Amazing. Classical music at the end was a perfect choice. The journey can be both the creative process making the page and that the page itself looked a bit like a map with the blackened crackle as mountain ranges.
Very cool journal cover! I was cleaning in my craft room today and found 2 bags of napkins purchased several years ago just for art. Looked up some videos and now i remember that I liked this. Your work is always inspiring! Thanks for sharing.
A friend just suggested I watch one of your videos. I'm hooked. I have been hinge watching them. Wish there was a love button instead of just like. I absolutely love this. Can't wait to try it!!!
I could not believe how beautiful this turned out, at a few points I thought I didn't like it! I said to myself I would never combine the pattern or colors. But I loved the colored glitter, something I have avoided (thought it could get tacky) . Thank you for opening my eyes to all of this!!!!
Thank you for this video. I wanted to try art journaling, but I am not really an artist. I have watched several videos about it and read some blogs. Your video was most helpful because you didn't simply slap some paint or goop here and there and say, "now isn't that nice?" But you said what you looked to achieve by using that item. I tend to buy art things thst I don't know how to use. I am thankful that you have explained some things. I look forward to future videos
I love the texture; looks like snake skin. The black border really framed it beautifully. I'm excited to try it on my next project. Great job. Thanks for the inspiration.
This is one of the nicest crackle jobs I have seen. I like that you didn't stain the whole thing. I am now inspired to use crackle because I know I can fill in cracks I choose not too stain. Thank you for the sharing your project. 🙂
I have watched a ton of Journal videos and Journal background videos, and I must say that this one is honestly hands down my favorite! This is absolutely stunning!
Great ideas. I didn't know how the effect of the crackle paste would turn out. So happy you showed the detail. And yes, it did resemble snake skin. This will be one of the many details/textures i an willing to try in my art journal. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much Amber, I really really enjoyed watching you create this amazing and stunning piece. It looks like the map of Africa? I really really love ❤️ it and everything about it is absolutely gorgeous and an inspiration too. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags ❤❤😊
Loved the page. I am now heading off to my craft room to dig out my eggshell crackle that I have never used and I know just the napkin to try it with. Thanks for the inspiration!
I have used crackle paint and vintage photo ink before in my art journal, but I will have to try adding a layer of matte over the top to seal the cracks. I learned a lot from this video. Thanks for sharing, Amber! ❤️
I never would have imagined saying this but I have got to get met some 'black soot'; I didn't think this was going to work until you flipped the page. love it.
love the way this came together. love the snake skin look to it. I think both the lace and without the lace looked good. I have a tendency to add too much, so may have gone with the lace. Great page.
Hi there, Yes, I'm excited about everything in this video. I ordered some crackle paste from your link. I had some crackle craft stuff that never seemed to work, but from the look of the stuff you used (thick), it will work properly and well. Yay, I can't wait. I'm in the midst of a big move, but I would like to join your facebook group when I'm settled. It sounds like such a lovely supportive group to be a part of. When I saw your page in the beginning of the video, I thought it was a journal cover. It certainly could be! So I think when I get my crackle medium I will do just that, cover one of the 3 journals I'm painting in now that don't have a cover yet. I love your page if you didn't get that already, lol. I also love how you do some of your pages on a separate piece of paper and then attach it to a journal page when done. On another link of yours I ordered a black notebook, and some 5X7 strathmore watercolor paper (25 pages) so I can do that. I've been thinking of doing that, yet didn't get to it till I saw your videos recently. I love how you stain the crackle areas then seal them. Pretty much every step was exciting to watch and the result: dyno-mite!! Jane
Jane, thank you SO much for using my links! I spend a ton of time compiling my link lists! 🙃 I look forward to you joining the group and sharing your work! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love finding new videos! Sometimes all my supplies go into a blur and I forget the great results they can create given the right application. I love my Pitt markers but I had forgotten how well they do edge highlights. And I hardly know what to do with my few Distress crayons but here you remind me that they can do a bold grungy edge in a flash. Thanks so much!
❤ I always shy away from my spiral journals... I either don't touch them or take them apart with the intention of putting them back together .. HA right! Like the idea of separate paper glued in!!
I love the distress crackle with the distress stain over it . . . definitely looked snake skin like, but ultimately it was just an all around gorgeous page!
Love the way this turned out. I have used napkins, but I've never used the crackle paint. I really like the way that looked and I may have to get some and give it a try. You're right, it did look a bit like snake skin.
I havent gotten clear crackle medium cuz i can only find gloss..which i hate. Never thought about putting matt medium over to cut down the glare. Terrific idea!!! And i love the page
I've tried using napkins, but I've never had any luck with them in my journals. They've come out ok on cards, so maybe I need to give it mother shot. I've also never tried the distress crackle paint. I need to pick some up! Great video!
Oh yes! I love the way this looks and have enough of the supplies to give it a whirl. Your really surprised me with the stamping at the end. After seeing you do it, I used my black soot crayon as a border and *LOL* made a hot mess :) AND I've started doing my journal pages outside my journal after being super inspired by your and it is a brilliant idea! THANK YOU!
I am definately kicking myself for deleting the Candy Rock off my last order... I will get some next time though, as I loved the effect of the stain in the cracks. Wonderful job as always! Thanks for continuing to share with us.
this is BEAUTIFUL, LOVE LOVE LOVE . I want to try it all, I wish I had all the supplies. I have been too afraid to try crackle paste, but I think it's time! thanks for the motivation!
Love this page! I'm glad to know that you didn't know where you were going with it! That's the fun part. I like to scrunch up the napkins into a little ball and actually put them down all bumpy and with interesting texture. Thanks for your inspiring videos.
I love everything about this!!! I have some napkins and I LOVE the idea of the musical paper with it. My napkins have birds on them, so I am definitely going to give this a try! I love your videos!
I definitely plan to try the crackle effect with a napkin for a journal page. I like how you pushed the colors of the napkin to the background also. I am learning so much for all your videos. TFS
Your art is amazing! I have wanted to play with the wet stuff for a long time, but never have seen it demonstrated start to finish like this. This is such a great video, and I subscribed before you were even finished! I will look for more of your videos. Thank you for doing this.
I am so impressed by this lovely, lovely work of art... I am so blessed to have such creative people as you sharing your talents, tips, and ideas with me and the world. You have made my quiet moments a little brighter and inspired. Thank you! Blessings to you! :)
Flipping the page made all the difference. Beautiful
Amazing. Classical music at the end was a perfect choice. The journey can be both the creative process making the page and that the page itself looked a bit like a map with the blackened crackle as mountain ranges.
Thank you!!! ❤️
This takes Napkin Art to a whole new level
Thanks, Brenda!
Wow the black border really popped everything up at the end. Beautiful page.
I think so too! Thanks for watching, Cathy!
I love that your projects use just a few products. Simple but oh so beautiful.
So glad you like them!!! 💜
Very cool journal cover! I was cleaning in my craft room today and found 2 bags of napkins purchased several years ago just for art. Looked up some videos and now i remember that I liked this. Your work is always inspiring! Thanks for sharing.
I love crackle which is what attracted me to watch. I got so much more than crackle!! thank you.
A friend just suggested I watch one of your videos. I'm hooked. I have been hinge watching them. Wish there was a love button instead of just like. I absolutely love this. Can't wait to try it!!!

I LIKED THE EFFECT FROM THE CLEAR CRACKLE PAINT, THIS CAME OUT NICE, I LOVE THE COLORS....TFS
I could not believe how beautiful this turned out, at a few points I thought I didn't like it! I said to myself I would never combine the pattern or colors. But I loved the colored glitter, something I have avoided (thought it could get tacky) . Thank you for opening my eyes to all of this!!!!
I was kind of worried about it until the end too! lol Thanks for watching! 💜
excited to try the crackle paint with the colour over top
Came out pretty awesome. that black soot crayon really gave it depth. Cool!

Now I'll have to add crakle paint to my supplies. Beautiful work.

Looks almost 3 dimensional! Love it.
Great video ! Now I have something to do with paper napkins. Just need to buy the crackle now ! Thank you !!
Never bought the crackle paint because I don't like the shine. But putting matte medium on it solves that. Love it!
Love the crackle effect!!
