Gomexus single power handles for larger bait casting reels makes them a dream for surf and light offshore fishin’. I only like the knobs for my larger spinning reels. I install Lew’s Winn grip knobs on my small spinning reels.
I can't speak to this Gomexus handle specifically, but big handles totally change the feel of the reel and can provide some versatility. I had a bad experience installing just the Gomexus knobs themselves. It was a pain to drill and the knobs loosened. I use Penn Pursuits 2500 for light tackle surf fishing with 10ft surf perch rods. The big knob handle for the Penn Pursuit IV 3000/4000 actually fits the 2500 and it's really inexpensive to buy just the handle from penn directly. So when I am surf fishing I use the big knob handle, and then I switch to the smaller paddle handle for inshore and freshwater. I am pretty sure the Penn Pursuit IV 3000/4000 handle fits all Penn 3000/4000 reels.
Had my gomexus knob loosen after install on my BG. Added some thread locker to the fastening screw and haven’t had an issue. Drilling the handle out on my brand new reel wasn’t a fun way to pass the time though.
I put some on two of my 3500 pen spinfisher VI, I like them a lot. I have a Slammer 3 I bought during the holidays when bass pro had almost $100 off of those reels. This handle makes the spinfisher feel like the slammer.
I will consider looking into the Gomexus as a replacement for my Sarus 2500. The original handle has a rubber cover that has literally gone to goo! I removed the rubber completely and I have a bare white plastic knob left. Thanks for the review Pat!
It's feels so much better than the factory handles, I swapped all my factory handles to aluminum power handles. And I agree it when it comes to the sizes however, use small diameter knobs for 4000 and smaller Reels.
@@Saltstrong you most welcome, I appreciate all the content. Really improved my angling experience. From half way across the world in south Africa, Thanks guys
What size knob did you use on the rod in this video? Understanding that there's three different sizes available, it's hard to determine how big these are or what size I should go with until I see a spinning reel of same model or size that I currently use to know what works. I currently use the ambassador power handle on my 6500. That one fills out my hand perfectly. But my Shimano FX4000 (black and gold one) is a little small by comparison. I tried to upgrade by using a Shimano Nasci 6000 knob which turn out to be way bigger than I anticipated. Just trying to find that happy medium. Thanks in advance for your input. 👍

I use a Penn Battle 3 6000 size reel, and these knobs are a must. Much easier to grip and add some leverage and comfort.
Thanks for sharing!
Highly recommended. Love mine, especially on 4000 series reels that come with T handles.

it would be cool if the knob was on a slider so you could change between torque and speed.

I put the knob on my feugo 2500. Like it much better. Probably going to put the 35 mm knob on my bgmq25k too.
I have it on the BGMQLT 2500 it’s great. Just the knob not the Handel

@@joeraiola7033 after a few weeks of use...the 35mm knob on the bgmq 2500 is perfect. Love it.
braid used?
Is there any truth to changing the handle length or any dimensions from original causing gear problems when reeling under tension?
Not that anyone has seen yet!
Я купил ручку Gomexus в сборе для своей Exceler 4000C и очень доволен.
The whole time I'm looking at that silver spoon and thinking "Were they out of gold?"
When you were describing the time it took to install it I decided I'd just go fishing instead.
We are sorry you didn't care for this video. Our goal is to reach anglers of all skill levels. We hope you enjoy the next one!
Can the knob be replaced to a size 35 instead of having the 38?

How much do these change the gear ratio? Do they increase the reel speed or slow it down?
They don’t change the ratio at all, it’s just a handle.
If you buy a longer handle you tend to reel slower but your gear ratio is the same.
