Hi! My name is Tim The Lawnmower Man and I love to clean up overgrown yards and make fun videos doing it. I'm able to do them for free as these videos have ads on them and the revenue from that enables me to cover my cost.
I'm always looking for the worst yards around. Sometimes I drive around looking for them, sometimes viewers send me suggestions.

Love the fact the neighbour moved the car. As sometimes people can be asshats and just ignore it and then complain later .
Tim, for a 79 year old sitting at home, it is a pleasure to view your Vlogs. You are such a personable young man. Your video techniques are very good. I like seeing a bit of the day of someone out and about in the natural world. I hope you will keep doing them.

Liked your experiment on whether the mower or line trimmer was better in the "thick and layed-down" backyard grass. Since that yard was not landscaped, "At least they now have a yard," was a good point. You gave them space, order, walkability. I enjoy the blogs because I like the "how do you cope, invent, etc." content. I know in a way that doing yards "over and over" could get old but you work on keeping your life fresh with testing equipment, searching for solutions (to things as grass runners), viable microphones, and more. Pleased the owner was kind and brought you drinks in the heat there.
Working on Sunday, the big fella upstairs is a forgiving god i understand !! lol 👍👍🇬🇧

I started watching garden clearing with a chap from Florida USA who seemed to have a site all on his own. So no great surprise very quickly there were others copying him, but that should mean more residents getting a free grass cut , and so now here we are in hot and sunny Australia with loads of deadly snakes and spiders with your good self. But I doubt that it would hit on here as we Brits in general look after their gardens and of course the weather here is usually rubbish ! So keep up the good work and the videos as no doubt you will be up to 1000 subscribers!! 😂
Doesnt look like too many are watching the vlog compared to your other videos but i look forward to it each day.
They will never have the views of the main ones but the people who watch will likely watch more often.

Tim its a shame people do shotty work like that fence, maybe the homeowner should find out the name of the company and call them and have them fix what they did wrong. You did a great job on this yard, id like to see it once they get it landscaped, have a great week 😊.

Great job on the vlogs and videos mate.
Best mod for your utility mower is cut the side chute down to 1/3 of the length. Discharges the grass heaps better and also makes it easier to push the mower in long grass and tight areas.

It's difficult having to work six days a week. My week starts Sunday because some properties have people around during the week while shops are open, so for safety and noise I have to mow Sundays.

I thought you would just take a second to balance your blades after sharpening. I always dunk my blades in water for an hour to loosen up the caked-on and hardened clippings and then all the debris can be removed and the blades look like new. Then, when I balance the blades, I am getting a true balance job. I also use a digital angle gauge to ensure that the angle is correct. Most blades are sharpened to an angle of 30 degrees but my 2-blade Honda recommends a 25-degree cutting edge.
Hmm. You need a bench vice for sharpening those blades safely. Tough to get the angle right holding it in your hand. Safety glasses anytime you are loosening those nuts and grinding. You are only issued one set of eyes. Those ‘new’ metal fences were a bit of a joke. Anytime you have wood next to the ground it will eventually start to break down. Then what? All those metal panels will have to be dismantled to get at the wood base. Crazy. As long as you keep the vlogs short and sweet, I’ll keep watching. Stay safe.

I enjoy both the vlogs and FMFs. The vlogs allowed us to meet some of the FMF recipients and hear more of their story than you can normally get on a FMF. But for me, the best part of these vlogs is the tips & tricks. A lot of them come out informally as you go about your day, and others are from experts (like tilting the mower). I found this channel via turf & tools after my brother suggested searching RUclips for lawn videos, and to see if I could fit a Stihl auto-feed head o my Makita line trimmer (found out it’s a different thread😢). You’re never too old to learn, and I’ve learnt quite a few things from simply watching and listening to what’s going on in these vlogs. Keep it up, but not at the expense of your own mental health or family time.

Looking forward to the lawn guy. I'd love someone to come and tell me how to get my lawn looking its best. Have tried to find someone up here (Darwin) to come and help me with my lawn but can't find anyone that does that. I've been relying on you, Blade Mate, a local gardening group and Google to try and figure it out myself. With only some success.

As much as the Electric snipper did a good job, the petrol one just kept going to finish the job. At least twice the price to outlay, I think its going to be a while before commercial lawn specialists are going to make a big shift towards all electric. Great for units or tidy up jobs, not fit for purpose on a overgrown yard

I love getting out there on the weedeater and claiming back a property I did it in one of the rentals I moved to the landlady was like na I will get someone in I just did it over the weekend after we moved it didn't look great but got it to the point of been able to mow it with a mower she was stoked when she showed up to get a quote from the lawnmower guy to find I had already done it and had already run the mower over it once (she lived out of town so everything took her a few weeks to get round to it) got a 24 box of beers out of it for something I loved doing😂
I have the Masport side discharge as well (mine's green, though). (Also have a Honda HRU216 and a 19 inch alloy- deck Greenfield that weighs nothing for small yards). The Masport is so, so good and versatile. Great video Tim!
Have you tried that odd looking machine blade mate Sean is using? A hybrid mower/trimmer, or a linetrimmer on wheels I suppose. Looks odd, but handy for its use in tall stuff :-)
Someone needs to create a ride on mower that can either easily separate or has the ability to fold up to go through the fence gates so you can use them on really long grass.

Is your utility mower specifically built for overgrown yards, or the tough grasses you have down under? It seemed to have a very shallow deck and no front that would bend the grass before hitting the blades?

Why do all the homes in Aussie land have those types of fences? When I lived in Colorado everyone has wood fences, which after a decade or so start looking pretty bad, then I moved to Arizona and everyone has cement block fencing, which seems to last forever and looks good as well. Those metal fences look terrible, and why black?
