I’ve said it every season and I’ll say it again this one- The McQueen brand has been completely robbed of its character and edge now that it is carried by Sarah Burton. The clothes are always pretty- but devoid of poetry, meaningful beauty, art and drama. Just a shell of what “McQueen” is- Merely a scratch upon the surface of what it once was/ could / should be. UGH it breaks my heart every time all over again because it reminds me that he is gone and he will never be back to share his mind with us. I am so happy I was alive while he was. I don’t mean to talk badly about Sarah... I feel bad for doing that- but I LOVED + still do love lee so very much. He is and always will be one of my greatest inspirations.

There’s no way that someone would ever replace Sarah’s work as creative director of the brand, even with McQueen’s replace, the job was way easier to have it done and I’ll explain why: I hope this make sense to you but Alexander was an artist in his very unique way, a living art piece in its more pure form, that, made him -literally- irreplaceable, no one would ever do anything like he did so, sarah never replaced him, she took over his role in the brand instead, which in the way I see it is not the same, because the holders of the house were obviously not looking for someone to mimic Mcqueen artistry that was, is and will be just impossible instead, they wanted to keep the business goind now as a brand held by McQueen heritage, so, they were looking for someone who was capable of keeping the business going (now as a fashion house) while paying respect and tribute to the founder, his name and heritage would be the entire premise to maintain the buyers, or at least their attention and take everything right where Lee left it (commercially speaking) there was no one capable to achieve that but his former right hand Sarah Burton, to take over everything , so she did. At the very first moment that McQueen passed away, his brand as he builted it, died with him, once the holders decided to keep the busines going, they knew that Alexander Mcqueen was now going to be a fashion brand instead of that sort of a canvas where all the creativity from Alexander himself was poured into and shown to the world, art would now become part of the brand's DNA, instead of being the entire constitution of it. 10 years after the “rebrand”, there's not much that the actual creative director of the brand owes to the founder, his vision or his art, but even though, she is still paying tribute to him in every single collection, whether if it's among the clothing, the venue for the show, the design of the production or everything at the same, so, after those 10 longs years of have a brand constructed from scratch to what has become nowadays, and with all the respects to Sarah, if someday either she quits or the holders wants to have her removed, she would have to be replaced (not defenestrated) with another designer, but, who in the world would be able to replace her, her vision, the heritage and the history she started to write when she was named Creative Director for the incipient alexander McQueen fashion brand back in 2011? Nobody comes to my mind and I truly believe that in fact, there's is no one that would ever be able to replace her and, even though I feel she has been doing more than awesome and I hope she stays as creative director, I'd really like to imagine how that situation would be handled by the holders but i'm just incapable to have it solved, and that always lead me to belive that maybe, and just maybe, that's why Lee chose her and after all, she is just as irrepleaceable as Alexander McQueen himself in her very own way of course and once she's done with her work at the brand, another legend would be born and another new brand will have to be created.

I thought the show was McQueen all over, especially several of the suits at point 6:20, which seem like scaled back versions of McQueen's Fall/Winter 2008 romance of the British Empire show. Burton, to me, has made McQueen more wearable, perhaps not so dramatic, however she ensures the house retains the exquisite McQueen tailoring and form.
This collection has hint of ancient Celt but in the modern world. It's an interesting mix. The mood also has a viking-like feel to it with the stiff hair and stern faces.
A very wearable and well done collection. Not as avant guard as McQueen was but still a fine show...More accessible and to a wider audience. This isnt couture so I dont object to it being a bit "toned down" at all............we need to remember that.
As a woman not like all of Alexandria McQueen's clothes but some of them where outstanding just like some of these clothes here a very inspirational and beautiful I think it's designer takes from another I wish we could have seen some of the shoes very unusual and I don't mean the boots

Always a welcome surprise when gaining a glimpse of Alexander McQueen...
I’ve said it every season and I’ll say it again this one- The McQueen brand has been completely robbed of its character and edge now that it is carried by Sarah Burton. The clothes are always pretty- but devoid of poetry, meaningful beauty, art and drama. Just a shell of what “McQueen” is- Merely a scratch upon the surface of what it once was/ could / should be. UGH it breaks my heart every time all over again because it reminds me that he is gone and he will never be back to share his mind with us. I am so happy I was alive while he was. I don’t mean to talk badly about Sarah... I feel bad for doing that- but I LOVED + still do love lee so very much. He is and always will be one of my greatest inspirations.
KILYO Sarah is doing a wonderful Job trying to keep the feeling of Lee alive, but I agree. I miss the emotions and drama his runways once gave me. No one will ever live up to it

There’s no way that someone would ever replace Sarah’s work as creative director of the brand, even with McQueen’s replace, the job was way easier to have it done and I’ll explain why:
I hope this make sense to you but Alexander was an artist in his very unique way, a living art piece in its more pure form, that, made him -literally- irreplaceable, no one would ever do anything like he did so, sarah never replaced him, she took over his role in the brand instead, which in the way I see it is not the same, because the holders of the house were obviously not looking for someone to mimic Mcqueen artistry that was, is and will be just impossible instead, they wanted to keep the business goind now as a brand held by McQueen heritage, so, they were looking for someone who was capable of keeping the business going (now as a fashion house) while paying respect and tribute to the founder, his name and heritage would be the entire premise to maintain the buyers, or at least their attention and take everything right where Lee left it (commercially speaking) there was no one capable to achieve that but his former right hand Sarah Burton, to take over everything , so she did.
At the very first moment that McQueen passed away, his brand as he builted it, died with him, once the holders decided to keep the busines going, they knew that Alexander Mcqueen was now going to be a fashion brand instead of that sort of a canvas where all the creativity from Alexander himself was poured into and shown to the world, art would now become part of the brand's DNA, instead of being the entire constitution of it.
10 years after the “rebrand”, there's not much that the actual creative director of the brand owes to the founder, his vision or his art, but even though, she is still paying tribute to him in every single collection, whether if it's among the clothing, the venue for the show, the design of the production or everything at the same, so, after those 10 longs years of have a brand constructed from scratch to what has become nowadays, and with all the respects to Sarah, if someday either she quits or the holders wants to have her removed, she would have to be replaced (not defenestrated) with another designer, but, who in the world would be able to replace her, her vision, the heritage and the history she started to write when she was named Creative Director for the incipient alexander McQueen fashion brand back in 2011? Nobody comes to my mind and I truly believe that in fact, there's is no one that would ever be able to replace her and, even though I feel she has been doing more than awesome and I hope she stays as creative director, I'd really like to imagine how that situation would be handled by the holders but i'm just incapable to have it solved, and that always lead me to belive that maybe, and just maybe, that's why Lee chose her and after all, she is just as irrepleaceable as Alexander McQueen himself in her very own way of course and once she's done with her work at the brand, another legend would be born and another new brand will have to be created.

I thought the show was McQueen all over, especially several of the suits at point 6:20, which seem like scaled back versions of McQueen's Fall/Winter 2008 romance of the British Empire show. Burton, to me, has made McQueen more wearable, perhaps not so dramatic, however she ensures the house retains the exquisite McQueen tailoring and form.
The elegant, taste-full and fluid deigns are new yet classic. I can see the Duchess of Cambridge wearing the white with black swirls dress.
This collection has hint of ancient Celt but in the modern world. It's an interesting mix. The mood also has a viking-like feel to it with the stiff hair and stern faces.
This is sooooo good. Brava Sarah.
A very wearable and well done collection. Not as avant guard as McQueen was but still a fine show...More accessible and to a wider audience. This isnt couture so I dont object to it being a bit "toned down" at all............we need to remember that.
