She's putting on a Lana Del Rey voice and her video is full of all the same shit I saw in Marina and the Diamonds Primadonna video and her song is some generic pop beat with the story of her sad, tragic, privileged af life over it. A lot of people in the comments are comparing Natalia’s criticism with Simon Cowell’s. Simon, at worst, tells people that they’re terrible. I knew this song and the rest of her music before I knew what she did on the X Factor, and honestly while what she did was terrible, this song has helped me out so much over the past several years getting through my personal issues. It's a raw and open song, and the fact that people can't appreciate the music and have to attack the artist really saddens me, because this is really a phenomenal song.

I feel so glad Natalia is one of those artists I discovered this year and secretly hope she doesn't go mainstream but hope more people can know how awesome she is. Natalia's lyrics are a fascinating combination of darkness, youthfulness and raw candor that others cannot easily replicate. Unlike with other "pop stars" who only claim to have significant creative input in the writing of their songs, you cannot deny Natalia's presence when you look at her lyrics. And that's why I and many others hope she doesn't give up on her craft. Wishing her all the best in her band, or even as a songwriter for other singers. Even better if she can return as a solo act, perhaps as an indie critic's darling.

Natalia Kills, Kerli Kiov, and Christina Aguilera’s Bionic era were sacrificed so that Lady Gaga could succeed. Natalia had so much potential, her album Trouble was pop perfection with lyrics that we should hear more often in pop music... but unfortunately she was just overshadowed, and the little attention she got was mostly comparisons to Lady Gaga (and of course, Natalia was deemed the “copycat”)... her NZ X-Factor incident reminded me very much of “Gretchen Wieners... had cracked.” She finally had enough of the unfairness of the music industry and just cracked at the wrong place and the wrong time, took it out on some poor innocent contestant who had nothing to do with anything, and she destroyed her image. Such a shame. I think the only similar artist who’s come since then is Tove Lo, but unfortunately Tove Lo’s mainstream popularity was also pretty short-lived. Her music was too dark and blunt for the mainstream crowd, but she was also too mainstream for some of the underground crowds to take her seriously.

A lot of people in the comments are comparing Natalia’s criticism with Simon Cowell’s. Simon, at worst, tells people that they’re terrible. Natalia absolutely went in and told a kid he was disgusting because “he was trying to copy her husband” who had slicked back hair and a suit. As if Willy Moon invented the look? Her harsh criticism was way over the top and inaccurate. I think she deserved some backlash for this, but I do think she should be given a second chance. Her talent shines bright in this song
I knew this song and the rest of her music before I knew what she did on the X Factor, and honestly while what she did was terrible, this song has helped me out so much over the past several years getting through my personal issues. It's a raw and open song, and the fact that people can't appreciate the music and have to attack the artist really saddens me, because this is really a phenomenal song.

Thought her stuff was real catchy back when I was in 11th grade in 2011, and only recently read about the whole X Factor controversy, and then learnt about her childhood, her chaotic traumatizing teen years, and I realize all these stupid trolls who think they're doing something virtuous and brave by mass disliking her old videos is pretty gross.

This was my song when I was 17 years old and ‘till now. I was so depressed and suicidal. Whenever I feel sad, I always play this song. But it brings so much pain about my past that I oftentimes cry. Like literally. I wasn’t given enough support emotionally and mentally by anyone. So, I had to go through different struggles growing up and learned how to be more matured. I slowly accepted my depression until it became sadness. Until the time I don’t get so emotional anymore whenever I hear this song.

Does anyone else struggle to hear the "p" in cops? Could it be a genius, honest lyric that can connect to her father's shady business endeavors, but is really about her promiscuity as a teen? It may be written as cops, but it doesn't sound like it. Just seems the surrounding lines are dealing with "relationships", not law enforcement on the take.

Natalia Kills, Kerli Kiov, and Christina Aguilera’s Bionic era were sacrificed so that Lady Gaga could succeed. Natalia had so much potential, her album Trouble was pop perfection with lyrics that we should hear more often in pop music... but unfortunately she was just overshadowed, and the little attention she got was mostly comparisons to Lady Gaga (and of course, Natalia was deemed the “copycat”)... her NZ X-Factor incident reminded me very much of “Gretchen Wieners... had cracked.” She finally had enough of the unfairness of the music industry and just cracked at the wrong place and the wrong time, took it out on some poor innocent contestant who had nothing to do with anything, and she destroyed her image. Such a shame.
I think the only similar artist who’s come since then is Tove Lo, but unfortunately Tove Lo’s mainstream popularity was also pretty short-lived. Her music was too dark and blunt for the mainstream crowd, but she was also too mainstream for some of the underground crowds to take her seriously.

Actually adore Natalia tbh, Simon Cowell has probably said far worse in his whole career and got no shame, but Natalia makes a comment and she's shamed forever, it's actually a joke.. It almost seemed like a publicity stunt, because Natalia isn't well known anywhere.. even in the UK, to have her as a judge in a New Zealand talent show made no sense at all as well.. all press is good press and that's exactly what Natalia got, whether it was good or not and tbh, the things that came out of her mouth wouldn't even offend a 5 year old, so to remove her from the show completely without warning was ridiculous, she should have gotten a warning and made to apologise, but the comment "copying my husband" is she a child? It just seemed like she was talking nonsense (by being made too).. who even was her husband tbh, I feel like it was a fake relationship all for bad media.
