What Is Happiness?

- Most of us ask ourselves:“how to find happiness?” or “what is happiness?” as if happiness is the ultimate goal. It might be. But do you want to be happy forever?
But do you want to be happy forever?
Would you still be happy after - let’s say - 40000 years of living a pain-free pleasure-filled life?
You might not. In this video, we talk about the most cliched thing ever - happiness. And no, we won’t show you what true happiness is, or how to find happiness.
Let me know what you think.

This is really about immortality not being desirable, and not the idea of constant happiness during our limited lives not being desirable. I was expecting the latter, which sounds a lot more interesting to me.
What I think when I say endless happiness is not just stuff that causes happiness, but instead happiness. No matter what you do, no matter how much you do it, you would feel happy.
*me, who broke in the video as you say this* HEEEEEEY! YOU CAN'T DO THAT 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

The final season of The Good Place touches this idea very well, I highly recommend that show to everyone
you oversimplify things and I am loving it. I seek of happiness and your video made sense. you change me from now on.
This smells like the trope, "Death gives life meaning," which is just a coping mechanism we've invented to deal with the current reality that we're all headed feet-first toward the future. Contrasting a short life span with a 400 billion-year life that promises only boredom... I want to live that 400 billion-year life! During that time, I'm certain that I will be able to discover new vistas to explore. That I will not be limited by my, or your, current imaginings of what the future can hold.
Yeah that's true. If you enjoy yourself now why wouldn't you be able to enjoy yourself forever. Immortality has been seen as a very bad thing lately, but I mean if you enjoy life you won't ever get bored
When discussing immortality and someone counters with "imagine losing your loved ones over and over again", I say: Don't we mortal people already go through multiple heartbreaks in our lifetimes? If someone can move on from losing family or a partner once, i'm sure they can do so again.
If life is suffering anyways, might as well witness ALL that life has to offer.
@@MetroidJr1220I think one should also consider if one is the only mortal or if there are other people one could relate to...
Only if you lose the humanity in you
@@josephvillaceran493 Pray tell, can you define "humanity," and what will be lost?
The last season of The Good Place is exactly that, and si amazing.
That being said, I was expecting a video about a constant state of happines while being alive. This was more an analysis if someone would want to live forever. The idea of constant happiness is that we would never get bored of doing anything like the video suggests or, even if we did, we wouldn't mind because we would always be feeling good about everything.
Cats and existenialism go together well.

Maybe eternity is too long but I could do with a couple of thousand years ... Ive a LOT of knitting to get through.
I love your videos love your style your messages are very deep and give great stories and concepts to ponder (though I do feel like you missed the mark a little with this message I still don’t blame you. immortality is a complicated subject that everyone has different opinions on, but of course we do! it’s something nobody has experienced and everyone has a different image of what it looks like just as you said in the video)
The video was absolutely stylish as always
Keep doing what you’re doing you give people something to enjoy and learn from truly a gem on this platform. Love you ❤️❤️
I am glad I found this channel. Having happiness or I know everything is like makes me bored.
I think the argument of death giving life meaning is so so so dumb. The only time I am ever paralyzed and can't figure out what to do is when I think about my inevitable death: "Ohh I am interested in this curriculum because a, but if I had the time I would do b first, but then I wouldn't have money in time to start a family" and so forth.
Death is only ever a limitation, we are not motivated by death, we are motivated by life and all the things we ponder and explore.
I just want to thank you for creating this video, I can learn English through your video. I hope you can do more.
"Happly ever after" is something what is trully imposible
"So you're saying that even if you had anything you want, you wouldn't be happy?"
"Yes"
"And so you think that we need our lives to end someday?"
"Yes"
"So if you wouldn't be able to die from natural causes, what would you do?"
"Uhmmmm..."
Yeah maybe you should go to therapy or something
Deadlines make timelines interesting. I liked my own comment.
True happiness is living in the present moment
So wasting my time getting into street fights and drinking myself and smoking and vaping myself to death and get cancer and that's how I'm happy, good to know
Wow this is amazing
I wonder how do you make this videos
Are you a team or
Independent person ??
tom going on the stairway to heaven reference lol
welp turns out it wasn't the only reference lmao
Just Purrrrrfect
Great
Am I the only one seeing some Wes Anderson influence at 1:29?
0:39 from Tom and Jerry!!!!!
Wow 😳
Sure, your physical self dies but if your soul is immortal does the concept still stand? This immortal concept may be why reincarnation is in this "perfect" idealism. Repeat a mortal existence until you find meaning and importance in spirituality. If higher dimensions are anything like my lucid dreams then eternity is acceptable.
i feel like it would be hell no never feel pain or sadness
Perhaps our caveman ancestors also thought that 100 year cycle of hunting cooking eating and sleeping is boring to death.
Just want to add some of my personal views on this topic. I, personally, don't like the concept of eternity by itself i prefer the concept of infinity.
For example you can't watch all the future movies because time is infinite and so are the future and future movies because you aren't the only one immortal.
When infinite comes in contact with finite, finite becomes zero.
I think your situation is infinite time met finite possiblies. Yeah you will quickly run out of options and become really bored. Though even here there is a way through forgetting. By the time you are watching millionth video there is no trace left from the first. So you will watch it thinking of it as a one million first.
But in our world possiblies is directly proportional to the amount of time so with infinite time you get infinite possibilities of change. And you can't get bored infinitely trying new. (You can even change physics of the world, though destroying the universe in the process).
I, personally, want infinite possibilities (through infinite power) but without eternity I won't be able to try them all.
I don’t need a reason or purpose to live
no.
I want problems! Always.
okay
Everyone answer this-What is heaven for you?
P.S:Include every single details and try be as specefic or precise as possible.

Every Christian ever like wow you totally just debunked my religion totally.
What was debunked exactly
@@Alright281 nothing I was being sarcastic
you cant rebirth?
Nah. Sorry I just disagree. You don't need an end to bring meaning. Or if you need it so desperately it becomes your meaning, you'd have infinite time to find a way to die or end the universe if you were truly in a permanent, happy immortal state. Life isn't about finding the beauty or beholding it, life isn't about finding anything, life always was and always will be about creating yourself. And you can do that infinitely over an infinite amount of time, even if you exhausted all options of creating yourself in new ways you could then go on a quest on creating new ways of creating new ways to embark on an even larger infinity. People romanticising death like this are just missing that by a huge margin. That being said, this assumes a perfect "heaven" like magic hocus pocus BS. If you were to be immortal stuck in our decrepit universe, I could not image a worse level of torture than that, unless you find a way out, but then you'd not be truly "stuck".
humans are just not made for eternity
No shit
