I'm doing my canoe as well right now, but spreading the boat fender bumpers farther apart, by about 25 inches from the edge of the canoe gunnels on either side. It will make my canoe far more steady for both standing up while fishing, or in rough water, with fairly large waves.
Well done. Strong work! How much did it actually stabilize your canoe? No tipping, I'm sure? I know this is a 3 year old post, but that'll stand the test of time! Ooops, I shoulda read the comments, incredibally stable!
Ya you will get to see it in action on the the video series oh ya an if ya subscribe I'm picking the winner at the end of the week for the custom crankbait thanks for watching
Awesome! I have been wanting to stabilize my canoe with an outrigger for a while. Checking out videos and came across yours. Like the way you did it and your explanation of the steps required. Did it make a big difference in stability?
Good Country Fokes know how to build things and survive, Thanks for your information on the stabilizers. But what end do you think it works best or used it in the middle, I got a used 16 foot Colman's looks like it going to set flat on the water, and before I even go out, I am going to build a set of stabilizers,!!

I wince at your gloveless vise! Otherwise I find your instructions to be entirely inspirational!

I run mine in the middle of the canoe so me and whoever goes with me has more room. It seems to help just as good in the middle as it does behind you.
Well done !!
