Lots of people suggest...if the customer has hand it to me AND leave at door. Take a picture of the order and address and send it as a text to the customer, it covers you if something comes up later
@ddashKam don't take the pic with the app...take the pic with your phone camera. That why you have it with you if you need it. There's also apps that timestamp your photos so if shows time and date on the photo. Save your butt any way you can
Same thing happened to me and I only did one order that day and I texted her saying she’s broke and prolly needed that free food more than the homeless people down her street, didn’t even get banned lol
You were lucky, if the customer complained about that message and or DD checked your messages, DD will deactivate you. Best to just leave it alone and contact DD support, you can than ask DD support to remove you from ever delivering to that customer again. Best to just take photos of all DD deliveries, even hand it to me orders and keep them on your phone for at least a week. Also go into settings of your picture app and enable location. This will add into the details of the picture, the physical address and GPS map coordinates. Never ever be rude to a no tip scammer, its not worth the time or your job.
When customers type is conflicting notes like hand it to me and leave at door. I make sure I either record myself walking to the apartment or house or taking a pic with my time stamp camera. Sometimes they will try to hurry up and grab the food before you take a pic but they don't know I'm already recording. Once I deliver I make sure I message them with both pic of their house and food. Then I type in I just dropped your order off have a nice day or evening. It's extra steps but you have to cover yourself. People are sneaky. It's crazy that we live in a world where cameras are every where and people will still try to scam you. smh
Hand it to me but leave at my door in the notes. I go into chat with the customer and send them a pic of their food sitting at the door before I close the order. Had one tonight. DD keeps a record of everything in the chat with agents or the customer.
When I get an order that says Hand to Me and leave at my door I send them a text with a picture of the location just in case. DoorDash has the ability to see the text and the picture. CYA.
When I see conflicting delivery instructions I send a text (or call thru the app) asking to confirm their delivery preference. Most times it’s “leave at door” - so I’ll take the pic of the delivery with my phone camera and upload it to the text message BEFORE marking the order as delivered (even though I know you can text after delivery is completed). Sucks when people try to jeopardize what we do. For some delivery drivers it’s their only source of income.
"(even though I know you can text after delivery is completed)" This is not always true, even if you submitted a pic on a "regular hand it to me order" The only time it always shows up is if you have initiated a chat and the customer is actually using the DD app. If they ordered on their computer then it opens your phones messaging app and does not go through DD app. Some scammers even opt out of messaging/phone contact altogether. Also if it says hand it to me leave at door, do not check handed to customer. Say could not hand to customer and it will then make you wait five minutes and then you can take a picture as proof. This takes to long so what your doing is much easier by sending a picture via chat and then just say handed to customer, so you can be on your way. But yes always take a picture of hand it to me/leave at door customers and try to send it to them and also keep that picture in your phone for at least a week, in case of a CV, so you have proof. I also always try and sneak a pic of regular hand it to me customers , or at least take a picture of their house or mailbox address. Also it is good to go into your picture app settings and enable "location" this will tag in the details of pics, the physical address and GPS coordinates . On top of all that I have a dashcam I point at all houses showing me delivering an order. So far these tips have saved me from 3 or 4 CV's from hidden in a stack, no tip/scamming customers.
Hey hey. I got a contract violation on Thursday. I had an issue at the drop, gps was off, reported it to Doordash. It wouldn't let me take a picture, so I went through the app to complete it. I verified the building and the apt number, no bueno, contract violation appeared that night. First time in over 800 deliveries. :( I appealed it, and just going forward, will take personal pics if I have any issues.
What sucks is when go to an improperly numbered residence!! And drop offs at schools and businesses can be a pain in the ass!! That’s why I don’t do supermarkets or stores because drop offs are DIFFICULT because of gridlock at the store and lack of a drop off zone at the customer!!
@@DegenKam Yess, especially like the McDonald’s ones that take forever, and then you think that the $4.50 “high pay” order you accepted would be worth it, but end up regretting it because the drop off sucks. It can be so irritating.
Make sure you use tags for your videos. Like #doordash #doordashing #contractviolation #dashwithme I think it would help draw people in. You deserve to be growing faster than this❤ idk much about RUclips or the algorithm, but I think there are people out there that do search by tags.
I got a contract violation last month when my customer said they didn’t receive the order, even though the apartment number in the door photo matched the number in the delivery address. I disputed it and got it thrown out. Hopefully DoorDash unmatches you from anyone who makes a “did not receive” claim, whether true or not.
