I just love how they didn't put a bunch of makeup on her, she doesn't have her arms covered with gloves, no huge jewelry. She's the definition of perfection. Its no wonder he fell in love with her.
; jinsoulie they really did. Everything from the curls in her hair, the subtle crown formed with the braid, the way the dress flows as she dances, the color of it just gives her skin such a porcelain glow to it. She's perfection!
This was indeed one of the few live action Disney adaptations that got it right and it was well made. Everyone, perfectly cast. Lily James was on point. You couldn't find a better live action Cinderella. Like she was made for that part. I agree, that this song would've fit in perfectly in the movie. If it had been put in there the way this video shows. It would've been like a nod to the original animated classic. Video was amazing...bravo!!!
I know this movie is already a few years old but just recently watched it for first... and now I can KEEP WATCHING over and over ❤ the cast is perfect (can I say I like this live action even more then the original?) This is what real love looks like. Happy I watched this movie and will keep doing
I saw this and thought they actually did this song in this film. It made me want to go and watch it. No, reading the comments, I see this was NOT in this film. So sad. Amazing editing my friend. I hope you are doing this for a living, because you are gifted. 😊
This actually could've been promising, the tempo might be different but the pace was nice. Such as at 2:03 when they look into the eyes of each other as Cinderella and the Prince sing "love".
Duy Truong it is a Shame! No songs can replace So This is Love ! I prefer the Dream the Of old school Disney used to share with us ! 2 D with amazing sounds and the power of the imagination! Kids needs to continue to Dream
Where can I find this version of this song?!? Please let me know asap. Also THANK YOU for this! Beautiful Amazing...the song and dance are so captivating together.
Mix videos oh okay. I personally would not have liked the original songs to be in it at all. As much as I love Cinderella the animation, I would have hated it with the music
Several versions of the dress were made, and one was made for dancing. Also lots of rehearsals. In addition, they’re both period drama actors, so they work a lot with period clothing to know how to maneuver in and with them.
I rewatched this after I already have some knowledge about historical European and western clothing and I can't help but be concerned for her figure and upper physique and the news about her back then. They couldn't alter the dress cut to fit her and didn't find a well fitting corset FOR her and the actress had to went on a liquid diet just to fit the dresses. Why was there complications with the making of the dress? Was the dress fitting late? or they were trying to have her waist THAT small? istg tight lacing was an unhealthy trend and only some people did it back then
I think the questions you have implies something else. As someone who also makes historical European clothing and have an idea how Sandy Powell works via friends who work in the film costuming industry, my guess/answers is this: 1. There is no complications in making the dress. Your question implies that there were complications, when there was not. 2. There is no dress fitting that was late because the dresses had to be made well in advance. There’s also video footage of costume tests and runs before they were completed, meaning Lily had fit into them just fine. Which leads to this: the measurements taken of Lily to make the dress was obviously skin tight then seeing that they had fit her just fine. But of course for any costume maker, making something skin tight and no stretch is unreasonable because the human body changes daily/weekly. Which means Lily probably had to maintain a liquid diet to stay the same size she was at the initial measurements and fitting. She couldn’t gain muscle or fat cause it means she would exceed that skin tight measurement. As for tightlacing. I think we all know Lily was tightlaced into a corset, but the film and costuming in no way was saying “people tightlaced back then!” The only people who have made tightlacing a big deal in the most unrealistic historical ways, of lately, was Emma Watson and Bridgerton The information is “Lily James was tightlaced to fit into her costume” and not “Lily James was tightlaced because people did it back then.” I also have the pleasure of observing one of the gowns, as several copies were made for multiple purposes (walking, running, running down stairs, spinning, dancing, etc). And I also had conversations with the archive teams that handles the dresses. There were no complications in making the dresses. They were made as they are, perfectly to Lily’s measurements. So the only issue that should be seen is “Sandy… why did you make the dress so skin tight to her body. Like damn Sandy! Lily couldn’t change her body for it”
It’s a different film and not meant to be a copy and paste of the animated. So the color doesn’t even matter. But if you look at the dress in person, it’s very much light blue- silver like in the animation (I’ve seen it in person). The film version is VERY much edited because this cerulean shade stands out among the gold-brown backdrops. You can see the light blue - silver when she spins
Fun fact: the original concept art for 1950 Cinderella had her hair down. In fact Cinderella from her concept art looks A LOT like this one. Also if her hair was in a bun for this dress, it would have looked really weird. Certain hairstyles only fits certain silhouettes and looks.
Really? I wouldn’t say this movie is RUINED. I think the final product is beautiful. Patrick Doyle’s music is absolutely divine. The orchestral track, set, choreography, and costumes compliment each other very well. “So This is Love” would not have worked; it’s too 50’s
@@CafeDeDuy for sure, I was just being a little dramatic lol. Beautiful movie, disappointed they missed the song but we always have the original Disney cinderella to enjoy also

I absolutely adore it, apparently it has so many tule layers. (I think it's tule I'm not entirely sure), there's a video about the dress out there.
her waist is SNATCHED
What does that mean?
@Hollis Bush whats a cup?
Well she’s wearing a corset
Found a bit of trivia that said the actress has a naturally small waist
She had to wear a corset and she even said she couldn't breath so I guess beauty is pain lol
that guy is so strong...he can lift her up with all of those skirt layers...
What about the strength of the girl though, she had to dance and twirl in them ;p
Celestia S imagine her
Most of the layers were made out of tulle so it was light fir both of them
@Vivian Kravet ikr I would feel so pretty even though I'm not

This is historical ❤️ and the fact Disney respect the song put at the beginning.. it’s just a piece of « chef d’œuvre » 👏 bravo
Loved this song! And the other one that was meant for the scenes in the original. 😀
The dress is stunning! 💙
Funny because that dress wasn’t even that shade of blue. They have a digitally edited the color for the final version of the movie,
THE KING IN THE NORTH!!!!
Why So This Is Love wasn't in 2015 version?
Because the film takes a more realistic, romanticism approach to the story. “So This is Love,” a 50s esque song wouldn’t make sense to the scenario.
