Hey David! I am sure your neighbor was thrilled with her lavender garden bench. You are so patient and positive when things get more difficult. . It is a pleasure to watch you work.
Fantastic project David! That wood was just looking for a fight the whole time! There are no mistakes just happy accidents 😁. Seriously great work and that bench is much better it should last for a lot of years now. And the color is actually nice for a garden.
Looks great David! That bench fought you some but you won in the end. I did one of those years ago and we like it so much we keep it in the house rather than putting it back outside. 😁
Thank you Richard! That painting rack was a display rack I picked up at a retail store going out of business. The wifey dragged me there to look as close outs and of course that's what I come home with! Appreciate you watching.
I'm Glad you did this, I have one almost identical that i need to restore. I was thanking a good hard wood for the slats, but Cypris sounds better. You won in the end and the Bench looks fantastic. Great job.
Thank you Dale. The cypress turned out pretty good, but to do it over, I would probably use white oak. Cypress is a softwood and the white oak would probably give it a little more stiffness.
Hi Dave- My Girlfriend has the same exact bench, same problems minus the brazing. They were import knockoffs and not too expensive but the design was flawed as there is no cross bracing so with time the weight of people sitting exacerbates the weakness and with every sitting there are new stresses. You did a great fix using high grade wood and stainless fasteners! 😃👍
Thanks John, it was a fun project for a neighbor who didn't really know where to get it fixed. I wanted to give her something that would last! Thanks for watching.
You had me at ..."let me get my Case Pocket Knife "😅 just great job Mr. Dave- sent ya a question on IG when ya have time to look at it! Again Fantastic job, I bet she was tickled with it!
That was all for you brother, I knew you would freak when I pulled the Case out. Thanks again for the can popper, using it all the time! And yes, she was very happy with the bench!

Very nice result. Sometimes what should be a simple, easy project becomes something else entirely.
Seems that the way a lot of them go for me! LOL. Oh well, I still have fun. Thanks for watching Dave.
Excellent project. I am sure she was thrilled with the result.
Thank you very much, and yes she was very happy.
Great job David! Mrs Magdad liked the color your neighbor picked for the slats.
Thanks Magdad, the color actually grew on me! Now you can make one the same for the Mrs! Thanks for stopping by!

Nice video ... FYI the sound volume is on the Low side .. quality is fine but low ... cheers
Thanks for letting me know. Have been playing with some settings to improve my videos, definitely will take note. Thanks for watching!
@@westhighlandsshop Regarding sound, as a guy with minimal hearing (deaf in one ear, can't hear with the other one) I like less bass, more treble.
Great job on the bench! Love the painting rack, great idea, think I am going to made one.
