video !!.
I would have carried over 6L of water. Also, for heat, discover powdered gatorade. Picking the absolute hottest time of the year places a premium on acclimatizing to the heat. Meaning, be out in it, exercising gently, plenty of water and salty food available, light colored cotton shirt, wide hat.
cool movie! I have a question (obviously, because I am all about the food): what do you eat and how many calories a day should you take while touring USA?
hmm don't count calories while riding it's easier to burn them off especially when carrying gear :) I normally eat museli, anything peanut butter can go on and peanut butter too... Canned food. Done :)
Great film, I really enjoyed watching it. Thank you for making it :) That's a strange rule about having to leave your bike to get a permit at the park. Why?
somebody gave him bogus information , I live in Arizona and I travel I-40 all the time, and when I ride my Cannondale , they let me ride up to the ranger station and park it in front of the windows
Thanks for your reply, I'm in my early 50s and planing a cross country tour, I don't even like driving a car anymore because i don't find it relaxing or fulfilling, i was considering a motorcycle tour but the same thing i think- gas, insurance, licence etc etc, a good tour bike seems the answer, have you ever been stopped and checked out or asked for ID during your travels, just wondering if police leave bicyclists alone?
His fear of tornado alley was hilarious. I've been cross country twice and live in tornado alley. The chances of being hit by tornado while cycling is like winning the lotto.
I'm loving this so far everything you doing the ride and everything great shots... But I kind of don't know what to think about your speech about people having Insurance in tornado "if you can afford it you can replace your house and stuff" well, there's more to it than just your house. people's lives are taken during these times, tornadoes are serious no matter how much money you have or insurance you cannot replace the loved one that's lost in the tornado so I don't know how to respond to your assumption about having money when a tornado hits your house!?!? Other than that great video I hope you enjoyed your ride and welcome to America! One more thing love the shot of the flag!
Well I suppose I don't understand why so many people settle in a place with such a violent weather pattern that's all. If you can afford to build a house with a bunker and necessary reinforcement then it's manageable but if you build a match stick house and expect it to hold up in a storm, best to think again. Thanks for the feedback also.
