Here, I present the main themes and thematic elements of the score of The Dragon Prince season 1, give a discussion of theory and/or meaning, and show examples in the show where they are used and why! Feeling very entitled, I also comment on my overall impression of the score and some opportunities to make it even better. asdlkfjsfadfi MUSIC THEORY AMIRITE
this took a long-ass time to make and tbh i don't know why I made it except i am obsessed with music
I also apologize for any misinformation, feel free to correct me in the comments, but honestly I really tried my best here ~

I'm not sure why the elf warble played when Opeli smothered the torch, but I'm pretty sure the warble during Claudia's tracking spell was referring to Rayla's braid rather than the magic firefly things, as it would more closely fit the elf trend.

    *Possible S2-S3 spoilers*
21:58 A theory that I have is that once Aaravos escapes the mirror, he'll abandon Viren as he no longer has a use for him. I was thinking that Viren's three note theme (or lack of theme) could symbolise that he's merely a puppet being used for the benefit of Aaravos. It could also show that, since he has no true power (political or magic) as Aaravos had been fueling both Viren's power at the end of S2 and Viren's lust for power, the only thing Viren has left is the influene he had as the King's close friend and advisor (hence the fragment of the Katolis Fam theme)

I mean, that is my guess since it doesn't play every time claudia is onscreen, just when her and callum are on screen 😶

This is an incredible analysis, you put so much care and effort into it and it shows. This was really helpful, and you brought up things I'd never have noticed otherwise. You got yourself a new subscriber :D If you do more videos for the music of the other seasons, I'd be eager to watch, but you have no obligation of course

This and your other TDP music analysis video is so underrated. In my opinion, did such an amazing job explaining the musical analysis and it's a very well-edited video. I'm surprised that the quality of your videos are so good for such a small channel. You deserve a lot more views than 200!
