  • Welcome to the best budget drift build. The vehicle is a 323i BMW E46 with and M52 engine.
In this one I hit track at Queensland Raceway Morning session. It was my first time getting a feel for the beema. Skids were done, lessons were learned, and fun was had.

The best part of a project car is getting out and having fun with it. 😎

Thanks mate. 🙏 means a lot to me. Weld the diff, good seat and suspension and start shredding. 💨🚗☘️ hopefully you document it as well.

    Fair shout mate!
I tipped over £1500 into my car to skid prep it. Aside from coilovers & lock all the money went on an uprated cooling system, solid drive train mounts & subframe reinforcement. Looks standard but it built to be mechanically indestructible.
Might 3.0 swap it one day.

Not bad at all for a begginer! Pretty good🥳I bought a e46 318 touring 2 weeks ago. 117hp. Been drifting in the rain and I'm surprised that i haven't spun over even once yet. First time drifting for almost 10 years IRL. Easy to handle and cheap to drive. Next time i will choose a bigger engine 😂 A simulator really helps to improve driving skills and muscle memory 😉

if you can drift a 318i, you can drift anything. you'll be awesome. Hope my vids keep you inspired. 🤙

@@BertusBuilds Well sadly it's hard when it is dry. The car is low but springs are soft. A welded Diff and coilovers would make it easyer in the dry. And improve the handling overall. I will start with the cnc71 steering angle adapter. Soon we will have snow so i won't need to do any upgrades until next year 😄

Get a beater sn95 mustang and an angle kit and you’ll be set or rwd swap a b5-B7 Audi A4 qauttro my Audi has no angle mods and has stupid steering angle factory

Hey Bertus, been stoked watching your e46 drift build. I’ve got an 02 320i e46 drift car here in Melbourne, black like yours too. Couldn’t help notice you weren’t able to get much angle without spinning out. A drift angle kit will make all the difference, you might have installed one already but yeah just thought I’d add my 2 cents in case it helps. You’re an inspiration bro, keep sending it!

Thanks so much Shandy 🙏. I have not installed one yet. It is on the menu, I just wanted to see what it was like in its current state. I have a few loose ends to tie up then extra angle and hbrake will be going in. What else have you done? What diff are you running?

@@BertusBuilds Couldn't be happier you posted a track video, been watching your build vids heaps as I'm a couple months into mine and stoked to finally see her shred. Saw at the end you said you didn't have an angle kit installed, my bad. Really appreciate you capturing and posting your progress. So far an SS Motorsport angle kit, HSD Monopro Coilovers, Z performance wheels sitting staggered on 19x9.5 rear & 19x8.5 front, Likewise shifter, Sparco seats, Hold Fast steering wheel, Wilwood h brake and Quaife LSD kit. Motor is completely stock, still heaps to do to get it set up. Have learnt a lot from your videos so thank you bro, have an awesome day

@@BertusBuilds this comment weren't meant for you mate, I think you done a good job. Just an angle kit won't help you get better on seat time will. Thanks that Convertible was 5 years ago got a 500bhp 335i manual and a e46 325i drift car , that's why i was watching your videos

Practice I's all it takes. 2nd attempt was much better. Just need to keep that power down and do more steering with your foot then the steering wheel

Thank you. I definitely need more seat time. No more mods till I learn to handle it in its current state. 👍

I just got a 323i and have been trying to see if its gonna be powerful enough to drift. IT has the m52TUb25? - If so, with a shorter dif maybe is it enough to carry on with my project? (e46 not 36)

    • @BertusBuilds
      @BertusBuilds  Год назад

It will be fine even without a short diff. If I build the balls to do faster entries in this car, once the wheels get turning Its seems great.

Got a 323i too mate. Was thinking the same but Ive weld the oe one, learnt the car like that.
Now I’m better and want more power ill get the shorter diff & a remap as “stage 2” it’ll be a huge jump in performance for £200-300
