    No contact is the most efficient boundary.we shouldn't be afraid of grabbing to do a thing. I was not.

    Be in charge of our emotions.
    Being in control is like driving a car on an icy road - takes all your concentration and energy. Being in charge is an overview - only intervene when necessary.

    I’m a former clinician and it’s amazing how much we were not taught! I value the lessons I learned as my children matured, and can relate to the examples you mentioned. How can you best “behave” when family is in s group setting around your children and extended family threatens your boundaries?

    When you are in that “dance” around family, you need to remember that you CAN only change the way YOU dance. My only concern is losing face around adult children or if this incident occurs in public.

    Excellent content; very useful to know my soul is decaying when I’m forced by a manipulator to do something I don’t want to & my life depends on their emotional ups & downs!

    What is the difference between influence and manipulation?

    • @elenif.vlachou9126
      @elenif.vlachou9126 4 года назад +1

      manipulation is mainly negative imposition on someone elses life. Someone sick has found a good victim for this, And influence has both neg and pos. LEADERS usu are said to have one or the other. I mean of course a MOM is a LEADER..she influence her kids. Check JCMAXWELL on this too. INFLUENCE and lEADERSHIP is his FIELD..hes #1 in it.

    • @alliehill4076
      @alliehill4076 4 года назад +2

      Manipulation is basically pressurising someone to do something by threatening negative emotional or other non-physical consequences if they don't do what you want.
      Eg if you don't watch the video she has been enthusing about and urging you to watch, then she'll be less friendly and will be cold towards you.
      Influence would be where she explains why she'd like you to watch the video but doesn't make you feel punished if you don't do it. She accepts your choice either way even if she is disappointed, allowing you to choose 'no' freely, respecting the fact that you have your own choice and don't have to follow what she would choose.
