Agreed, although soccer is a reference to Association Football (asoccer) and was the most common usage in the UK (where the modern sport was created and standardised) until the 1950s. So it's not as wrong as we like to make out
Sad fact about Charlton: They will never have a full capacity after PC Keith Palmer died in the London terror attack in 2017 in the early part of the year. The club decided that his seat would not be sold to anyone and never will. CAFC. Also may I add with the Newport picture that some grounds are also used for rugby as well as football
A lot of these teams like Sunderland have been in the top flight of English football for decades over the last 120 years. Don't forget that there was professional football for 100 years before the Premier League was formed. Clubs go up and down the leagues but keep the same stadium. Also a big change in the 1980s when many stadiums had their capacity reduced by Government policy to combat hooliganism and following a run of tragedies at stadiums involving big loss of life. Many of the clubs have built new stadiums since the 1980s, all seater & modern facilities but they usually have much lower capacities than the club's old stadium
Exactly, ipswich is a good example of that. They were top teir league champions on the first attempt in the league 1961/62 and have won both the FA Cup in 1977/78 and uefa cup in 1980/81. Also beating real Madrid, ac Milan, inter Milan and Barcelona. Now look where ipswich are... In the 3rd tier struggling.
@@The.Conqueeftador As a Gillingham fan I find League 1 mad. The last few games I went to before lockdown were 18,000 at Ipswich, an 11k sellout at Gills in the cup, and 30k at Sunderland. You’re guaranteed a sellout at Portsmouth. But you’ll also have barely 1,000 fans at one or two other grounds. I’ve been to a sellout Elland Road and Ricoh, near 30k at Man City’s old stadium too, for League 1 fixtures, let alone the old Wembley for a play-off final which sold out in 3 days.

Bolton fan here, back in our Premier League days we'd pack out the stadium. A bad run of owners and mistreated finances later and we're now down in league 2 and struggling to even compete for promotion, and fans don't really want to watch League 2 football. Hopefully one day we reach our heights again. Fun fact: Cristiano Ronaldo's premier league debut for Manchester United was against Bolton Wanderers. :)
Bolton have spent over 70 seasons in the flight of English. Shame where we are now but we have been here before so I'm sure we can get back to where we belong again
Coventry would fill out their ground every single game if they didn’t have their current owners in place (and actually played at the Ricoh as opposed to Birmingham’s St Andrews)
Wembley holds 90k but you’re right, isn’t on this list as it isn’t owned or played in by any club team - just the national side. Hope you’re enjoying the English game my man.
Coventry don't have a stadium atm. They're ground sharing with Birmingham City. So when they play Coventry away, they're technically still playing at home.
As soon as you called out the betting companies being the stadium name, you gained a sub. Great video, your knowledge of English football is impressive. Also your mind will melt when you realise Bolton are now struggling in League 2 with a 28k stadium 😂
This is the first time i've heard an American who really knows his stuff when it comes to Football, knows the small details like Brentford getting a new stadium, plus the pronunciations on places and teams was really admirable! Thoroughly enjoyed this video! :D
Can see Elland Road from my house! Also most of us support only one club, but if it’s a low tier club that will realistically never see top flight then you can route for a prem club, but only ever support one
Liverpool’s owners have applied for planning permission for an expansion which would bring Anfield up to around 60,000 seats. That would put it 3rd or 4th on the list with virtually the same capacity as the Emirates
You have a very vast knowledge of English football teams and their respective football stadiums. I'm English, 30 years old and support Newcastle United... yet i feel like you have a greater knowledge of the league than i do
Why surprised at the size of Blackburn’s stadium? Small town with a big history, won the Prem in 95, the stadium was built around that period. I think they are 10/11th most successful team in English history. Founder members of the Football League and the Premier League.
They were in decline throughout the 60's and 70's dropping into Division 3 in the early 70's (which wasn't as common as PL teams dropping into the 3rd tier is today) , It was their away support (along with other fades giants in the 70's like Sheffield Wednesday/Crystal Palace or Wolves and Burnley in the 80's) that reminded people they were still clubs of substance even though their home gates were only 5 to 7000. Taking 1000 or more to away games back then wasn't common -Sheffield Wednesday were particularly impressive taking over 3500 to Reading in 1976 as they hadn't won away for 2 years. Blackburn were pretty dismal in 73 but still took around 1000 to away games. To give an idea-other clubs in Division 3 in the 70's took around 20 or none at all !! When success came Blackburn and the other faded giants home gates shot up. History = potential, though the PL has taken away the romance of the game.
I'm going to subscribe, for three reasons: 1) your pronunciation was mostly spot on 2) you said "football" 3) you singled out Ashton Gate (Bristol City)
Coventry City were in the prem/top flight for years and years. We used to fill Highfield road week on week. But then came Ricoh arena and sisu. Now we play our games at St Andrews get your head round that one!
I live closest to and support Coventry City, we don’t play in the Ricoh anymore due to politics, we’re currently sharing with Birmingham. Our owners are looking got build a new stadium for us however they’ve been saying this for a long while, I guess we shall see
it sucks that a Rugby team from London owns the Ricoh and plays in it these days but apprantally there are plans for a new stadium at the University of Wawrick
Swansea City fan, we had a decent premier League run, it had such an effect on the place. Hoping it can happen again, manager deserves a medal for doing what he's done with no money. Second team....... I have a soft spot for Wimbledon FC.
I support my club Millwall, and I follow my local club is Hastings United, the latter is about 7-8 divisions below. There’s a difference between following and supporting.
And hopefully will be back in the top flight in the future. It's a great club who have had some great players in the past. And I speak as an Evertonian.
Leicester City fan here. The club has invested in quality players and a world class new training facility that opened last month. There are plans to extend the stadium but we don't have the catchment area to attract 50,000 fans every week. 40,000 would be more than enough - this is a very small City. Great video by the way. I support only one team. However I still look out for the results of other teams from towns where I have lived or my family members live: Sunderland, Forest, Coventry, Tranmere, Oldham.
As a Stoke, I also hate that our stadium is named after a betting company. Even though our chairman owns that betting company I still don't like it and I much prefer the 'Britannia Stadium'.
Stadium of light is the best. And also Wimbledon who were first have gone back to plough lane which is bigger And yes for example I support my local team who are Grimsby town but my uncle took me to a Sunderland match and I fell in love with them both And this is a old video your watching so yes teams have been relegated and promoted
Good point. My family lived abroad when I was small. I never kicked a round ball until I was 7 yrs old when the family moved back to England to Scunthorpe. They were the first English game I went to but my team became Leeds, the great Revie side of the 70’s from watching them on Sunday afternoon TV. I represented Scunthorpe and later Grimsby at schoolboy level when the family moved there. I also had seen a lot of Sheffield Utd early 70’s due to family member in hospital there and taking in a game on visits to the hospital. I don’t support all four teams but I do lookout for all their results. I also look out for Lewes results which is a town outside Brighton because I was involved in coaching and the commercial side of things as they climbed the non league tiers. I spent most of my life in Brighton but wouldn’t support them if you paid me. For me it’s Leeds and Grimsby. They are the two sides I’ll watch on tv if televised.
Man has done his research uno! Big respect for putting in time bro. You seem to know a lot. Was waiting for you to say something about Kcom stadium but we move
I’m a bolton fan, had a total of 15 years in the premier league, played in the europa league 3 times. We are now in league one due to horrific ownership, got a great young manager and great owners, be on our way back up soon! And we don’t fill the stadium we average 16’000 per home games.
I’m a hull fan we had a meteoric rise and then a massive downfall to. I support hull and nobody else but I just want like the premier league to have a genuine title race between multiple teams like this season. Cos it’s more exciting for neutrals. There’s teams that I dislike such as Leeds United and Man City, Chelsea. But then there’s teams that I like such as Aston Villa, Liverpool, spurs etc and then there’s like a middle ground
Wolves, molineux ground is an amazing place. Always has been. I went there in 1985 it was a wreck. A shadow of it’s former glory. Now they rise from the ashes.
The reason that st James’ park (the proper one), riverside stadium and the stadium of shite are so high on this list, is because the north east of England is particularly passionate about football even though unfortunately all our teams have suffered in recent years. Even tho Middlesbrough and the mackems are our rivals I hope some day soon we will all be in the premier league again because we have some of the best rivalries in English football
How he doesn’t realise that teams get relegated so some teams get big stadiums when they were doing well and now they’re doing badly doesn’t mean they get a shite stadium 😂
promotion and relegation and a long history (F.A. cup nearly as old as the U.S.A.) means some clubs in lower leagues used to be big clubs in top league and vice versa little teams over years can go up leagues and become big teams
Gotta point out, being a major European side doesn't automatically mean you need a huge stadium. There are big examples. PSG were offered the 80,000 Stade De France, they turned it down to stay at the Parc de Princes. Juventus were given a 72,000 seater athletics stadium built for Italia 90, they couldn't fill it, hated it and bought it just so they could demolish it to build a 45,000 ground, which suits them nicely.
Some towns Football, Rugby and/or Cricket teams share a grounds. Scunthorpe is my hometown. Everyone has heard of Scunthorpe United. If you stray into a part of our nation where you could get stabbed for supporting the wrong team, Scunthorpe United is the correct answer to give unless you know otherwise because regardless where you are, it knocks them off guard and they start asking you if you saw them at Wembley in the FA cup that one time 😂🤣😂
As a Coventry City fan the reason for why there is no fans is because a company called SISU took over our club and when we moved from highfield road (old stadium) we only now rent the Ricoh and everything was good and we got a decent attendance of around 20,000. But in 2012 We were relegated from the championship and later a rugby club called the wasps took over our stadium and kicked us out because our owners wanted money and stuff so now we play at Andrews and as I’m wrighting this we’ve agreed a 10 year deal to move back to the Ricoh. We were one of the biggest clubs in the 92. founding the 22 premier league clubs in the premier league 1992/93 season and staying in the top flight for 9 seasons and winning the FA Cup 3-2 over Spurs in 1987.
Bolton, we can pack it, when we are in the Prem. Today, we are in the third tier (League 1) and have a few gates (attendances) of over 20,000 this season. We took nearly 40,000 to Wembley in April 2023 for the Papa Johns Trophy (brilliant weekend away with my son). And I have to say, your knowledge is absolutely fantastic. May I add, try and do a bit of research. A lot of the stadiums were built decades ago, when teams were doing better/in higher leagues and getting the gates to make the stadiums feasible. Coventry, as an example, don’t even own their ground. I’ve seen a lot of these types of videos. Yours actually feels genuine, and with your knowledge of the sport over here, makes the reactions palpable.
Enjoyed watching your video. I took my 2 daughters to Sunderland v Bradford City on 26 December 2018, it was highest ever attendance for League 1 with 46,039. It was higher attendance than Premiership game Tottenham Hotspur v Bournemouth (45,154) played that day at Wembley - Spurs stadium was still being finished so they were playing at Wembley at the time. In 2019, Sunderland were at Wembley twice, for the Checkatrade Trophy (attendance 85,021) and then the League 1 playoff final final where we lost 2-1 with Charlton scoring on 90+4 minutes (attendance 76,155). We have amazing fans home and away during normal times. Can’t wait for COVID to go away and fans to be allowed in again.
Yeah.. I support Manchester United in the Premier League and Southport FC in the National League North.. (2 below League 2) Also, Bournemouth's Dean Court is called The Vitality Stadium currently And don't forget, almost all of the Championship and some League 1 and 2 teams used to be Prem stalwarts and didn't get relegated until recently.. hence their big grounds..
As a Sunderland fan I've got to say that although that type of reaction was expected it was still so funny to see your face at our stadium being so high on the list 👍😁😆
As an Everton fan it’ll be a sad day when we finally leave Goodson Park. She’s got so much character the old lady, but unfortunately the stadium is well out of date now. Hopefully this new one will be built on the banks of the river Mersey within the next 5 years
As a Coventry fan seeing our stadium immediately was amazing. However, our owners sre a disgrace so we are currently ground sharing with Birmingham (St Andrews) but we got promoted so are now in the Championship with them
5:05 - Oxford is an interesting one. 3 stands, not finished (4th stand will never be built) but a capacity higher than some "conventional" grounds dotted about the league. Top vid as well man, shame the EFL video you looked at wasn't recent. (Wimbledon & Coventry play elsewhere, Bury got expelled from the league)
I am a Coventry city supporter. We are currently now in the championship and we do not play in the Ricoh Arena, we currently play in Birmingham. When I saw the intro i got the memories of the bad days, when we were in an extremely bad place. In conclusion, I am extremely impressed that an American has at least a good amount of knowledge about football. And I must add that are club has a huge fan base...
Hi. Gillingham fan here. I only support Gillingham I don’t have a second team but some people do. Also, Newport share the ground with the Rugby team which is why you saw Rugby posts. A couple of other teams share with the Rugby teams too, including Wigan.
i actually have 2 teams, but not the reasons you specified, i'm from Inverness in Scotland but live near Bristol in England so here goes 1) Home town/city team: Inverness Caledonian Thistle 2) Local Team: Bristol City really ennoyed this video, keep it up :D
3:57 No. You can only support one club, going to watch your local is ok, like I was born in Manchester and grew up supporting City but I live in Morecambe where I have a season ticket because its not always easy getting down to Manchester
I can answer a question. I've followed Bury FC, formerly a member of the EFL, for 12 years now. Currently 2 seasons since we were expelled from the league. Now I'm taking up following the new Bury AFC side in the Northwest Counties League. Would kill to sit back at Gigg Lane and watch FC again
The reason why some lower league clubs have seemingly massive stadiums, such as Coventry, Charlton and Bolton are because they were in the premier league for a long period of time. Coventry in the 90s, Charlton in and out in the 90s and then solid in 2000s until relegation in 2007 and Bolton were in what is now the Europa League each season, until Sam Allardyce took over at Newcastle for 2007/08 As for Blackburn, they were consistently mid table for a very long time, after actually winning the premier league in 1995 - they had Alan Shearer before he moved to Newcastle :) A lot of the bigger grounds are due to club histories, but time has not been kind to a lot of teams
Correct. Brentford do have a new ground. It's less than a mile from Griffin Park and by all reports is pretty impressive. In answer to your question, you can ground hop and go to see local sides, but most of us stick with the one team. There is a saying, "You don't pick your club, it picks you" I've been going to Brentford since 1966 and hold a season ticket still even though I live in the south of France now and can only fly over once a month. But it's in the blood and sticks with you. You can't feel the same about another club. I can't even get that feeling with my go to club in France, Montpellier. It's just not the same!
yes you can support 2 teams for instance I'm a Liverpool fan and an Oxford United fan they are very unlikely to ever meet in the same league since Oxford is generally a league 1/2 team and at best a bottom half championship team
Blackburn is high up probably cuz, like Leicester, they have won the Premier League, only once in the 1994/95 season. And the Ricoh Arena is owned by the local authorities and not Coventry City. Currently though, they are sharing nearby St Andrews with Birmingham City. And as a West Brom fan, I’m glad you like The Hawthorns mate!!
When Coventry started to build that stadium they were a Premier League Team, hence why it’s so big. Same with Bolton & Sunderland’s Stadiums who have also gone down to the Lower Leagues. When Manchester City got relegated to League One (Division 2 back then) in 1998 they still got twenty thousand plus loyal supporters in their old stadium every week. The 1999 Play off final that year was Man City V Gillingham & the crowd was a 76,000 sell out, even Gillingham got 35,000 fans that day at the old Wembley, now we can’t fill our 11,000 seater stadium sadly.
Yeh i know that lol that's what i mean as well was just clatifying that it was even longer than you thought just thought it was important to note it was taken as it was finished like
I love & admire your knowledge of English football. To answer one of your questions, I support Southend United only, & go to every single game in person, 23 home & 23 away per season plus cup games (not including this season obviously due to Covid!). To answer one of your questions in another video too, Great Britain is England, Scotland & Wales. The UK includes Northern Ireland too, although they don’t have any big stadiums that I know of.
Don't confuse what league the team is in with the stadium size some clubs used to be in higher leagues and could afford bigger stadiums but got relegated a few times so you might have a stadium with 20k fans but it's in league 2 but the club used to be a championship club
Good knowledge, also random Charlton fact. Up until the 1960s their stadium was the biggest in England and could hold upto 80,000 people, with a massive east terrace, the club fell in hard times and moved out in 1985 and played at Palace and west ham the old one was demolished and they moved into a new one on the same site in 1992 taht only held 8000, and built it up to its present state
8:15 the owners of stoke city are the Coates family who own bet365. Hence why the shirt and stadium sponsor is bet365. 9:25 Coventry don’t own their ground and as such are sharing with Birmingham city. It’s currently a rugby ground.
Mate, in England you can go and watch championship football for £10 which is a bargain compared to premier league. The domestic cup comps like EFL cup and FA cup you can get early round game tickets for around £5. Football in the lower leagues is for the people.
Macclesfield Town doesn't exist anymore because the club folded due to problems that went on at the club. We used to hold around 40k but i think that was before Elland Road was an all seated stadium. There have been plans to increase the grounds capacity to 50,000 because our current capacity is not enough since we have a big fan base. Though it may be a while yet before work begins on the increase of the grounds capacity.
Your pronunciation was actually really good compared to most Americans lol. To answer your question, for me it's def that way, though both teams are 'local' insofar as they're both in the same city. My local team was Wimbledon, which folded. My dad tried to bring me up supporting his team, Everton (which he chose just because they were the first team he saw - he's a Kiwi who moved here, not a native) but I quickly switched to Chelsea because I preferred their shade of blue and they had a goalkeeper at the time with a funny name to me (I was like, 4 years old, the guy's name was Ed de Goey, which I pronounced 'gooey'). Wimbledon I always supported in their games but they folded and were eventually resurrected as AFC Wimbledon, which I still support but, Chelsea are my main team. Really, Everton are my second team just because of my dad. I also cheer for Norwich since I lived there for 5 years.
Brentford do have a new stadium, it's still not huge at around 20k. Fun fact Brentford's old stadium, Griffin Park, is the only stadium in the UK to have pub on each corner of the stadium.
4:10 I'm not British so I can't answer for them, but in Norway it's very common to have one Norwegian team (usually local) and a team from either PL, LaLiga, Serie A or Bundesliga
Yup, should never of demolished highfield road, used to own all the clubs and pubs and some houses around the stadium, question is where did all that money go? And worst of all why agree to sell the 50% stake you own in that stadium just to sell it to a rugby club it’s insane, the worst part of it all is when they went into financial trouble and dropped down a few leagues usually what happens is there’s new owners well I don’t understand how a club goes into administration just to get out of administration by the owners you already have, and the so called “football association “ is meant to protect clubs? Fucking joke of a system, not just Coventry have suffered this but they’ve been in trouble for about 10 years now with a ludicrous owner who took credit for the league 1 promotion when she literally put no money in the club, if coronavirus wasn’t going on now would be the time to sell the club if they even cared about the game

But if u support west ham and your your local team team is lets say hereford then i don't see any problem supporting them both, in my opinion tho

@@bradstocker1717 you could be right, but in the case of my old club, the actual capacity claimed was far higher than it has ever been.
Bolton will be back mate, I am a diehard Liverpool and Plymouth fan from Australia.
Could be worse, try being in the conference😂😂😶

Coventry would fill out their ground every single game if they didn’t have their current owners in place (and actually played at the Ricoh as opposed to Birmingham’s St Andrews)
They’re playing better than us at our own stadium as well being a blues fan rn is embarrassing
Well even when they were at the Ricoh Wasps were getting double the attendance and they regularly get 20,000+ to their matches
Innes Greg Because a lot of fans boycotted home games in protest against the owners...
Not many league two clubs take 40k to Wembley that’s for sure.
I think that's a little optimistic
Wembley holds 90k but you’re right, isn’t on this list as it isn’t owned or played in by any club team - just the national side. Hope you’re enjoying the English game my man.
Coventry don't have a stadium atm. They're ground sharing with Birmingham City. So when they play Coventry away, they're technically still playing at home.
An American who says football instead of soccer and he knows the names makes me smile you’ve got such good knowledge
Anfield will take 3rd spot at end of 2023 as they’re expanding the anfield road end. Making it 61,000 capacity
Bolton fan here, was in the prem for 13 years straight, even played in Europe, but due to our decline, we only sell half of it now
Up the whites!
Miss having Bolton in the prem, such a fiery away game in those days
Good, glad they went down under Aladyce the team just kicked the fcuk out of better teams, same with Stoke city fcukin orcs hope they never come back
Your pronunciation is spot on bro 👍🏼 especially when you say my team Bristol Rovers 😂 quality!
Top man!
Your Coventry reaction..priceless
As soon as you called out the betting companies being the stadium name, you gained a sub. Great video, your knowledge of English football is impressive. Also your mind will melt when you realise Bolton are now struggling in League 2 with a 28k stadium 😂
Just so you know, there are plans being made for Leicester City to expand their stadium.
Are training ground is amazing aswell😍
Current plans are for 42,000 or "bigger than Villa park"
This is the first time i've heard an American who really knows his stuff when it comes to Football, knows the small details like Brentford getting a new stadium, plus the pronunciations on places and teams was really admirable! Thoroughly enjoyed this video! :D
Can see Elland Road from my house!
Also most of us support only one club, but if it’s a low tier club that will realistically never see top flight then you can route for a prem club, but only ever support one
Your pronunciation on the clubs was spot on. That was a fun video
That video must be old; still has Gigg Lane, has Yeovil in the football league and still has Brentford at Griffin Park just to name a few
Its atleast 2 years cos villa were in the championship in the vid

Liverpool’s owners have applied for planning permission for an expansion which would bring Anfield up to around 60,000 seats. That would put it 3rd or 4th on the list with virtually the same capacity as the Emirates
The picture you had for villa park was old we have had a renovation since then and made the old trinity road stand bigger
That photo must be at least 20yrs old.
My team 🔵⚪️
I'm going to subscribe, for three reasons:
1) your pronunciation was mostly spot on
2) you said "football"
3) you singled out Ashton Gate (Bristol City)
Coventry City were in the prem/top flight for years and years. We used to fill Highfield road week on week. But then came Ricoh arena and sisu. Now we play our games at St Andrews get your head round that one!

it sucks that a Rugby team from London owns the Ricoh and plays in it these days but apprantally there are plans for a new stadium at the University of Wawrick

Sometimes less is more, you want to 'feel' the passion, you want that stadium to move. Foxes Never Quit.
Plus you don’t want to move into a goldfish bowl like West Ham
As a Stoke, I also hate that our stadium is named after a betting company. Even though our chairman owns that betting company I still don't like it and I much prefer the 'Britannia Stadium'.

Also, teams like blackburn and sunderland had decent tenures in the prem, therefore they still have pretty fat stadiums
I’m a bolton fan, had a total of 15 years in the premier league, played in the europa league 3 times. We are now in league one due to horrific ownership, got a great young manager and great owners, be on our way back up soon! And we don’t fill the stadium we average 16’000 per home games.
Coventry didn’t have the chance to play in Europe because of the Liverpool and jueventus bastards
You've heard of Morecambe? Woot! The stadium is literally 20 yards from my house.
Can you watch it from your house?
I don’t remember “Fulham Athletic” playing at Craven Cottage, as the video he is watching shows
And Burnley play at Turf moor and at Barnsley’s stadium apparently
Great video. Love the enthusiasm and football knowledge 🦾
How he doesn’t realise that teams get relegated so some teams get big stadiums when they were doing well and now they’re doing badly doesn’t mean they get a shite stadium 😂
Yes I do have a local club that I support and also a premier league club which I support because it’s the club that my dad supports
promotion and relegation and a long history (F.A. cup nearly as old as the U.S.A.) means some clubs in lower leagues used to be big clubs in top league and vice versa little teams over years can go up leagues and become big teams
Such a good point, our footballs been around as long as americas been civilised, if anyone should be able to understand the changes its them
Gotta point out, being a major European side doesn't automatically mean you need a huge stadium.
If you stray into a part of our nation where you could get stabbed for supporting the wrong team, Scunthorpe United is the correct answer to give unless you know otherwise because regardless where you are, it knocks them off guard and they start asking you if you saw them at Wembley in the FA cup that one time 😂🤣😂
Up the fucking Iron 👊🏼🔴🔵🔴🔵🔴🔵🔴🔵
If you want to know more just google Coventry City stadium issues and it’ll tell you all of our history with our bad owners
English people who know non league teams: *plenty more where that came from*
Bolton, we can pack it, when we are in the Prem.
“Elland Rover”?
Leicester are getting an extension to there stadium
Supporting two teams is called being “plastic”. It’s massively frowned upon by most
Supporting and being a fan is different though
As a Sunderland fan I've got to say that although that type of reaction was expected it was still so funny to see your face at our stadium being so high on the list 👍😁😆
As an Everton fan it’ll be a sad day when we finally leave Goodson Park. She’s got so much character the old lady, but unfortunately the stadium is well out of date now. Hopefully this new one will be built on the banks of the river Mersey within the next 5 years
Love going to Goodison as City fan, but yeah, Everton's too big of a club to stay there going forward

Exactly.
As a Coventry fan seeing our stadium immediately was amazing. However, our owners sre a disgrace so we are currently ground sharing with Birmingham (St Andrews) but we got promoted so are now in the Championship with them
Coventry cities stadium is owned by a rugby team thats why they have such a big stadium
Well not quite 🤣🤣🤣 it was like that when we were there just never packed it
5:05 - Oxford is an interesting one. 3 stands, not finished (4th stand will never be built) but a capacity higher than some "conventional" grounds dotted about the league.
Top vid as well man, shame the EFL video you looked at wasn't recent. (Wimbledon & Coventry play elsewhere, Bury got expelled from the league)
There are some football grounds that share with a rugby team
I am a Coventry city supporter. We are currently now in the championship and we do not play in the Ricoh Arena, we currently play in Birmingham. When I saw the intro i got the memories of the bad days, when we were in an extremely bad place. In conclusion, I am extremely impressed that an American has at least a good amount of knowledge about football. And I must add that are club has a huge fan base...
Never seen a bloke so excited about Scunthorpe in my life but my team is Tranmere Rovers
Hi. Gillingham fan here. I only support Gillingham I don’t have a second team but some people do.
Also, Newport share the ground with the Rugby team which is why you saw Rugby posts. A couple of other teams share with the Rugby teams too, including Wigan.
i actually have 2 teams, but not the reasons you specified, i'm from Inverness in Scotland but live near Bristol in England
so here goes
1) Home town/city team: Inverness Caledonian Thistle
2) Local Team: Bristol City

Coventry in the 90s, Charlton in and out in the 90s and then solid in 2000s until relegation in 2007 and Bolton were in what is now the Europa League each season, until Sam Allardyce took over at Newcastle for 2007/08
As for Blackburn, they were consistently mid table for a very long time, after actually winning the premier league in 1995 - they had Alan Shearer before he moved to Newcastle :) A lot of the bigger grounds are due to club histories, but time has not been kind to a lot of teams

Nice video. Brentford are now playing in their new Brentford Community Stadium, which holds around 17,500. Could be Premier League bound
Good knowledge, also random Charlton fact. Up until the 1960s their stadium was the biggest in England and could hold upto 80,000 people, with a massive east terrace, the club fell in hard times and moved out in 1985 and played at Palace and west ham the old one was demolished and they moved into a new one on the same site in 1992 taht only held 8000, and built it up to its present state
Great video buddy! Nice knowledge of football too
8:15 the owners of stoke city are the Coates family who own bet365.
4:10 I'm not British so I can't answer for them, but in Norway it's very common to have one Norwegian team (usually local) and a team from either PL, LaLiga, Serie A or Bundesliga
yeah a lot of people have more than one club they support. usually their local team then a big club.
Oof, do not ask about Coventry and their stadium- that's a whole unpleasant mess there. Love from Gillingham.
