Don't you have the crime of infanticide where the mother kills her child within the first twelve months of its life through suffering from post-natal depression? They are temporarily mentally disturbed. It's called "baby blues". It establishes a partial defence to murder. They are not responsible for their actions. Of course, this condition must be proved beyond reasonable doubt in order for it to mitigate the sentence. I hope to God that none of your daughters, wives, sisters etc develop PND. I agree with the mandatory sterilization of people having any convictions against them regarding children.
We have a sex offender registry that was initially set up because of a child sex predator and murderer. Now people are on that list for minor offenses: peeing public, consensual sex in cars etc. Children are on there for playing doctor with other children.
Allowing the government to decide who gets sterilized WILL be abused. No matter how good an idea you think it is, just imagine the power in the hands of someone who is lazy, corrupt or stupid.

I was wondering about post pardom depression or psychosis? It does happen . And I do personally feel life in prison is to harsh. I've spoken to plenty of mothers who have had wrong thoughts or thinking after having a child. And the problem is instead of helping each other or supporting the mother women are often demonized or told they knew exactly what they were doing . No not always the case . I think people need to wake up . Theres unfortunately not enough help in this area . And again each case is different. She clearly needs a lot of help . Thats just my opinion anyhow .
Poor baby may have cried his little heart out for help and there was no one to help him. It was freezing cold, so that baby suffered an agonizing death during his short hours of life.😢😭

I was a little over a year old. My mom was going to drop me off a bridge but too many boats. My heart was in my throat. Mr. Fabulous drowned me the summer after second grade. The neighbor got me away. Trust me, this kid's better off. It was life in the murder house. No life at all.

After spending what? less than 4 months with him? I bet they are going to miss him a lot. That's not the problem here. The problem is that she had babies when she wasn't even capable of taking care *herself* . The other three of her kids - I feel bad for them not because their baby brother died, but because they had a mother who neglected them and unfortunately never had and won't be having the financial and emotional support that they deserve.
My youngest son is 25 and thinking back when he was a baby makes me sad to think that people do horrific things like this to innocent precious babies, as much as I love all my kids and wanted to protect them more than anything when they were babies. That poor poor baby to be born to a pathetic person like that. His only hours or days on earth were brutal and horrific. Hes a precious little angel now as he was before he died.
Give the baby to me! I don't understand this. I am BLESSED to have 1 little boy but have always wanted more and an unable to carry again - adoption is my only choice. This makes me so damn mad.
There are safe haven laws. Up to 72 hours and you can leave your baby at a hospital, police or fire station without questions.

U got that right! It's part of how the world works. If u want anything u better b able to pay & pay & pay. If u go b4 the courts w/o an attorney or w a legal aid lawyer they see u as one of the undesireables. If u haven't managed to learn enough that u understand that $ makes the gears move then u r a disposable. They don't care abt u or ur future. I honestly believe that ppl shackled by poverty r invisible to the police the judges etc. There r just too many of us & bc of that the problem is overwhelming. To protect themselves they allow a film of sorts to close over their eyes that just keeps them from seeing us. It's become so prevalent that I believe that's why u hear so much about police brutality, police murdering ppl, jails & prisons for profit & judges being bribed to make sure these places stay full. The ppl in this world have lost their humanity. The issues r overwhelming & too many have just given up. It's true u can't fix all the problems but u can do something to be of help in ur small corner of the universe. Kindness doesn't cost u anything so maybe start there

This just made me cry. I don't understand people. I have a beautiful 5 year old and am 8 months pregnant and I just love my baby so much already. How can people be so cruel. There are so many options and alternatives if you don't want your baby. There are many loving and caring families who would love to adopt. Why do people like her just leave them to die.

I've always wanted to adopt children ever since I was a little boy. I'm a grown man now... if a mother doesn't want her baby, then put him or her up for adoption. I guarantee someone will come and will take in the baby as one of their own. I know I would... this case broke me...

It's not easy to get sterilized. I begged from the time I was 18. At age 33 I finally found a doctor who was retiring in two weeks and leaving the country to agree. If it weren't for him they would tell me the same thing they told me for 15 years "you will change your mind".
Or how about if you don't want the responsibility of a baby, don't have sex. Just plain and simple. Nobody died from abstinence.
